Alpha Nexus came from a sacred Lycan bloodline. The gods have been pleased with their leadership and devotion, granting them gift of immortality to each alpha of Goldridge Pack. Few years after Nexus ascended the position, the Oracle received a premonition that he will die. Although it was unlikely for an immortal to die, Nexus heeded her warning after seeing numerous threats to his pack. He and his loyal Omega traveled to the mortal world to find the last Grim Oracle. With hopes of preventing his death, he sought after an entity who has no whereabouts.

Chapter 1: The Prophecy
A cold, eerie breeze brushed through my wolf. As I howled, suspense trickled through my ears. Receptive, my claws gnashed through the dried foliage. “You're finally here,” the oracle spoke. She had finally sensed my presence. I gazed around, growling, to eye possible meddlers. This covert must remain confidential; no one can know, not even my pack. Upon confirming, I responded, “Why did you summon me, great one?” Beneath the silhouette of trees, moonlight rayed to reveal my pleasant hostess. Her unusual stare immediately struck me. Eyes fainted in nervousness and fear, something bothers the Oracle. “Listen carefully,” her voice bellowed gravely. There, before her premise could taunt, a loud clamor in the forest rattled the trees unsteadily. Even the wind showed grief and anticipation. “Nexus, Alpha of Goldridge pack,” the Oracle's voice intoned chillingly, “you will die...” Her sedated face tingled my spine, even scaring my wolf. But how can it be? I'm immortal! “You will no longer be,” the Oracle responded as if my thoughts were overt. In confusion, my brows furrowed, “Nothing can kill me, that's impossible!” My wolf and I came from a sacred lycan bloodline, the gods have gifted my ancestors the throne to the ethereal world. No weaponry, assault, neither witchcraft can steal the favor of gods. Goldridge Alphas are indestructible. “A revolution will malevolently attempt to take your throne—” Before she could proceed, I blotted with a query. “Whom? I'll immediately send my pack to stop them.” The Oracle's stare hardened, signalling an unknown tremor about to unfold. Her aura menaced and struck her eyeballs pale bright. The infamous gruesome fate... “Look for the Grim Oracle in the mortal world,” in a breathy voice, she mumbled. “Why not you? Can't you help me?” Faintly, a smile curved through her pale lips. “My fate ends here...” A weakish muttering marked her last service. Her last words haunted the depths of mind as I left her lifeless corpse behind. The Oracle's last notice gnawed rigorously in my memory. A Grim Oracle? Where can I find that in the mortal realm? Navigating my exit through the dying forest, I shifted into human form. With the moonlight glistening through the pavement, I traced the muddy path. My pace was just a few kilometers away from the palace. From a gaze, I can see illuminants lighting the whole village. In admiration, I stopped. “I can't die, evil can't roam in this realm.” I whispered before the wind. The stinging reality made immerse fear loom inside my heart. I need to act fast. Whoever that Grim Oracle might be, I must find her. Only a few steps later, the metal gate swung open for my arrival. But after setting foot into the fine grass, an unsettling aura trickled my senses. Even the crickets were silent. I murmured lowly, “This can't be”. Foreseeing endangerment, I sniffed the vicinity: blood... From the shadows of the palace, a low growl emancipated. I rushed to follow the trail, upon reaching, a grotesque figure froze me. “Beta!” My comrade now lies lifeless in the field where we used to train. Agonizingly, I knelt to check for pulse and breath. I'm too late... My wolf howled and sought to break free, but I restrained. Trembling in anger, I glanced once more at his body. “Who did this?!” I spat echoing in the nearby halls. This time, a lashing growl reverberated. “Don't hide in the dark, coward!” Favoring my mockery, a pair of red eyes menacingly glowed from a distance. The figure disclosed in the glimmer of the high night, revealing an omega. “Rogues came to attack us! Beta was unlucky to survive.” He reported. His voice shook in urgency and aghast, eyes darting again in the dead body beforehand. “Tyron,” calling out in a pitched voice, “how many rogues came to attack us?” “I lost count, there were so many of them.” My fists crumpled into heavy rocks. This attack was no mere coincidence, it was a foreshadow of the prophecy. Burning with anger, I wrought lose my wolf. Growling and howling, I lashed through every courtyard, deliberately thirsty for revenge. My senses were heightened, and so was Lesso's. Danger came swift as thunderbolt to my pack, I must be faster. No trail, no scratch marks, no rogues, seems like they finished the drama without me. About to turn aside, an ominous chill brushed Lesso's fur. “Lesso, stop.” I warned my wolf. Heeding the danger, he inversed his claws. On the last courtyard, Lesso stood still. His wolf senses are stronger than humane. He has descried something supernatural. “So you finally found me,” a seductive voice emerged from the tallness of an ancestral statue. A silhouette caught my breath hitched. Cloaked under a red velvet hood, her slender body luculently rippled my memory. “Lucilda? What are you doing here?” Lucilda was my fated mate, but I rejected her. She was the toughest fighter in the pack, and also the rebellious one. Lips curved like the crescent moon, something's wrong. Lucilda doesn't smile. Gracing in a double somersault, she landed on both feet. “Don't you miss me? Because Beta surely did.” Followed by a mischievous smirk, her words burned my fury. Lesso snarled and gripped his fangs tight. “What did Harry ever do to you?” Instead of answering hastily, she took her cloak off, revealing daggers draped in blood. “Before you could even ask,” she spat confidently, “that's your beloved pack's blood.” Ray of light refracted from the daggers, blinding my eyes with shimmer. Without second thought, Lucilda leapt to set lose her wolf. “Today meets your end, Alpha.” She threatened with a growl. Regaining my senses, I paved for Lesso's expertise. Coiling like a spring ready to bounce off, his claws spurred into the thick grass. With force, I vaulted in mid-air to seize her agile, but Lucilda knew my tactic. She dodged smoothly, sidestepping the impact. The blow that was supposed to wrestle her, bruised my rib. A painful shriek escaped my throat. Lucilda couldn't help but to laugh. “Is this the best werewolf of Goldridge pack?” She spat in mockery, voice cloth in contempt. I grew up with Lucilda, trained, spared and sharpened claws with her. If there was anyone I wish to battle with, she's the last in line. Spotting my vulnerability, Lucilda mockingly circled around me. Eyes granting a predatory sight, moonlight glittered in her eyes with malignance. “Ready to die, Alpha Nexus of Goldridge Pack?” Her threat resonated the prophecy, is this my fate?
