Chronicle Of The Twilight

I was standing outside at the backyard of my house while feeling the coldness of the breeze. I could hear the trees rustling as I listened the silence around me. So very silent at night especially when I'm not in the city that is so full of noise. Honks, beeps, screeches and any thing that could destroy your eardrums. And I nearly became deaf if it's just not because of the wind waved by the wind. I walk around since it's so boring when you're always standing and fortunately, I saw a bench on not so far away from my spot. And even though it's midnight, everything is not dark and it's all thanks to moon that I still can see things. I sat on the bench and looking to the moon, I want to inhale fresh air and that's why I went out to here, the backyard of our house. As I look toward the sky, watching the moon glowing alone in the middle of the night, memories and images during my childhood start to appear in my mind. Voices, places, everyone calling each other's names while running across in the field of grass in the night. (Flashbacks) "Mei, wait up!! Wait for us!" A boy named Harreith says while panting heavily as went to my direction tiredly. Followed by the seven kids that was also tired while chasing at me. "Goodness, your so fast on running, didn't your stomach hurts?" Ask by another kid that has a nickname called Riri, along with Harreith. I stopped and turn to them. I still saw them followed me so I can't stop myself from asking them. "Just why did you guys keeping a track of me? I'm just buying some breads and snack, moreover, it's already been night and it's dark. And also, I'm dead if your parents found out that you've been with me in this time because maybe they might thought that I made you all joined in my stupid stuffs...." But I was surprised when someone suddenly embrace me tightly from my back that. And because of the tightness, I cannot breath steadily. "Penelopeee!!! Let go of Mei, she can't breathe!!!!! Hey, what's up with you?!?!" Riri and Harreith both yell at her. "Nope..... I won't." She declined while looking at the two tiredly and full of laziness then loosen her clasp on my waist, making me breath comfortably. "So why did you follow me?" I asked them again. "Of course it's because it's already night. Your question was making me dumb, just what kind of question is that Mei?" William suddenly interfered the conversation while also panting, obviously was newly arrived here. "Beside, we just want you to keep company, we don't want you to go away without us. Or maybe you don't like us to go with you so you don't have to share your snacks to share with." He added in a huff. I still want to complain however Eren, Dylan and Finn also just arrived so I was more nervous due to realizing that we still have those three. "Move fast, it's already night, the moon shows." Finn instantly says coldly. "Bruh, agree. Let's move fast guys, it's so creepy in here.....it making my skin crawl. Also, seems like we've been passed by snowstorm." William agreed and quickly grabbed Dylan's arms and stick on it. "Come on dude, you're being exaggerated, so many protest, why don't you walk properly?" Dylan groan but eventually put his arm in William's shoulder. We continue to walk and after minutes of silence occupied us, the voice of crow echoed so my friend became noisy and start to tell a story about the unnatural incidents that connects to the sound of crow. "Guys guys, do you that everytime the crow cries, it means that there's something spectacular happens?" Penny suddenly ask. "I don't know but that's what my mama said." Riri answered. "That was true, guys, just like me before, when I heard the crow's voice, I just got the news that our old neighbor pass away by the beginning of dawn!" Dylan joined the conversation. I was just listening to them as they're talking about it while taking ourselves back home. Almost everyone were also joining, except for Eren that was focusing on the plastic bag I hold. 'Ahh... So that's why I've never heard his voice because he focused in this all the time.' I says inside my mind. "Bro, just calm down. You're drooling." I whisper to joke at him. When he heard it, his eyes become wide and slap my arms, making me laugh more, and because of the slight loud laugh I made, everyone in front of me and Eren turn to me with a confused expression. "The heck! No way! That was not me, it's just you! You're the one that drool in the two of us!" He denies. "What? D-did you just accused me?!? Huh?!" I shout at him. "Exactly!!!" "What the.....so you took the blame on me, hey! Take your word back!!" I pointed him. "No! Just give me some snacks and I won't disturb you! I know you're greedy." He pouts. "Tch, go buy your own dude, stop hoping, that was just for me." Harreith smirk, putting his arms behind his nape. "Gosh dude, stop hoping either! That's not for you anyway. I know you also want one." Eren responded. "Ahhhhhh......guys....." William weakly mumble, almost became a whisper but enough for us to be heard. "I think I have a bad feeling just right now...." "Dude, maybe it was your hallucinations." Riri reply. "Whoa, chill dude. Nothing's gonna happen, we're all here!" Eren convince him. "But.....this is getting weird....." He walk forward from them. "Hey, stop it already. Just let's faster, it's getting late." Finn coldly says. "Umm...is there something wrong here William?" I ask. He didn't respond either. And I notice that his fist clinched and shaking and he's also sweating. And I figure that even though they didn't give attention to him is also obviously to them worrying about his actions. "My hunch is bad for this i***t, you know." Harreith whispered when he went to my side. "Let's just prepare whatever will happens here." Eren also whisper from my other side. We were just surprise when he look at us with a smile but changed into a expression of terror. "GUUYYYSSSS!!! THERE WAS A GHOSTS IN YOUR BACK!!!!!" He shouted so loudly, making us all panic and running to the wherever direction we can run of. Because of the fast incident, Eren quickly grab me and the worst is I almost drop the plastic bag if it wasn't because of Harreith that was also gripping my wrist, fortunately, he catch it in time. After a seconds, I just hearing a shout of Penny, trying to resist from Finn's grip from attacking William in shock and frustration. We turn to them and Finn held both of her arms as she was kicking in the air with her face became red in rage. And the other thing is William seems to enjoyed everything, he's laughing so hard and thinking that maybe he really succeeded in his plan. "William!! What the hell dude?! You almost scare us to death! You come here, we'll discuss this matter you little s**t!" Annoyance written in Dylan's face as he's trying to reach William from running. 'Hah! Seriously.' I only say in my mind due to his stupidness. And when Penny successfully escaped from Finn's grip, she blocks the way where William will cross using her feet for a revenge. "Gosh, I know this girl. She really won't stop until she don't take her revenge." Eren smiled. "What a freaking piece of jerk! How could you do that?! You almost give me a heart attack you moron!" Penny shout as she get on top of William and pulling his hair, making him winced in pain. "Aw, aww, awww! Fine! Alright! I get it! It's my fault! I'm sorry so stop it Penny it hurts! My scalp hurts!" He hiss but was apologize in sincerity. "Hmp! Deserve!" She grab his hair one more time before getting up and leave him. "Aawww!!" "Wait guys, didn't you hear something?" Riri suddenly ask. We became silent for a minute and she was right, someone was shouting from afar. We searched the location of sound until we glanced a burning torches of fire with a voices of familiar people calling us and that's when we realize a thing. "Ow crap! That was mom!!" Eren uttered so we all run to the direction of them. "Granpa! Granma! Dad! We're here!" We all shout as we waved our hands so they'll see us. At first, we think it was just them however, as we went near, I found out that there were more people. Some were unknowns and some were a police and other. 'Wait what are they doing here in this time? In this place?' And when we reach them, they greet us with a worried face. Our brows frowns when we were greeted like this instead of sermons or lectures. "Where you all kids have been all this week?" Harreith's dad ask us. "Don't you know we've been worrying you all this time while your not home? You've been missing for weeks for god's sake!" Riri's mom added. 'What....?? Weeks...??' "Wait wait. What do you mean? Weeks? For real?" I asked in confusion. "Come on, that's too long for us. We've just went to the store for a time being yet we've been lost for a whole week?! That's not possible!" Eren respond. They became silent while looking each other's eyes as if they're talking through mind. And I also look at them with confusion, after a minute, Penny's grandfather decide to speak. "Let's go home, the important is we've found them. Just watch out for this kids in the future." It says and that's when we separated. But it still didn't come out once in my mind after that incident. (End Of Flashbacks) It was still a mystery for me until now. I let out a breath as I trying to rid it in my mind, the important is we return home safely without bad happened in our journey. I should have left in the bench when suddenly, the grass rustling near to my feet, I quickly put my feet in the cheer, it might be perhaps a snake, I'm even scared of it. And I'm afraid I also cannot stay here because it's dangerous. I was about to jump and run back when as I notice something a figure or a shadow behind the tree beside me. And because of shock, I froze in the spot, unable to move. I also feel that sweats start to drop from my forehead even though the atmosphere is cold. Just why did I got this feeling? Because I felt like I'm gonna meet my end if I make a one wrong move. 'Anyway, maybe I'm just hallucinating or it might be the cause of random things inside my thoughts.' I say through in telepath and turn to the figure and jolt in surprise when my suspicion wasn't mistaken. I jump in terrified and shriek when a piece of wood I used to sat earlier spath and torn apart. The impact is loud, I also hear my heart beats rapidly that was about to explode in a mixed of nervous, shock and fear. It start to head over my direction so I immediately run to the door and to my surprise, as I take the turn, I don't see any of part of our house but the one that greet my eyes were the forest. I can't believe what I just saw now. "No way.....i-it was right here! My home.....the door!" Even though I hardly can't believe it, still the thing was on my mind right now is to run until I got home. I looked at my back and since the moon meet my eyes, I could see it's ghastly and nasty face. Tall, sharp ang long teeth and claws, thick fur as black as shadow that covers almost the whole percent of it's face along the eyes that was glowing red as blood. A real monster was now existing before me. 'Are they really real?' I feel like I'm hallucinating, but not.....a dream? My heart skip a loud beat as it was glaring at me with intense that makes my bone shiver down and making my legs trembled and sweating and unable to move. The next moment I know was I run toward the woods, chased by about five monsters that was also hiding behind the trees. I ran and ran as fast as I could but the thing is one of them grab my feet that cause me to stumble and landed to the sharp stone. I gasp in pain as my knees bleed, the worse is the wound was deep that my blood flows out from it. Then I look below on where that freak was holding to and saw it's long eight legs like a spider and round baldy head like a human with sharp teeth and long tongues and it's red eyes looking at me teasingly and lick some of my blood that makes me kick it out to the max, creepy does. 'This is not a dream anymore, nothing happened when I got stricken. If this is a dream, then I would be awake today in my room. Yet none has gone through, in fact I feel the pain of hell.' Nevertheless, I can not run further, my knees felt numbed and some of them will reach me sooner. Darn it, I don't wanna end up in here however I'm helpless now, only watching myself as I'm being eaten. I know from the moment that creature jump so high, and ready it's mouth to devour me was really my end. 'So hard to accept but.....how? Just waiting when I really end up even if it sucks.' But before it happened, I saw someone leaping from my back to the top of that creature while looking at me with it's blazing red eyes and drop something off my face. He did it on the fast way that my mind's still blank. And for the last time I watch him landing behind the monster and looked at me in sideway before darkness overwhelmed my conscious, I hear him say coldly. "Rest." -A-
