Chapter 1
Hailey's POV:
It was another morning in these cold woods. I was perched on top of the tree I normally slept in, and you might be thinking, 'Why don't you just sleep in a hotel or something?'
Well I tried, but I just couldn't find comfort in doing so. It's not like i'm in my own world, with my friends and family anyways. Nature had always been the second best thing for me. I might be 114 years old, but I have been in a lucid dream like state for 100 of it. It was probably due to the fact that I had been transported into this world, but for me to get home, I must first take revenge on the soul person who put me in this horrible place. Only then will I be able to leave knowing I have avenged my best friend.
His existence was always full of bright warm rays of light, a powerful mage in our guild who shall be remembered. It pains me to know he was the one who perished in the fight. I swore to kill Aaron Swan if it was the last thing I would have to do- and i'm not one to kill because I have always been against it. I've made an exception for this one person; no monster.
I know this is where he resides, in the world of supernatural beings; stupid warlock thought he could leave unscathed.
I got up and stretched my aching bones. The trees sure weren't comfortable but I've managed for the past month I've been here. Looking around I noticed the birds were more chirpy today. Apparently I'm in the woods of this country called America. Odd enough they've named the state Florida. It's always hot around here too, and there are lots of amazing beaches with sand white as snow.
I hopped off the tree and proceeded to the nearby river I found a couple nights ago. I washed my face and brushed my hair with my hands. I then left to find some edible fruit I could have for breakfast.
Sitting down with an apple and banana in hand I began to eat. With the height of the sun I would say it was about 10 AM in the morning. While munching on my fruit, I sensed a presence coming my way. I quickly got into a fighting stance, waiting for this unknown possible threat to come out.
Suddenly, a short girl with dirty blonde hair came tumbling out of the bushes panting heavily. She looked to be exhausted as though she were running for quite some time. I stopped and waited for a bit, sniffing the air for more to come but nobody else came. I sensed no other presence, so I slowly approached the girl to see if she was alive still. "Hey.." I said, walking closer.
No response, so I went over and dragged her under the shade of the trees and MAN! She was not light. From there I helped her until she woke up.
