The Hidden Luna

Anya POV I woke up in my dark bedroom. No light from outside could enter my room as I had no windows. The only sign that I had of it being morning was my alarm clock going off next to my bed. My parents made me sleep in the basement ever since I tried jumping out of my third story window six years ago. Thankfully, my father grabbed onto me before I could actually try jumping out. Even though I am a werewolf, at eleven years old I could have got really hurt. My room was still very nice. I have a canopy bed with pinkish red silk curtains on both sides of my bed. A dark red comforter set with a crescent moon on it. A couple of cherry wood dressers. One with a mirror attached to it, and a blood-red couch at the foot of my bed. My parents also had a bathroom with a walk-in closet built down here for me as well. I have to admit, it was super nice. However, I did miss waking up to the sun coming through my window in my old room. I could smell my mother making breakfast upstairs and I instantly jumped out of bed and basically ran to take a quick shower. I adjusted the water, so it was just right and got in. I ran my shampoo and conditioner through my almost waist-long, wavy blonde hair and washed off my curvy body as fast as I could. I had toned muscles, large breasts, and nice plump booty. I got my muscles from all the training I have been doing basically my entire life. Being the only daughter of the beta family, I had to train twice as hard as any other warrior, but not quite as hard as an alpha's child. I took a towel and wrapped it around my hair and then wrapped another towel around my body. As I walked to my closet to get dressed, I heard my mother call downstairs to me "Anya breakfast is almost ready!" "Okay mom! I'll be up in just a minute!" I said back in a loud tone but not quite yelling. As my mother is also a werewolf, we have heightened senses, so hearing even a deer walking from a mile away was easy for us. I decided to wear a pair of my favorite black, mid-thigh long shorts with a red flowy tank top to match. I took one last look in the mirror and after brushing my fingers through my hair, I decided I liked the way I looked. Even if the outside world never got to see my face, I could at least look good for myself. After putting on my favorite pair of sneakers, I took off up the stairs. Ready for another full day of training with my mother. "Good morning Anya!" My mother hummed as I walked in the dining room and sat down at the table. It was a rectangular table with six chairs. Although there are only three of us in the house, the alpha family tends to visit us often. Since I am not allowed to leave the fenced-in area around the beta house, it's nice that they come to spend time with us every other day. I have never been told why I cannot leave the safety of the beta house or why when we have visitors that do not know of my existence, why I must hide in my bedroom until they leave. Just that it is for my own protection. I think they are all afraid of me being kidnapped or killed for just being the daughter of the beta of the most powerful pack in the western hemisphere. Therefore, the only ones who know I exist are my parents, the alpha family, and some trusted gammas and warriors. I don't even think the royals know of my existence. "Goodmorning! Are we training some more today?" I replied expecting her to start telling me what kind of training we would be doing today. "Actually, we need to talk. Your eighteenth birthday is this Saturday." She replied carefully but with the slightest bit of excitement in her voice. "What about it? I know I will get my wolf and have my first shift. You have already explained to me that it will be painful the first time and that I will be able to find my mate." I said excitedly but with questions in my voice. "Yes, you will.... but there is something else you need to know. I wish I could tell you now.. But I promised to wait for your father and the alpha family to arrive later today." She said slowly and carefully. "I just wanted to give you a heads-up and let you know we won't be training today." "How important could it be that you have to wait for not only father... but the alpha family as well??!!" I said with confusion and the slightest bit of anger and worriedness in my voice. "It's so important that you will soon come to understand why we have kept you hidden your whole life. What I can tell you though is that you will be introduced to the pack at your eighteenth birthday party. It is being held at the alpha's mansion." She said with a serious tone to her voice. I could have sworn I seen her smile even just for a second as she said this to me. I just couldn't figure out if it was a genuine smile or one of absolute panic. I stayed silent for a while, trying to figure out what could possibly be so important. Why will I finally be introduced to the pack on my birthday? Maybe it's because they want to give me a chance to find my mate! Or maybe they see that I can protect myself now, and they don't need to worry about me being out in the world anymore! Before I could go on with my thoughts, my mother spoke again. "The mate ball is two weeks after your birthday. Werewolf law requires all unmated, of age werewolves to attend. This mate ball is a bit more serious and exciting though.... the royals will be hosting it this year. The princes have yet to find their mates and the royals believe if they host it and require all unmated werewolves from all the western hemisphere packs to attend, that they will find their mates at the ball." "So not only will I be introduced to the pack for the first time... but I will also be attending the mate's ball and possibly find my mate there as well?!" I said with way too much excitement in my voice. I can't help it though I have always dreamed of leaving this house and seeing the world. Finding my mate though... I hadn't even considered that until recently, when my mother told me I would be able to find him on my eighteenth birthday, after my first shift. My mother replied "Yes you will! I am so relieved you're excited and not scared!" She said with a bright smile on her face. She was beautiful with her medium long brunette hair, bright green eyes (just like mine) and toned muscular body. She was the female beta after all. "Now you go and enjoy your day. I will call for you when everyone has arrived, and we can all have a chat about what is to come." With that, I finished eating my breakfast and went straight outside to run off all this extra energy I suddenly found. After a long run, I decided to just lie on the grass and enjoy the summer sun on my skin. Soon I drifted off to sleep. I don't know how long I was asleep, but I was awoken to the sound of my mother calling for me. "Anya, everyone has arrived. It's time for us all to have a long, serious conversation."
