Comeuppance

Author's note: Please feel free to correct any grammatical errors and I truly apologize for any errors, I am still practicing in writing stories using the English Language, I hope you bear with me and enjoy the story. <3 "I am prepared to accept any consequences." she then bowed her head and surrendered her crown. Her beige hair has cascaded down, she then opened her eyes, revealing her violet eyes illuminating brightly. A little boy standing beside her had his eyes widened, surprised by what he heard from the girl that is kneeling 10 meters away from him. "Very well. You must pay the price." The old but muscular man, sitting on the throne said it in an austere tone. "What price must she pay, your majesty?" the little boy asked while he was trembling. "Live as a human." The girl kneeling was clearly frightened upon hearing her subjugation. For them, nothing is more painful and scary than living life as a human but it was the price she needed to pay. "Very well." she said.  ------  I walked slowly into a place I didn’t know how I got to but one thing I knew for sure is that I trust him, I trust the guy who brought me here. But then again, it is not a scary place, it is just unknown but upon seeing these designs I could tell that this is probably a hotel, I guess, I could tell that it is. It is big, spacious and look! There are chandeliers and gold everywhere, it is my first time actually seeing these. The golds look so elegant and shiny. "Shin..." I looked at Cayden and smiled. "Yes?"  "Are you scared?" I looked around again. It is filled with weird things, this is possibly a dream. This can't be real. There are lots of magical stuffs. Flying housemaids and such, if only this was reality, I'll really jump, drop and roll and probably do it like a pro! Because it's like a living anime life. "O-Of what? T-There's nothing to be scared of here. Anyways, this is just a dream, might as well savor it."   I felt him hold my hand. "Shin, I'm sorry, I can explain why I brought you here. This is not a dream." Is this really not a dream? A loud bang echoed in the whole hotel and I could even feel the right portion of my face starting to hurt. The slap was painful, I just woke up, I couldn't possibly be sleeping right? But there are also instances like that when you thought you woke up but it was still just a dream anyways. Maybe I'm just dreaming. I'm shaking, if this is real... "Is that really true? Is what you're saying true?"  "Yes." he answered seriously.  A world of magic .. It's still hard to believe, who knows this could just be a trick! Aha! Must've been a trick. "Look." I looked at him the moment he uttered that word and saw a ray of light coming out from his hands. After that, the ray of light disappeared and then --- "Cayden !!" I said when I saw him fall but then I looked at the floor, there weren't any hole. I was shocked when someone tapped my arm and then at that moment, I can tell it was Cayden maybe because of his perfume. When I turned around to confirm if my hunch was right, I saw Cayden behind me. I seem to be missing out. "What just happened?" And that's when I realized it's really real! Omg, I covered my mouth. OMG! A big OMG! "That was my magic, light is my element." he said that while smiling and right now, I really don't know what to feel, I am trembling.. "Do you believe me now?" he asked. I went down and slowly touched the floor and then I jumped and jumped. It's really real! A world with magic is real and I'm here! I'm stepping a foot on it and a close friend of mine is a magician! "Based on your reaction, is it safe to assume that you aren't scared?"   "Scared?" I groped something in my sling bag and I successfully did it then gave it to him. "What's this?" he asked as soon as he received it. "A map." I answered him. My attention is still focused on the things around us, my eyes can't get enough of this, it's really real! Like real and real! More real than real numbers, more real than nesfruita oranges! "What am I supposed to do with this?" he asked. I frowned. He's so slow. "Is that even a question? Of course! Use it to locate." I saw him look at me while he's looking a little puzzled. "To locate what?" "Eh what else? Locate the reason why I should be scared of this place!" I saw how his serious face soften after that statement, I am really touched of how he is so concerned about every little thing about me, he might probably think I didn't notice but I did. He laughed a little and disheveled my hair. "I mean this is just great! But why did you bring me here? Especially now? Just now? Huhu, you didn't tell me right away that there was such a place." "We are supposed to keep it secret, of course." Ohhh, I placed my index finger on my lips so it's literally like a fantasy life like in the anime and dramas I've watched, this isn't something usual so they keep it a secret and then they just suddenly surprise people with their magic!  I noticed the not so far balcony from where we're standing, I gently pushed the glass door and went there and if I was ever amazed by what I have seen awhile ago, I am much more astounded now! It's very beautiful and unbelievable. It's captivating and can make you fall in love with the night but my eyes immediately caught sight of the lightnings. I stared at it and I even rubbed my eyes to confirm what I just saw. I felt Cayden's presence and his perfume approaching me. "Cay, your place is so cool, the lightning is colored pink! So fancy! It's cool!" I told him. It really is so cool. The magic world is really different from what I've grown up to. I bet people here are really happy. "Not really .. Maybe that woman just feels bad or sick." he said so I slowly backed away while still looking at the pink lightning. I frowned. "Woman? Who?" "Ah, we need to get going, we're going somewhere, let's go." I skipped walking as I followed him. "Cay, what's the name of this hotel? It's so beautiful, how much is the overnight stay here?" I looked around and saw that there are so many workers here, smiling at us and bowing and so I did the same. The people here are very polite. "Actually, this is my family's house." I was stunned that I blinked five times to snap. "T-This is your house?" He scratched his head and nodded slowly. ----- Someone else's POV (Point of View) "Argh!" I switched position on my bed for the 23rd time already. Why am I feeling such unease at this hour? This is the first time I ever felt this way. I can't even sleep no matter how tired I am from my training and from doing all the things I needed to do this day. I noticed my phone's screen suddenly turned on then I saw that someone is calling as it was displayed on my phone's screen and so I sat down on the bed, covering the lower part of my body with the duvet. Loiveigh calling.... I'm just tired. What could she be calling about at this time? I answered it. "Veigh?" "Ello." "Why are you--aish Get to the point, why did you call?" I said while scratching my head.  "Just checking on you. You don't seem to be feeling well." I lifted an eyebrow, how did she know? Don't tell me, they're behind this, is this another one of their pranks? Well if it is--- "I am doing perfectly fine, to be at all honest, I was sleeping well but it got disrupted when you called." I answered using fluent sarcasm. "거짓말 (English: Lie)" I sighed so okay, time to confirm.. "어떻게 알았어? (English: How did you know?) I answered. "Check out the night sky, it's filled with lightning."   "I'm not the only lightning user in this world." "But the lightning is pink, it's none other than yours, this is the first time it happened and just thought that maybe it happens if you're overwhelmed or I don't know." I drew the curtain to the side and saw the lightnings. I sighed. It's undoubtedly mine. "Hello? Are you still there ?!" I heard Loiveigh said in the other line. "Yes, I just went to confirm." "So what? You feeling under the weather?" "Not really, I need time to figure this out." "Aight, contact us anytime. Gotta hang." she said and I heard the end call tone. I heaved a sigh. What is wrong with me. What's with tonight? Why am I feeling uneasy? Why argh! Am I too excited for my photoshoot tomorrow? Not like it's my first time. I really need to get a beauty sleep but I don't feel tired at all. I just scrolled through the timeline of my social media accounts. I already see news about me. Pretty sure I'll get a lot of calls so I immediately took the battery off my phone. Now let me try to get some sleep as I jumped back on the bed. ---- I saw a lot of gigantic buildings and I was amazed right away, not to mention I was also amazed by Cayden's car, I mean it's not so magical but because these cars in my world are expensive. We entered a large area, you would think that the place we entered was a whole city because of how big it is. I don't really know what Cayden's trip is that we really need to go here at this hour. I mean it's already night. I read what was written on the building. Ninfea University Eastern Grounds. Did we go to a school? Is he studying here? That's nice. So I should just assume that this school is like those schools me and my best friend read in e-books and see in tv dramas. We arrived in front of the school and Cayden got off. He peeked at me inside the car when he got out. "Get off the car." he said at the same time offering his hand, so I actually went down although I can manage to without him having to offer a hand but it looks like it's a sign that he's a gentleman. He's rare in my life and world so I grabbed the opportunity, ehe. When we got down and slowly made our way in, the inside was like a mall because you wouldn't think it was night because of the lights. But there are windows so we can tell that it's night besides, there are lots of people walking around on the ground and there are a bunch of buildings in. It's like a large compound. I look around and this university is so beautiful, you will think you are really in real life novel stories. We entered an office and our entry was oversized. "You can sit there for the meanwhile." he said and I saw he pointed to a sofa so I sat there. I saw him go straight to the other side. It's too big here. Soon I was startled and all my hair stood up as I felt something strange. Strangely enough I could not understand, I looked around and I could smell things coming. Three people came out of where Cayden came out. I looked at them. One woman and two men. The woman was wearing eyeglasses and was carrying a lot. I'm the one who's having a hard time even though I'm just looking at what she's carrying. I noticed that the guy in the middle is just carrying 5-10 pages of paper and he could only be carrying that since he's reading it while the other guy on the left was technically just walking and so out of the world. What is that? They're not helping their companion. I got up immediately and went to the woman. The moment I reached them, I widened my eyes after I just realized that I have no single clue of what language they use to speak here Oh my gosh I am already here.. what am I supposed to say, I can hear my heart beating so fast and I could even feel my whole body sweating up, I saw how I got the woman's attention. Ah! I have an idea! I am not sure if they could understand but I used my hand to point the other extra things she's bringing to indicate that I want to go and help her . I took some of the things she's bringing and waited patiently for them to walk so I could help her take these to their destination. "Who's this girl?" I had goose bumps all over my body hearing the guy in the middle's voice, it was so scary, authoritative, perhaps that I feel like I would die if I would disobey anything he says. I slowly shifted my eyes at him and saw that he is also looking at me so my head automatically bowed down. I gulped. It was as if I ran out of saliva. "No idea, haven't seen her around before" the guy on the side said. "Hey woman, can you talk?" he asked as I felt his eyes on me as well. I just shook my head out of the nowhere and out of nervousness.  "I-I also don't know her, your sovereignty." the woman said One fact I hate about myself is that I easily get nervous, I realized they were speaking using English, I'm not so fluent in doing so especially if I'm nervous, everything becomes a mess when I'm nervous but you see, I know how to speak it in my mind but when it's done orally, I just I don't know, I end up stuttering. "Whoever you are, did you know that it's rude to intrude? Ah there's no use talking to you since you won't be able to respond anyway." he said while looking ahead in the direction of where they were suppose to walk, I looked at him and when he looked back, I immediately looked at the ground, still bowing my head. "Are you struggling to carry all of those?" he asked as he looked at the woman without a single expression of worry in his eyes. That's when I felt blood boiled all over my body. Does he really still need to ask that? Look at the woman! It's so obvious. I mean wow what a waste! It's really true that you can't have everything, God blessed this boy with good looks like those guys that girls encounter in anime or dramas in the television but his brain deficiency is totally on a different level. "N-No, your sovereignty" she answered as she took the things back from me although she was legit struggling. They continued walking, leaving me behind. I fanned myself then blew some of my hair strands on my face then proceed to get in the way of the guy in the middle, he looked at me. I took something from my bag and I gave it to him. He looked at it then looked at me. He threw it away. "What's that for?" he asked. I picked it up from the floor and forcibly made him hold it. "Don't be shy. Go ahead and use this map to look for your common sense. You don't seem dumb but I guess looks can really be so deceiving." He narrowed his eyes, I am trembling but right now I am in no place to just ignore what I am seeing. Lemme talk, just talk. "She was obviously struggling to carry those. You don't look weak to not be able to help her carry at least a little bit of it to make it at least easier for her. Especially you!" I said as I pointed the guy standing on the side and was literally like I don't care about everything, he looked surprised when I pointed him. I took almost everything that the girl was carrying, she was surprised but she was too stunned to even do something about it, I made the guy in the middle bear all of those things. "Yes, carry it. Just deserts duh." I said as I ran towards the hallway where Cayden walked awhile ago, my heart is beating so fast, I needed to catch my breath. I caught the scent of his perfume so I followed it and saw another office. The door was closed so I decided to sit beside it while grasping for air.  I'm not even sure if Cayden is really in there coz I might just be imagining about his perfume and besides no one has ever located someone just by their perfume but I need to catch some air so I'll spend a few minutes and rest here.. The door opened and I was so startled/. And then I saw Cayden looking at me, he looked a little surprised as well, maybe because I followed him ehe. I stood up. "Uh Cayd---" He stopped me from speaking by placing his index finger on my lips. "Ssshhh." I looked straight into his eyes and heard him say "Don't call me that in this place." and again I got shocked but I said "Okay." anyways He was stunned for a few seconds that made me look at him but then he grabbed my hand and pulled me inside the office. My eyes roamed around and saw how cool the office looks! Then I saw a guy wearing a sleeveless white shirt who is busy writing something. Cayden took my bracelet off, I don't know what he wanna do with it but I didn't stop him since he was the one who gave and made me wear these accessories all over my body. When the guy paused writing to look at us, his eyes widened which made my eyes widened as well. He stood up and walked to us, he is looking at me as if I'm a very weird species or he saw an alien right before him, I looked at him back, he looked at me as he slowly walked in circular direction around us, me and Cayden followed his walk in circular direction too as we were looking weirdly at each other. "She really looks like her." he said and took some few steps backward as he touched his chin. "Honestly, she also have the same scent, it's difficult to identify who is who." I have no single idea what they're talking about. Well, I decided not to intrude because to be at all honest, what that guy told me about it is rude to intrude hit me real hard. I can't really just stand not meddling in some's business sometimes.  I noticed the guy was like thinking of something, come to think of it, he doesn't look old and I can also smell his perfume, same with the other people walking around including those three I met awhile ago and Cayden's. It really is different in fantasy world, perfumes don't even last for 10 minutes in my world.  "What is your name?" he asked as I looked at him and pointed myself, questioning if he was referring to me, then he nodded.  "I am-------" "Analyseana Vanidestine" I was surprised when Cayden suddenly spoke up for me and he even said a name that isn't even mine. "Uhm what are you talki---" as I look at him I asked. "and her real name?" after hearing this question, I looked at the guy again. "Koukishin Pallas." then I smiled widely when Cayden uttered my full name, thought he forgot about my name and thought of me as someone else. "You're insulting me with your caution." the guy said while narrowing his eyes, looking at Cayden who's laughing right now. "binawi ko naman kaagad, sir ah. (translation: I instantly took it back)." Cayden said while smiling. My eyes widened, he just spoke using the Filipino Language.  "Hmp, yoko na sayo." (translation: hmph don't want you anymore) my eyes even widened after hearing that the guy responded in Filipino Language as well and then they both laughed at each other. "She needs to come back tomorrow and take the exam if you wanna enroll her and here." He gave Cayden a card and some papers. "Salamat sir, maaasahan ka talaga." (translation: Thank you sir, you can really be trusted.) he said as he smiled and winked at the guy he's calling sir, I was stunned for a second because Cayden, in fairness really looked handsome when he did that.
