WHEN I ARRIVED home from the office the next day, I went to our room as usual to change clothes, but the closet was empty, as were all of the dresser drawers, so I went in search of Philip. He was waiting for me in our new study and stood as I entered the room, so I said, “Hi, babe, are we moved in already?” Before he could answer, I covered his mouth with mine.
When we came up for air, Philip said, “You bet we are. Want to try out our new bed?”
I didn’t even waste breath on an answer. I simply took his hand and we walked into our new bedroom together, and I closed the door and locked it. When I turned back to look at Philip, he’d already pulled the covers back and had begun to shed his clothes.
