******Hi all, Would appreciate hearing from my readers in the comments, love to hear you favorite part so far or favourite character, or if there something in the story so far that you can relate too.
Thank you for reading! :) *****
Today is my first day of school, 2 or so weeks have passed, since I received the text from Brody aka my father.
I’d tried to push him out of my head since, I’d be working hard with Agni, to catch up on all I need to know.
The Basics were;
A pack has a leader the Alpha, he’s supported by his right hand man or woman the Beta(man) Delta (woman) they support the Alpha’s decsions protect him and send his commands the next in line, The Gamma , Their job is to command the warriors on pack raids, or in defensive of the pack, they are the coordinators, Then you have the omegas they are the muscle, they are the driving force of a packs strength behind the leaders a strong collection of warriors can do a pack a lot for both taking territory or defending it, Finally you have the rest of the pack, the untrained wolf or she-wolf mates, children, elderly and the sick, they are the moral support, but also the ones to be protected for the packs future.
That was Agni idea of basic.
I felt lucky that I had a good memory but had written it down anyway.
I had got up early today, to make sure I wasn’t late for my first day of school, I'd had shower, braided my hair, dressed then drank a coffee for breakfast, and before long, it was almost 8 oclock.
I stood at the bus stop waiting, it was 8.15, where was the bus?
It was freezing, standing in last years uniform two sizes too small in the chest and the skirt, I was feeling it's lack of coverage.
A ute that was passing slowed, pulling up on the opposite side on the road, I watched as the driver parked.
Pulling my attention from the ute, the Skys opened up and it suddenly started raining, now I was going to be cold and wet.
I felt someone watching me, spun to find a tall boy striding towards me, an umbrella in hand.
“Hello” Said the boy, he didn’t look familiar, but he looked normal enough.
“Hey” I reply awkwardly, My cheeks flushing, what was I suppose to say, he was handsome, tall and tanned, his dark eyes sparking with mischief.
“Did you know they changed the bus times?” He continued.
Suddenly he has my attention, I turn to look at him, my eyes wide in question.
“Hahah the school bus leaves here for school at 7.35am for the next 4 weeks.”
He shrugs, it doesn’t affect him, he has a licence.
“No I didn’t, more to the point, how do you know?” I press, I’m in a mood, its f*****g freezing.
“I checked my email before school, after I received the text.” The boy is looking at me expectantly.
“Well I’ll have you know I didn’t, I got a new number so its not on the schools list to text me.” I hiss, I look at my watch its 8.25am.
“Well If that is the case, I'd better start walking, Or I’ll be late.” I go to push past him, when he puts an arm out.
“Hey I can give you lift, I’m on my way and it’s a bit cold to be walking especially in that uhhh.. uniform.” He winks cheekily; he shrugs off his school jacket offering it to me.
I’d normally decline such an offer, but the jacket had our school chest, and I was so freaking cold, I didn’t want to be late too, Sighing, I nod accepting his offer.
He moves placing his jacket on my shoulders, I put my arms through the sleeves, Its 3 sizes to big, but its still warm.
He spins me to face him, zipping it up like I was an incapable child, I feel my cheeks flushing.
“By the way, my names Garrett, What’s yours?” He smiles kind, god I could get lost in those dark mischievous eyes.
“My names Ivy, I’m a senior this year.” I reply, we start walking to his ute, I’m thankful for him right now, his jacket covers past my knees, I’m warm and the umbrella he’s holding is keeping us dry.
We walk around to the passenger side door; he holds it open, helping me in, before closing the door and jogging around to the drivers side.
Garrett had left the car idling, so it was warm and welcoming.
It was only a 5 min drive But I wished it was longer, the heaters in this car was amazing and I knew I’d have to give his jacket back, I’d misplaced my own at the end of last year.
He climbed in putting the car in gear, pulling out into the lane, we headed towards school.
I look over to Garrett, he’s grinning to himself.
“Something tickles your fancy?” I sarcastically inquire, feeling like I’m being left out of an inside joke.
“I just rescued a damsel in distress, A beautiful princess sits in my car, and when I get my jacket back, it’ll smell like a beautiful blossom or vera wang perfume,”
He grins, chuckling to himself, I can feel myself blushing again, this was more attention I’d had from a guy all summer.
“It’ll smell like vanilla and caramel, and probably coffee.” I shrug.
“Mmm my favouite, I could go for a coffee this morning!” He remarks cheerfully.
We arrive at school, pulling into a parking spot, the car park if full of people waiting for the bell.
Garrett turned off the car, getting out and coming around to open my door.
I’m suddenly feeling nervous, some girls glare as they pass, making puppy eyes at Garrett, was she missing something?
I start to take the jacket off to return it, when he grabs my hand in his, I look up at him and he has a finger to his lips, looking around he leans down.
“Can we pretend even just for today, that you’re my girlfriend?” He smiles shyly, and I stare.
“Pretend? Why?” I’m shocked someone this hot, would ask something like this of me.
“Why? Well first, I don’t want you to freeze by returning my jacket just yet, and it looks better on you. Second I want everyone to think I could get a girlfriend as beautiful as you over the summer.” He smiles, he seems sincere and that makes my blush more.
“Ok I can do that, I generally don’t want to return your jacket anyway,” I smile, reaching up on my tippy toes, I place a kiss on his cheek.
He eyes light up and he squeezes my hand, I’d only known him 10 mins and I had a fake boyfriend haha, that’s a pretty great start to the year.
I grab my bag out of the car and Garrett takes it carrying it for me, we stroll holding hands across the parking lot, girls turn and stare as I look away, Garrett plants a kiss on my head, locking eyes with the group of girls, I suddenly feel very glad I’d missed the bus today.
Some boys stop us at the steps, they swarm around Garrett, eyeing me curiously, after saying hello, he introducing me as his girlfriend, we meet over the summer at the “Harely Davidson shop” I fill in, I’d seen a receipt in the cup holder, I needed a lift as it had started to rain, he nodded watching me, then we’d gone out for a coffee he fills in, winking and we’d be seeing each other since.
The boys accepted the story, smiling and slapping him on the back, expressing their jealously.
One of them, I recognised named Lucus from last years french class, I offer a small wave, as he smiles in return, he nods to Garrett giving me a thumbs up.
I then excused myself, Garrett promises to find me at lunch, ‘for a kiss’ he drawls, with a wink, I shake my head laughing, what had I got myself into.
Reaching my locker, I undo my lock shoving my bag in, I grab my books and phone, it flashes 1 new msg.
I’m expecting it to be mum, when I unlock it my jaw drops.
Unknown Number:
‘Dearest Ivy,
I already missed so many first days of school, I wasn’t going to miss you last first day, but it seems you work fast, you guys make a cute couple. Shame he’s not you mate. Love Daddy xoxo’
Attached is a photo of me and Garrett walking across the parking lot, as he places a kiss on my head only minutes before, the giddiness suddenly fades and is replaced by a sick feeling.
