All because I questioned why they refused to send the fake daughter back to her real family, my mother had me taken away for human AI modification.

After the chip was implanted, I became the perfect obedient daughter. Whatever command she gave, my body would obey instinctively, beyond my control.

One day, I secretly followed her and Chloe to a banquet and overheard her chatting with a group of wealthy socialites.

"I had no choice. Ever since that girl came back, she's been targeting Chloe nonstop, always insisting Chloe doesn't belong to this family.

"I was worried she might do something extreme. Sending her for modification was the only way to make her behave. In the end, it was for her own good."

At that moment, the control tablet in her hand suddenly vibrated. The screen showed that I was no longer at home. Her expression instantly darkened. Without hesitation, she typed out a command.

Mom: Return home immediately. Stand there and don't go anywhere until I'm back.

The next second, my body completely lost control. I turned and sprinted outside like a puppet yanked by invisible strings. A speeding car slammed into me hard enough to throw me across the street, yet somehow I still staggered back to my feet and kept running.

Blood streamed down my legs with every step as I muttered over and over in a trembling voice, "I'm sorry, Mom… I'm going home right now…"

That night, when my mother finally returned home, she found me standing in the corner with my head lowered.

Chapter 1 The Obedient Daughter
All because I questioned why they refused to send the fake daughter back to her real family, my mother had me taken away for human AI obedience modification. After the chip was implanted, I became the perfect obedient daughter. Whatever command she gave, my body obeyed instinctively, completely beyond my control. One day, I secretly followed her and the fake daughter, to a banquet and overheard her chatting with a group of wealthy socialites. "I had no choice. Ever since that girl came back, she's been telling everyone Chloe isn't really part of this family. "I was worried she might do something extreme. Sending her for modification was the only way to make her behave. Everything I did was for her own good." At that moment, the control tablet in her hand suddenly vibrated. The screen showed that I was no longer at home. Her expression darkened instantly. Without hesitation, she typed out a command. Mom: Return home immediately. Stand there and don't go anywhere until I'm back. The moment the order was issued, my body lost control. I turned and bolted outside like a puppet dragged by invisible strings. A speeding car slammed into me hard enough to send me flying across the road, yet somehow I still forced myself back to my feet and kept running. Blood soaked through my clothes with every staggering step as I muttered over and over in a trembling voice, "I'm sorry, Mom… I'm going home now…" That night, when my mother finally returned home, she found me standing in the corner with my head lowered. A satisfied smile spread across her face. "Good girl. At least you know when you've done something wrong." I remained motionless, still standing exactly where she had ordered me to. Chloe wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Mom, she's filthy. She looks like a homeless beggar." My mother gently patted Chloe's head, her voice instantly softening. "Don't be rude, Chloe. Hannah understands her mistake now. She'll behave from now on." Then she turned to me and issued another command. "Go upstairs, clean yourself up, and stay in your room. You're not allowed to come out without permission." "Yes, Mom." I answered mechanically, rose to my feet, and walked upstairs without the slightest pause. The next day at lunch, the dining table was covered with dishes. My mother kept placing food onto Chloe's plate, her voice overflowing with tenderness. "Chloe, eat more fish. And here, your favorite ribs." "Thanks, Mom," Chloe mumbled happily around a mouthful of food. I sat beside them in silence, waiting for my next instruction. My mother finally glanced at me. "Eat your vegetables. No picky eating." "Yes, Mom." I picked up my fork and began eating the cold greens in front of me. They had long since gone soggy and bitter, but I kept chewing and swallowing mechanically, over and over, until my mother finally spoke again. "That's enough. Stop when you're full." Only then did I set my fork down and straighten in my seat. "See that, Chloe?" my mother said casually. "Hannah is so obedient now. She never picks at her food anymore. You should learn from her." There was no pride in her voice, only satisfaction. Chloe snorted softly, then deliberately lifted her soup bowl toward me. "Here, Hanny. Have some soup." The moment she spoke, the bowl tilted sharply. Scalding soup splashed all over my arm, instantly soaking my sleeve. "You're so clumsy," Chloe complained immediately, though triumph practically glowed in her eyes. "You couldn't even hold a bowl properly." The burning liquid seared my skin, but I didn't react at all. My mother hurried over, but instead of checking me, she grabbed napkins to wipe Chloe's hands clean before turning toward me with a cold expression. "Hannah Vale, what's wrong with you? You couldn't even catch the bowl?" Her voice sharpened with irritation. "What if Chloe had gotten burned? You're the older sister. You're supposed to protect her. Understand?" "I understand, Mom," I replied mechanically. "I'll protect Chloe." My mother called Martha, the nanny, and ordered her to take me upstairs to clean up. As Martha helped me change clothes, she suddenly froze. Dark purple bruises covered my arms and back, spreading across my pale skin in shocking patches. "Hanny…" Her voice trembled slightly. "Where did all these bruises come from? This is serious." I simply stood there blankly, without the slightest reaction. Martha kept asking, but I never answered. In the end, she could only sigh helplessly before going downstairs to find my mother. "Mrs. Vale, Hanny's covered in bruises. I don't even know what caused them, and she refuses to say a word." My mother was peeling an orange for Chloe without even looking up. "What else could it be?" she said indifferently. "She probably fell while sneaking out yesterday. Stop making such a fuss over her. Maybe suffering a little will teach her not to run around again." Martha still looked worried, but before she could continue, my mother cut her off with a cold glance. "That's enough. Go do your job. Stop worrying about things that don't concern you." After Martha left, my mother's brows slowly furrowed. Only then did she remember that shortly after issuing the command yesterday, the control tablet had suddenly vibrated in her hand. A warning had flashed across the screen: controlled subject in life-threatening condition. Critical status. System will restart automatically. The alert had startled her at the time, but when she returned home and saw me standing obediently, she had dismissed it as a system malfunction and stopped thinking about it altogether. Now, after she heard Martha's words, irritation rose in her chest once more. "That girl really is nothing but trouble," she muttered coldly. "Even after the modification, she still refuses to behave." That evening, my mother came to my room and issued another command. "You're not allowed to sleep tonight. Stand outside your door and reflect on what you did wrong by sneaking out." "Yes, Mom." I walked to the doorway and stood there perfectly straight, motionless as a statue. The next morning, my mother came out of her room and saw me still standing in the exact same position. Only then did satisfaction finally appear on her face again. "That's more like it," she said approvingly. "You're much more pleasant to look at when you're obedient. If you ever pull something like that again, your punishment will be doubled."
