The limousine ride was awkward but that was not on top of my priority list of worries. Hell, I just got married? And to the Royal Prince? How the hell did this happen overnight? Throughout the whole ride, I was severely wishing that this is all a lie. I am just dreaming and I will wake up to Liz’ and Gillian’s voices in three…two…one… Hell no. This is really happening?! I looked around this extravagant limousine. I’ve always imagined how luxurious limousines could be but sitting here still puts me in awe. There are wines and other liquors with some expensive-looking glasses in a mini bar. There are three huge couches made up of high class leather. There’s a TV set coupled with some branded stereos. This is how luxurious the life of a member of the royal family is! And what did Mr. Gregor say happened again? I married the prince? I shook my head and started to call Liz. Her phone is ringing but no one’s answering. “Come on, Liz! Pick up…” I mumbled as I waited for someone to answer the call. “Hello…” A sleepy, hoarse voice answered. My eyes widened and I grew excited. “Liz?!” I exclaimed. “Where are you?” I heard her yawning from the other line. “Huh? I’m at a hotel right now. Your husband booked it for us. Gillian and I stayed here overnight.” I paused for a moment as I let her words sink in to me. Wait, wait, wait, wait…wait! “Husband?!” I screamed at the phone. I heard Liz’s curses from the other line. She probably didn’t expect my screaming. “Yes! You married Prince Harris Charlemagne last night!” She screamed back with the same intensity as I did seconds ago. “What?!” Fuck! Now it’s real! Now I can’t deny the fact anymore! I was busy thinking about all the possible excuses I could think of but now that Liz has already slapped me with the truth, I cannot think about anything anymore. “Come on, Sam. You were so all over him last night. He asked you to marry him when we were dancing in the club.” Liz narrated. “You didn’t even think twice and just said yes to him in a blink! Gillian and I thought you really wanted to be a part of the royal family.” “I didn’t even know who he is!” Liz laughed. “We figured when you were shocked that he brought us to the palace last night. But seriously? You really didn’t have a clue who he is?” “No!” I replied with conviction. “Look, someone went to our place this morning and right now I am in a limousine on the way to the palace because “The Prince” wants to see his “wife”.” I told her without pausing. Liz continued to laugh on the other line. “So he took you home last night? I really had the impression that he’d let you stay in the palace with him.” She teased. “Liz! Stop it!” I scolded her. “The point is, I don’t know anything about this! I wasn’t conscious last night! I was drunk! And now I woke up and I’m already married? I haven’t even graduated yet!” Liz sighed. “Come on, Sam. You don’t need to work anyway! You married a royalty.” She told me and I scolded her again. “But seriously, you’re legal. It’s not like it’s wrong to get married before graduation!” I whined. Does she even understand what I am talking about? “That’s not what I mean! I mean, what am I going to say to my mother in New Jersey? I’m never ever going to have the guts to show my face to my Mom again!” “She’s coming over anyway. So, don’t worry and just have the guts to introduce your husband, who happens to be the Prince of Louxuria, to her.” She advised. Like that helped me calm down. She’s got to be kidding me! I will not have the guts to tell my mother that I got married by accident! Mom’s going to disown me! “Look, Sam. You are married and there’s nothing wrong with that. You just need to explain it to your mom and then you’re good. It’s not like you’re still a baby anyway,” Liz said. I sighed and tried to calm myself. I’m not going to solve this by breaking down and going hysterical. I have to think right. I have to think straight. “Alright, I’m just going to take care of this for now.” I told her trying to dismiss this topic. “I suggest that you enjoy it.” I cringed at her suggestion. “I mean, he’s hot and he seems totally into you!” I laughed at her mockingly. “I’m not interested in him!” I insisted. Liz just laughed. “Oh, Sam! If you’re not interested in him then why were so quick to answer him that you’ll marry him, huh?” My eyes widened and I paused for a moment. I was so quick to answer him I’ll marry him? That is not possible! No! “I was drunk!” Reasons are coming my way. Liz roared in laughter. “Yeah, right! Deny more…as if that’ll help you…” she teased. I rolled my eyes and shook my head. “You know what? I’ll be hanging up. I’ll talk to you soon, alright?” I told her. She laughed. “Yes, Your Highness! Talk to you soon!” And then she hung up. I sighed and tried to calm myself. Mr. Gregor peeked from the small window. “We’re here, Your Majesty,” he said. My eyes widened and I almost fell down from my seat. “What?!” I asked hysterically. Mr. Gregor smiled. “Do you need some time to get ready?” Some time? SOME time? No. I need a lot of time. No. I don’t think I’ll ever be ready for this. I’ve never imagined my life to end up like this! I wished for a wonderful wedding! Not a shotgun marriage! I wanted it to be with the man I love. Not with the man I just met from a bar! “Yes, please.” I replied as I calmed myself down. Mr. Gregor nodded and closed the small window. Now, I’m more nervous. I looked at myself. What am I wearing? A boyfriend shirt and a pair of rugged jeans. My eyes widened when I saw the footwear I have on. A pair of sneakers?! Sneakers! This is not the perfect outfit for meeting with the royal family! I bit my lip and shut my eyes while trying to inhale and exhale deeply. This will all be okay. Or at least I try to think that way. Mr. Gregor allowed me enough time for my pep talk to myself. And that, I’m grateful for. When I opened the door, I saw him standing there with at least ten men in their security uniform. There are black huge, furry hats on their heads as they sport a red suit and a black pair of pants. My eyes widened when I stood up and saw how huge the palace really is up close. I’ve never been this close to the palace. I’ve only seen it from the outside because visitors aren’t allowed inside the residence of the royal family. “This way, Your Highness.” Mr. Gregor told me as he motioned his hand towards the enormous door. Now that looks like it would fit a fifty me all at once. What’s the deal with huge doors anyway? The soldiers started to part into half as I walked. I looked at them in surprise, trying to see if anyone of them would show me at least some emotions but there was none. Everyone of them have neutral facial expressions—like what we see on TV shows and movies! I tried to shrug all the shock off as I followed Mr. Gregor towards the double door. Now, that I am near it, I can see that the whole door is made up of gold! It is shimmering and I there’s no doubt that it’s made up of gold! I was left in awe—completely flabbergasted—as we strutted towards the inside. A grand staircase welcomed me, and its handle was also lined with gold! Real gold! I can’t believe they would waste away so many gold for a staircase! And for a door! There is yet again, another huge double glass door in the middle of the staircase. Mr. Gregor walked inside and I followed suit with all the soldiers following me behind. Mr. Gregor is so nice to me because he keeps me very entertained. But then it doesn’t help that he keeps discussing the history of every photo and painting that hung on the walls of the palace! Anyhow, I listened and tried to understand what he was saying. I looked around and can’t help but feel amazed at the paintings on the wall and on the ceiling. I knew that the palace is grand and luxurious. But I have never thought—not even in my wildest dreams—that I’ll be here, walking through the corridors while being called Your Highness or Your Majesty. I wasn’t born to be a royalty. But then now that everyone’s bowing at me whenever I walk past them, I feel like I am. Or am I really? Mr. Gregor stopped at a huge door. There were two maids waiting at the door who opened it when Mr. Gregor said so. “Good morning, Your Highness.” The maids chorused as I walked past them. I looked at them and bit my lip, embarrassed at what they just called me. I wouldn’t get used to this. The room is huge, just as I expected. There are huge windows with at least three piles of curtains on each. There is a huge Greek couch with some pillows while there are some normal couches opposite it. By normal I mean they resemble the ones sold in some luxurious department store. There is also a huge flat screen TV which I think would cover up at least half of the whole wall with, of course, a huge sound bar and a few stereos. Now that I come to think of it, is this the living room? “Good morning, Prince Harris.” I heard Mr. Gregor say. My eyes widened and I immediately stiffened on my spot. I slowly looked at the direction of the Prince and was almost shocked when I saw the hottie in the club last night! He’s wearing a nice blue suit over a white T-shirt and a pair of black jeans as he stood tall in front of me. His dark blue eyes are looking deep in mine as he walked closer. Is it possible to get lost inside someone’s eyes? Because I think I am. How can his eyes say so many words without even mouthing them? “My wife,” he said in a low voice as he took my hand and pulled me closer to him. Damn? He smells so good! “Did you have a great sleep?” He asked again like we really know each other. I looked at him and bit my lip. Everything doesn’t fit. Am I lost in time? Why don’t I remember how close we were last night? Why is he acting like he knew me all his life? Prince Harris looked at everyone behind me. “You may all leave us first,” his thick British accent is so sexy to listen to. Really, Sam? That’s what you’re thinking now? I sighed and looked at Mr. Gregor and the rest of the soldiers leave the room. Suddenly, I felt unsafe. Mr. Gregor has earned my trust somehow and now that he’s leaving me, I feel alone. I waited for the doors to close before pushing him away. “What the hell happened?” I almost screamed at Prince Harris. He smirked at bit his lip. “You married me, apparently.” He said like it’s the most natural and normal thing in the world. “I don’t remember.” I shook my head. He chuckled. “You saw the marriage certificate. We are married.” He insisted. I narrowed my eyes at him. “I don’t even know you!” “Oh yeah? Right after last night, I’m pretty sure you know me so well.” My eyes widened. “What?” Now, I’m hysterical. “Did something happen last night? Between us?” He c****d his head to the side and stared at me as he crossed his arms against his chest. “You mean you don’t know that we had s*x last night?” He asked curiously. My eyes widened at his words. “Oh my goodness. Did we have s*x last night?!” Now, I lost it. I’m not hysterical. I am starting to go crazy! The Prince roared into laughter after hearing what I just said. I looked at his confused. “Oh, dear! You should have seen your face! It’s priceless!” He beamed and I even got more annoyed at him. He kept laughing for a full five minutes nonstop while I stare at him, shooting daggers hoping they would work on him. But they don’t. So, did we have s*x? Damn!
