CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR It was eight the following day when Jordan pulled up outside the hotel and found Nash waiting. Nash had his back against the wall and looked at his cell phone with a puzzled expression. “Morning,” she said, speaking through the open window as she parked the car next to him. “Good morning, deputy,” Nash replied. Nash kicked off from the wall and walked over to the vehicle. “Bad phone call?” she asked. “No, quite the opposite, or rather should I say, odd. I was trying to reach Special Agent Newman at the New York office.
