Chapter 43 The body was burnt and broken almost beyond repair and recognition. The ambulance picked up the almost-corpse and loaded it into the back of the van, not holding out any hope that the patient would survive the trip. Upon reaching the hospital, the shattered victim was desperately holding on to life only by the thinnest of threads. The emergency room doctor examined the newly arrived patient. While the man’s face was damaged, the main force of the car bomb blast had been to the back; he must have been facing out of the car when the bomb went off, which had saved his life.
