The door to the SJA office opened and Lieutenant Colonel Campbell came in with a serious look on his face. “Sir,” he said, “I hear they brought in some detainees that look like they may have been roughed up by the 3rd Battalion’s Quick Reaction Force.”
Even though Campbell had completed several investigations, Beck still considered him to be a pain in the ass. Everyone knew Campbell’s ultimate goal was to get himself a Combat Action Ribbon, and the Division investigations gave him the opportunity to travel to just about every camp in Iraq.
