Chapter 3: Rejected Proposal

1103 Words
What the hell did I just say? Did I propose? Oh my gosh! The words I just let go are the ones that will kill me. Because of being nervous, my tongue slipped and asked him those words. My whole system went wild when he started to laugh, what is funny about this situation? I just proposed to him because I want this to stop. I want the marriage to stop. "An engaged lady proposing to me? A brave one," he stepped closer and leaned before me with no emotion that you can trace in his eyes. I unconsciously stepped back while meeting his cold gaze. "I-I have no intention of marrying my fiancé, I don't want to be married to him." I stepped back as my head bent down. "If I marry him, I won't get the freedom that I've been longing for." Silently praying to God that he would answer my prayers, I want this man to free me from my parents. Please, soften his heart and let him agree with me to execute this plan. "Since I was young, I've been locked up in our house. They wouldn't let me live a normal childhood up until now and I became the person they wanted me to be in a chance that they would set me free, not until they announced the engagement. All along, they shaped me to be a good woman for a husband," I explained. That's how sad my life is. I haven't experienced anything enjoyable in my life. I never make the same mistakes twice because my parents will be stricter. I was like a doll to them and after making me good, they would just sell me to anyone for power. "I am grasping for freedom that has been taken away from me in my whole life and you are the only one who can help me to achieve it, so please, help me." Some words still want to escape out of my mouth but I know the Alpha hates talkative women, so I kept my mouth shut, just a brief explanation and it's okay. His impassive eyes pierced through my soul in a minute. He remained emotionless and calm like how he normally behaved. Knowing that I will be stepping my dignity out of this. "Please, I'm begging you, take me away from our wedding." Tears streamed down my face as I looked at him like a stray dog begging for food. "I am not a God to have mercy. I have no reason to save you. Importantly, I don't want to establish a bad connection between our family, so best wishes to the newly engaged couple," his baritone voice echoed into my head while he was saying those words and went in any direction. From his voice to the words that he said, it felt like my world was falling apart. Whether it's because of being heartbroken or being rejected, but the pain of losing hope in the freedom I want. I sat on the ground and put my palm on my face. I'm breaking down. I just can't imagine my life going on with Geib. It's not the life I want to have until I die. He won't give me the freedom I want! After crying, my eyes felt puffy and painful, but I needed to go back because I knew that my mother was searching for me. She's so strict that she doesn't want me to fade in front of her even just a minute. If she found out I was out, tons of bullets would escape through her mouth. I ran inside the venue and saw Kierra flirting with my cousin. It's not time to flirt! I need your help, Kierra! With pointed heels, I ran to her and snatched her from Andrei. "Now is not the time to flirt!" I warned them and pulled Kierra back from the table where we sat a while ago. "Where did you go? I thought you filled the whole tank with your urine, your mother was red as a tomato when I told her you went out! You'll be dead like mice." I rolled my eyes at her and took her bag, I immediately got the concealer and make-up to retouch my face again. Well, I don't want to look like a zombie in front of many people. "Let her be, I just went out for a while. I need fresh air," I muttered while roaming my head here. I want to see if he's still here, after begging like a stray cat, I don't know if I still had the face to be in front of him. "What happened to you? You just went to pee yet you look messy! And did you cry? Girl, your eyes are puffy!" She kept babbling talking about what she observed then she went silent. I didn't know what she was doing because I was busy doing my face, but then she just screamed. I shot her a glare, why the hell did she scream? "Adrianna Elyse Fabiona! Tell me the truth! Did you follow my cousin?" She leaned closer to meet my eyes. How the heck did she know? To avoid her gaze, I tilted my head a little to make it look like I was applying blush on my cheeks. I know she'll fry me for following Alpha Damon. She groaned and tapped the table to make a little noise. "How many times do I have to tell you that his heart is built of stone? Now you cried because he didn't accept your proposal? I know your next move, girl." A sigh escaped on my lips. That's how good she is at analyzing what happened. She's like a cop who's really good at deductions. Should I ask her next if she can deduct if her cousin would save me? "Your wedding is in three days. Your mom announced it before you came in. It's rushed. Now I think there's something wrong," she mumbled while looking at me. Of course, now she can feel it. I never thought that the man I just met would be my husband in three days. "I can't do anything, your cousin just rejected me. I'm going to marry Geib and live here for the rest of my life," I stated and looked at the keychain in my hand. It's Alpha Damon's keychain that he left in the garden. I saw it before I left the garden. Her hands reached my shoulder and gave me an assuring look. "Don't worry, let's see if something good happens on your wedding day."
