Chapter 61: Turning point

“Where I am? What is this place?”

Around me, all I see are many books scattered on the floor and big bookshelves containing many different books. Books with different colors, sizes, and thicknesses.

I put my hand to my head and try to remember the past happening.

Princess Yusael invited me to talk and then a blinding light suddenly appeared.

That light swallowed both of us.

While I’m still confused about the events. A girl with long black hair and pretty green eyes walked toward me with cookies and tea in her hand.

“You’re finally awake.”

She said and placed down the tea and snack to the table. She prepared two servings and sat down.

“Who are you?”

“I think you’re really confused now Ren. Please have a seat and eat first.”

She calmly offered and sip her tea.

I accepted her offer and sat down opposite her. Looking around again. I think I’m inside a library

I take one of the cookies and take a bite.

“Is it good?”

“Well, it’s so so…”

“It’s sad I really did my best in baking. Ren, you’re so terrible at least praise a pretty girl for her effort.”

“I don’t want to drag this conversation, can you tell me where I am and what is this place?”

“You’re inside a world that exists nowhere. This is my personal space made by myself. My name is Akashic and I’m one of the gods. This place is called the library of records. This library contains everything, when I mean everything, I mean everything. It even contains your life from past, present, and future.”

“Then Why am I here?”

“I saved you… You’re life suppose to end in that world. I save you because I caught some special interest in you and I wanted your adventure to continue. Like Yusael said that world can be destroyed at a press of a button in the real world. Apparently, the real world attempted to do that. As a result, a huge conflict between Artificial intelligence and humans. Everything is supposed to be doom, but I don’t like everything to be destroyed just like that. I save you to continue this endless story.”

“I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”

“Well, I already expected then let me explain it with visuals.”

The library suddenly disappeared in white light and we are transported to a place I have never seen before.

It looks like our world, but it’s different. I can’t see anyone using magic or adventurers. In this world, people seem busy walking and going to work. Kids and people my age is in school studying.

Above in the sky, there is a giant metal bird fly and passes by.

“What is that metal dragon?”

“That’s not a dragon. That’s an airplane.”

“Airplane?”

“It’s a result of one’s effort and dream to fly in the sky. It’s really amazing. No one ever thinks that a human will fly in the sky. People laugh at the creator of the first airplane. They both do their best and prove that people are wrong. They made the impossible possible. An airplane is one of the fruits of technology.”

“Does that mean I’m also a fruit of technology? And one of these people created me.”

“Correct, you’re the fruit of technology. Artificial intelligence is created using the invention of a dreamer named Harusaki Alice… Harusaki Alice has a dream of living in a fantasy world. She always dreams of using magic, riding on a dragon, and having a great adventure. Those are impossible to achieve if you use the logic of this world. This world doesn’t run on magic and dragon only exist in fiction… One day, Harusaki Alice made up her mind and study. She studies computer science and became a programmer. She started making Virtual reality games and eventually made the world she always dreaming. It’s a popular game called ‘New world Online’. In this game, a player can dive in using headgear and experience the wonder of a new world. But the game has secrets. Harusaki Alice trapped all the consciousness of the player inside the game making it a death game. Thousand of people die in the game. The only way to escape it is to clear the game. Harusaki Alice already achieves her goal and dream… Then the heroes appeared. It’s a group of players lead by Hiyami Kanna in another identity of Hanayuki. They clear the game and save the players inside.”

Hiyami Kanna is Hanayuki. That means Hanayuki is not from our world. She is from this world, she is a real human.

“Hanayuki is a hero all this time… It’s really interesting to know this, but what is its connection to our world? And, why our world is created?”

Akashic then continues the story.

“After they clear the game, Harusaki Alice committed suicide with a satisfied expression on her face. She didn’t even regret anything, even for the fact that she killed thousands of people. The company lead by Harusaki Alice was then inherited by her sister named Harusaki Yuna. This girl is the one who created your world. The one that created the Overworld in a project they called One’s Eden.”

The surrounding disappeared and then we are back in the library.

“... What happened after that? Tell me more about it.”

“It’s going to be boring if I tell everything to you. I already save you and give you some information. You should give me something before I tell you something more.”

“What do you want?”

Akashic makes a smile and looks at my face.

“I want more of your story. I know that you want to find your happiness. To make your spirit on fire… I will say that Hikari is also in that world. Including Hakayuki and some of the others.”

“You’re a god then you can just give me Hikari.”

“That’s out of my power… It’s not my creation, that new world your waking up is not created by me. It’s created by another god… It’s boring if you find happiness instantly, you should work hard for it.”

I see this god wants me to find happiness.

I should be grateful to her, for saving me and telling me this information.

I still didn’t know the whole story but eventually, I know I will learn it.

All I have to do for now is do my best in his new world.

“Thank you very much for saving me, Also, for giving me a chance to find happiness. I will do my best to meet your expectation.”

I then bow my head to her to show my appreciation.

She averted her eye’s away.

“Don’t thank me, you don’t know me. I’m a horrible god you know.”

“Still, it does change the fact that I owe you my life.”

“You’re so well manner… Then, let me give you this as a gift.”

Akashic get my flaming sword and hand it over to me.

“It’s my flaming sword.”

I start my journey with this sword and this time I’m starting with this again. Its flame is the symbol of my will.

This sword is me.

“Find out the truth in you’re own and find your own happiness. I won’t help you next time. When you die in that world you really die.”

“I will be careful.”

“I wish you luck.”

After Akashic said those words.

The surrounding disappeared and lost my consciousness. When I open my eyes I found myself laying in the thick moss under a big tree.

I’m in a grassy plain.

This place looks like my previous world.

I don’t have time to waste here. Akashic said that Hikari is also in this world. I need to find her soon.

I don’t have any navigation in this world. All I can do is walk until I find a town or city. I need to learn how this world works first and travel.

If I travel enough I’m sure fate will bring me to Hikari.

Thus, my new journey in this new world started.
