Chapter Five By the time Stacey made it to work the next day, the other employees had been told that the restaurant was closing at the end of the month. Three people quit on the spot, leaving them just as short-staffed as William had predicted. Her five-hour shift quickly turned into a ten-hour one. She was by herself until Amanda came into work that evening. When Stacey saw her, she dashed over and gripped her arm. “Please tell me you aren’t quitting just yet.
