CHAPTER 1 : "A HEART TRAPPED IN WEALTH"
Andrew was born into everything money could buy — grand mansions, fast cars, and endless luxuries. Yet, beneath all the glamour, he carried a heart colder than the winter winds. Emotions were seen as weakness in his world, and caring for others was a lesson he was never taught.
(Father discussing the arranged marriage with Andrew at the dinner table)
Father (sternly):"This marriage isn't about love, Andrew. It's about loyalty, business, and honor. You will do as you’re told."
Andrew (dryly):"Of course. How silly of me to think my life was actually mine."
(Mother trying half-heartedly to comfort Andrew)
Mother (distracted, sipping wine):"It’s not so bad, darling. She comes from a good family. You'll learn to tolerate her."
Andrew (mocking smile):"What a beautiful definition of marriage — ‘tolerate.’"
(Father losing patience with Andrew's attitude)
Father (coldly):"You are nothing without this family name. Remember that before you embarrass us all."
Andrew (standing up, voice sharp):"If the name is all I have, maybe you should’ve given me something else to be proud of."
(Mother when Andrew storms out after an argument)
Mother (sighing to Father):"He's young. He'll understand when he’s older."
Father (grimly):"He doesn’t have the luxury of youth anymore. It's time he starts acting like a young man.
(Andrew alone in his room, texting a friend or staring blankly at the ceiling)
Andrew (muttering to himself):"Everyone wants to put burden on me and not even a single person wants to now how I am and how I feel when they put their decisions on me without me knowing."
SCENE 2 : A CHANCE ENCOUNTER
(Later that evening, Andrew drives his black Mustang furiously through the city streets. He stops at a small café, needing air — and accidentally bumps into someone as he gets out.)
Alice (stumbling, dropping her small bag):"Oh! I’m sorry — I didn’t see you!"
Andrew (irritated, brushing his jacket):"Watch where you're going, will you?"
Alice (nervous but polite):"I said I’m sorry... It was an accident."
(She bends down to gather her things. Her hands tremble slightly.)
Andrew (pausing, noticing her worn shoes and fragile frame):"Whatever. Just... be careful."
(He turns to leave, but for some reason, glances back once.)Alice (quietly to herself):
"Some people forget how to be human..."
Andrew (hearing her, frowning):"What did you say?"
Alice (blushing, embarrassed):"Nothing. I didn’t mean to be rude."
(He studies her for a second longer. Something about her — the honesty? The sadness? — bothers him.)
Andrew (gruffly):"Forget it."
(He walks inside the café. She disappears down the street.)
SCENE 3 : WORLS COLLIDE
(At Alice’s home — a small, worn-out apartment.)
Andy (her elder sister, tossing a bag at her):
"Here. Wash my clothes. And clean up before Mom gets home, or she’ll start screaming again."
Alice (softly):"Can I rest for a bit first? I had a long shift..."
Andy (sneering):"Oh, poor princess. Life’s tough, huh? You should be grateful we even took you in."
Alice (lowering her eyes, whispering):"I am grateful."
Andy (mocking):"Then act like it."
(She slams her door, leaving Alice standing alone in the messy living room.)
SCENE 4 : A TWIST FATE
(The next afternoon, Andrew’s father drags him to visit a construction site — to meet Clarissa and her father, the architect. Andrew is sulking when he spots a familiar figure across the street — Alice, carrying heavy boxes.)
Father (talking business, not noticing):"After the marriage, we’ll have full partnership. Everything will fall into place."
Andrew (half-listening, staring at Alice struggling with the load):"Yeah. Everything except me."
(Without thinking, he crosses the road.)
Andrew (calling out sharply):"Hey, you. Need help?"
Alice (startled, recognizing him, shaking her head):"No, I’m fine. Really."
Andrew (shrugging):"Suit yourself. Struggling suits you, too."
(He regrets the harshness the moment it leaves his mouth.)
Alice (looking hurt, turning away):"At least I’m used to it."
(Something inside Andrew twists — guilt? Annoyance? He’s not sure.)
Andrew (gruffly):"Wait. Give me one box."
(Before she can refuse, he takes it.)
Alice (murmuring):"Thank you..."
Andrew (awkward):"Don’t get used to it."
(But secretly, he finds her gratitude disarming.)
SCENE 5 : SEEDS OF CHANGE
(They sit for a few minutes on a bench after finishing the work.)
Alice (hugging her knees):"You look like someone who has everything. But you seem... angry. All the time."
Andrew (smirking bitterly):"And you look like someone with nothing... but you smile anyway. That’s even worse."
Alice (softly):"Maybe because I know what it’s like to have nothing. You don't miss what you never had."
(Andrew falls silent. For once, he doesn’t have a cruel comeback.)
Andrew (quietly, almost to himself):"Maybe I miss things I never had too."
Alice (offering a small smile):"Then maybe... you’re not as empty as you think."
(Their eyes meet — something raw, something real flickers between them. Neither says anything more. The city hums around them, but for the first time, Andrew feels something he can’t name.)
