Rogues

“There have been reports of rogues around the other packs” Fabian, my best friend and beta said to me, handing me the papers that recorded the results of their investigation. “Is that something I should be worried about? They can sort themselves out, it's not like I gave a damn about other packs or werewolves” I replied, flinging the stack of papers on the table, my hand reaching straight to my phone. There was a video I was watching and I needed to finish it. “I thought you hated rogues?” He asked with raised brows. I looked at him briefly before tsking “I hate rogues…yeah but that doesn't mean I'm some kind of mother Mary with a sympathetic heart or a super hero with a cape who would go about killing them even if they are not around my territory” wow longest conversation I had ever had since this week “But …” he wanted to say something but I cut him short “Fabian, Don't you have something to do? I thought Dora was pregnant, why don't you accompany your wife” I snapped. I was tired of him breathing down my ear. He was my best friend, yeah, he was my beta but that didn't mean he could Intervene in my personal decisions. “I'm sorry” he apologized with his heads bowed like a child who had committed a crime. I sighed and looked at him, now he was trying to make me feel guilty and damm it was working perfectly fine “ See, Fabian I didn't say you shouldn't worry about the other pack out there but don't ask me to do anything about them , you can go help them but as for me…count me out” I replied and leaned deeply into my seat. Fabian stared at me for some minutes before he sighed. “Such a heartless follow” he said and walked out of my office, closing the door with a soft click I raised up my phone and exhaled, raking my hands through my hair The thoughts of rogues being sighted around was quite disturbing to me especially after I had lost someone I cherished to rogues but the thing was that I was the kind of person who minded my business, even if someone was dying in front of me and needed my help, It wouldn't help them because they were not family or friends People called me ruthless, heartless and all sorts of things behind my back but I didn't give a damn. None of them could say it in front of me because they were all cowards. © © © “SEB!I'm back!” I didn't need to see who was talking to know who it actually was. It was my ex girlfriend Lisa , someone I had dated on and off before. She bounced into my office, a gleeful smile on her face. “I missed you So much” she gushed and pounced on me, I stretched out my hands and caught her . A small smile on my face. “Good afternoon to you too Lisa” I greeted, knowing that I would never get a greeting. Lisa was someone who was optimistic and cheerful, always trying to give people a piece of the extremely large joy in her heart. I guess that was the main reason we dated. I had met her during one of my raids on the rogues, then she was just a young and green beginner enforcer working for the council of supernaturals. She was enthusiastic towards everyone and that was what had drawn me to observe her. At some point I had mistakenly saved her and she stuck to me, insisting on treating me to a meal. I finally relented under her hell mode persuasion and from there we dated, though it wasn't for long . Lisa had been the.one to break up with me, according to her I was like some Piace if dry wood that refused to absorb moisture from the air. And that was my first and only relationship till now. “Do you miss me! Because I miss my cut Sebastian” she exclaimed pinching my cheeks. I threw her hands away and scowled at her Gosh! Thank the goddess I broke up with this girl, I pity for the one who would eventually get to marry her “I didn't miss you and please unhand me, stop being so touchy with me”. I scolded her , " Lisa pouted and folded her arms behind her back before she looked at me with bright eyes. “We have a lot of catching up to do Sebastian! You don't know how long I have been waiting to have another mission in this place and with you” she squealed. I looked at her in surprise and shock “ What do you mean by another mission? Did something happen?” I asked “So you mean that the council of elders wants to intervene?” I asked with an interested tone, caressing the large diamond on the ring that I wore on the middle finger of my left hand. We were in a small diner that was close to the pack house. Lisa had insisted that we talk about this important matter over a plate of hot steaming noodle soup and beer. Oh I almost forgot, she was a foodie. “Yes, though I don't know why, but I heard rumors that the rogues are gathering themselves under one leader” Lisa whispered to me, looking around the diner we were both in. “That's impossible! Rogues are not that intelligent! And it's hard for someone to preside over them” I exclaimed. “Shh” Lisa hushed, her hands on my lips as she looked around the diner again. “Now you see why the council wants to intervene, Rogues are fierce, strong and mindless when alone. Now imagine them coordinated, under one ruler and having tactics, it's going to be hell”. Lisa sighed, taking a gulp of her beer and belched Eww, being an enforcer had ruined her manners. “So the council wants to destroy them in the bud?” I asked , Lisa nodded her head I took a slurp of the noodles, my mind wandering around. What the hell was going on?
