Chapter 4 – It’s Coming Soon

It has been years since I have been staying at the Azier's mansion. I had been training my mind and body without any rest. I learned how to fight by fist, fire a gun, use a dagger, and many more.

My knowledge and skills continued to develop and improve as years pass by with the help of the children in the mansion. As I thought, it was easier to survive if you have allies.

When Mr. Azier said that I was finally ready, I started receiving missions. Mostly to kill people and demons. It was hard, I was almost killed on my first assignment but I managed to hold out and learn from that terrible experience. The tasks often put my life in danger but I can't stop, not now. I needed to be stronger!

On top of that, I had also been attending school. Wayde and I are in the same Academy, while the other children are in different schools. Wayde is popular at school. I don't know how he manages to hide his true identity but one thing is for sure. I can't do the same.

I decided to keep a low profile but everyone started to torment my peaceful life. I didn't want to fight back because I might get caught. Wayde can't help me too because everyone might get suspicious and ask. Both of us don't want that. In the end, I gave up. I had enough of their beatings and shits.

One day I started to fight back. Little did I know, as days turned to years, I was been known as the troublemaker of the Academy. They still don't know anything about me, which means I'm still not caught. It's the same as before when I was keeping a low profile.

No one dares to ask about my life because everyone is afraid of me except for one...

"Hey. Want some?" Elena asked handing me a strawberry milkshake, she has one too. I don't like strawberries though. I shook my head as an answer. It's too sweet.

"But who will drink this? I can't drink it anymore. I feel full already." She said complaining as she held on to her stomach.

As if I asked her to buy me this. I grabbed the milkshake from her hand and started to drink it. As I thought, it tastes so f*****g sweet. Don't get me wrong. I like sweet stuff but not too much. She smiled in return then sat down beside me.

We are currently at the cafeteria. It's break time and everyone is doing what they usually do.

"So where do you live? We still haven't started our science report. It's already due on Friday. Besides that, I don't have a home remember? I just live in a dorm and outsiders aren't allowed there." She stated.

It's been days since she keeps on pestering me, asking me where the hell I live but no one should know where that place is. However, there's a cabin nearby the mansion we should just stay there and make the science report.

"Midway St. 167," I said and stood up.

She didn't talk after that. She is my only friend, Elena Schmidt.

I've been keeping secrets from her but she still stayed beside me, cruel right?

But that's the right thing to do, keep all my secrets from her or else she will be killed.

"I'll head back," I said.

"I'll stay for a couple of minutes." She replied.

"Suit yourself," I said and started to walk. I head towards our classroom but when I got in, there was no one around.

Hence, something was written on the board. The class has been canceled. The teachers have been called since there's a faculty meeting.

I grinned and decided to head home. I choose to walk and just call for my driver at a cafe. By the way, we have our cars and a personal driver.

Why do we have a personal driver?

Because we aren't allowed to drive the car.

Funny, isn't it?

I don't care. I don't want to drive it anyways, it's too tiring. Though, I think there's something more behind that reason.

I continued to walk unbothered by the stares that were coming from the people that I come across. I wanted to drink some hot coffee, I just got back this morning from my mission last night. I still haven’t slept. Other than that, I still taste the strawberries inside my mouth. It's making me puke.

Hence, I noticed someone following me. I looked behind me but there was no one suspicious. Just before I know it, I was finally in front of the cafe but I can still feel that someone is watching me.

I head inside and hurriedly ordered a coffee. After that, I went outside and texted my driver. He replied saying he'll be here in a minute. I just waited as I drink my coffee.

However, I can still feel that someone is watching me. I decided to walk away from the cafe and head towards a dark and gloomy alley. I sensed that the person followed me so, I stopped when there were no other people anymore.

"You can come out now. I won't bite." I stated as I turned sipping my coffee.

A tall man showed up in front of me.

No, I should rephrase what I have said.

This isn't a man.

It has fangs showing off its mouth. His saliva was dripping so horribly, disgusting!

It made me throw my coffee in the corner. I feel like puking again.

Hence, I pulled the gun that was at the bottom of my skirt. I glanced at the demon once again but, he wasn't there anymore. Little did I know, he was already beside me and was about to rip my neck apart but I dodged him fast.

I started to shoot him but he moves quickly. Still, I already encountered many of your kind. I can kill you easily. I waisted seven bullets onto this demon when he finally collapsed.

The bullets that were created by the Azier family are made for these demons. It can kill them in an instant. I don't know what it is made of but I'm glad that they made this.

Demons started to come out of their havens when Aviana's story began to spread all over the world. It's as if her story became the key for them to come out.

We have been trained to protect the people among these demons. Killing demons in the shadows, hiding the truth from the world, is one of our missions. People around the world still don't know that demons started to appear. They only know about Aviana's story, nothing more.

That being the case, I have been having this ominous feeling ever since I met and kill a demon.

Now, I'm starting to think that something is about to happen and it's coming soon.
