Chapter 37: Zyle, the ice master

Running in the stairs toward the 4th floor Ren. Encounter the pink-haired girl from the Integrity Knights.

"Yuna?"

"Ren?"

"Sorry, Ren but I can let you go since you have different goals to ours. Holy sword magic: Chain sword."

Yuna cast her spell and tie-down Ren's body.

"This is not the time to fight each other. We should fight together."

"That's Kuro's original plan but you and your friend have different goals. Our goal is to stop the witch forever by killing the vessel. Sorry that we fool you before about telling you lies."

"Hikari is not like that... I will find a way to release Hikari to that witch. Just give me time."

Yuna looks into Ren's eye's and said:

"Sorry, but I can't do that... the witch is one of the most terrifying creatures in this world. The level beyond god-level adventurer and ability to destroy the world. You should be thinking for the greater of many than the greater for yourself. Stop being selfish that you are now. Sacrificing one life is not bad when the world is in pinch."

Said Yuna.

Ren loves Hikari from the bottom of his heart can't just accept that and stay silent.

said Aria and cast magic on Ren and Yuna. Refreshing their energy and magic at the same time.

Ren and Yuna feel that they regain their power back after the long fight they have been through.

"believe me I just want to see epic fights... Wait, I will use my sensing to identify the people fighting above us... Umm... It's beast energy so it's Glator and another beast like an adventurer."

Ren can't seem to visualize Yusael and William with a beast-like presence. Ren started to become confused about who is the challenger that battle Glator.

Yuna makes the chain disappeared and decided to enter the 4th room together.

"Ren, We still have different goals. I don't trust you at all."

"So tsundere... Just say you want Ren's help... Miss tsundere."

"Grrrr..."

Yuna tried to hit Aria once again.

"What an annoying fairy you have there?"

Ren stays silent and looks away.

Opening the door of 4th floor.

Ren and Yuna were surprised by the battle going on in the room.

Pithon and Glator toe to toe in the battle. Claws and swords clashing together. the speed and the power are so intense Ren and Yuna can't even decide to join the battle.

"Whoah! Glator and a chaleger... Epic battle! Epic battle! epic battle!"

Aria shouted in joy as she looks at the two beasts clashing with a smile on their face.

"That other guy is Pithon of Red robe terrorist?"

Said Ren.

"You battle him in Celest city, right? Where the one that gives you that mission before and meets scarlet there."

"What are you saying?"

Asked Ren.

"We basically want you to join Scarlet-sama. Integrity knights work for Scarlet."

Ren didn't know this before, and as the truth revealed. Ren thinks that Scarlet is really someone that stops evil. Ren started to think that Scarlet wanted to kill Hikari all this time.

"Chance! Let's go upward."

Said Yuna.

Ren agreed and run as fast as they can toward the staircase toward the 5th floor. the 5th floor and 6th that don't have any guard.

Make it easy to climb up.

Opening the door to the 5th floor they saw nothing and go directly to the 6th floor and they battle no one again. the stairs are so high toward the 7th floor, that will make time for them to rise.

Aria meanwhile is on the 4th floor watching the two battle together.

Entering the 7th floor a demon contractor finally appeared.

"Finally someone shows up... I was so excited I already equip my guardian to myself..."

Wearing an azure blue armor with a water-like spear in his hand. A demon contractor named Zyle appeared.

"Water? That's the best counter to my flame."

"Ice barrier!"

Covering every exit with a thick layer of ice. Zyle started his battle.

"This chill, eat up some magic."

Said Yuna.

"In my territory, I'm always in advantage."

Said Zyle.

Demon contractor of Ice demon Zyle. His Ice barrier magic makes everything frozen. The chilly breath Ren and Yuna having. Ren and Yuna's speed decrease constantly.

"Flames."

Ren set his sword blazing to warm up his body.

"Sword Magic: Flaming sword."

Yuna makes a sword of the flame of her own to warm herself.

"Using Flame magic in this situation. My attribute is Water and Ice. If you use Fire then I will use water... Water magic: Water dragon roar!"

As Zyle thrust his lance toward Ren and Yuna. The tip of the lance started to stretch in the form of water and make ahead of a dragon. The dragon then breathes a high-power water blast.

Yuna and ren's feet were frozen in the Ice making them unable to move.

"This can't be."

The water blast directly hit Ren and Yuna.

"In my territory, I always remain victor... Two of you have no chance of winning... Ice magic: Ice cage... followed by my lance again... Water magic: Water dragon breath."

Another direct hit from Zyle. Yuna and Ren were in pinch.

With the Ice barrier constantly eating magic and energy. Ren and Yuna are slowly getting tired and sleepy. They started to feel exhausted.

Ren said and stand up with his flame still on fire.

Ren's sword flame blaze brightly and steadily. Zyle started to think deeply about "Why that flame is not dead yet?" With the zero degrees temperature on the floor. any kind of flame should be erased. Like the flame Yuna just used.

Yuna looks to Ren and notices the change.

With the battle, Ren has earlier. His stats and attack power increased. Making Ren an Exceeder that is in Paladin level. Exceeder is a type of person that rival the power of impossible strong opponents. Exceeders said to exceed their limit faster than anyone. Unlocking magic and skills in hopeless situations faster than anyone.

With his will synchronized to the flame of the guardian reside the flaming sword.

The heat from the sword melted the Ice barrier and the strong heat make Zyle shocked and fear the man in front of him.

Yuna who is in a hopeless situation a moment ago feels the heat. But instead of getting a burn, the heat is quite gentle and ward in her feeling. Unlike the sensation Zyle having right now. Zyle felt that he was melting with his Ice armor.

"Demon contract release... I can't be defeated by a flame user!"

Zyle then goes berserk and changes its form.

"Changing form like the puppet of Aria? Aria really boosted my attack power. Thanks to her I can do this... Flaming zone."

The flaming zone is Ren's new skill after increasing his stats in paladin level. The flaming zone makes the target area to be in great heat the same as the destructive flame in the flaming sword. The heat exceeds 10,000 degrees to the enemies and the warm as 25 degrees to an ally. The flaming zone also boosted any flaming magic and nullify any water magic-related cast.

Zyle changes forme into a serpent-like monster and started to attack Ren with his water breath. before it hit Ren the water evaporated in great heat.

"This can't be... This can't be..."

"Sorry, but I'm in a hurry..."

Ren stain and make a stance. A stance targeting the heart of the serpent. In an earlier fight, Ren learns his lesson and notice that the demon contractor can be killed when the heart is price by in the tense amount of magic.

The flames of ren change color to violet as he focuses his skill in a one-shot range.

"This is the end... Fusion flame thrust!"

Yuna can believe how fast Ren evolves in one day.

A hole from Ren's attack was seen and The serpent's body started to burn away in ashes.

"That was amazing..."

Yuna muttered.

Ren then falls to the ground after using an intense amount of skill that he never used before.

"That was hard... I lost nearly everything of my energy and magic."

Ren said and the flame on his sword is gone.

Using such power gives Ren recoil. Yuna realized it because she also has such trap cards magic in her sleeves when a certain time comes.

"Sorry, I'm not much of help earlier."

"Don't worry about it."

"... It's already 3:30 AM... the sun will rise on 6:00 AM. I think we have time to rest for a bit before rising on another floor."

Ren agreed and rest with Yuna on the 7th floor to restore their energy.

Yuna opens an inventory and gets some food to eat. Yuna offers it to Ren. In Yuna's hand, it's a sandwich with plenty of filling inside. Yuna also gives ren juice drinks to replenish his thirst.

"I never knew that you have a feminine side."

Ren teased Yuna. Yuna reply by making Ren's head.

"... I mean you always look serious and never take a joke."

"Just eat and don't talk."

"This sandwich is so big I might not able to eat it all. Here have some."

Ren then takes half of the sandwich and gives it to Yuna.

Yuna then looks into Ren's eye's and said:

"Are you into me?"

"Of course not I like Hikari."

"I see, no romantic feelings on this. I will gladly take it."

"I started to feel like every girl dislikes me in some way."

That makes Ren remember Hanayuki as she continuously says that they have no relationship. And Alicia said that she has no interest in him.

At this point, Ren looks at his reflection in crystal and thinks if he is ugly or something.

"Don't worry you're not that ugly."

Yuna said.

"Eeekk... How did you know? I'm checking myself."

"Did I hit the mark? You look cool in some way and you're a kind man. I can feel that. An average girl might really like someone like you. But in my case love is just an obstacle. I don't want it."

Said Yuna.

"How about Kuro? Both of you work together with the longest. I was thinking if you two are dating."

"Kuro... Kuro is nice and a leader in my eyes. I can't see him as a romantic partner. Also, I have someone set my heart on, but he seems to have someone he likes already..."

This is the first time Ren saw Yuna look so sad. ren became curious about who is this man and asked.

"No, you don't know him. almost no one knows him. He is kind, gentle, cool, and calm-minded. I like him so much. His name is Amiya. Amiya Travestor the man that I look up to and respect so much."

Yuna started to look so happy and started tales about Amiya. Amiya that Ren never has a clue on who he was. But as long as Yuna is having fun talking Ren just continues to listen to Yuna's stories.

After one hour.

"Amiya is so cool I can even make a whole book in how cool he was."

Yuna is still ongoing. Ren started to feel tired of it.
