Anya POV
"What happened to them? Where are they? Why did they leave me behind?" I had so many questions, but I knew I couldn't ask them all at once if I wanted all of them answered.
"It was your father and I who tracked them down near the southern packs." Alpha Isaac began. "When we found your mother, she was unconscious. She had used all of her energy fighting off a pack of rogues. We rushed her to the Blood Moon Pack's hospital and after a week she finally woke up."
"What happened after she woke up? What did she say?" I asked with so much hope and curiosity.
My father spoke up next. "I was in the room when she woke up. Alpha Isaac had stepped outside for a moment. I gave her some water and asked if she knew who I was, and she did. Then without having to ask her any questions she began to tell me everything that had happened and why she knew you would be safe in our care. This is her story."
Hannah's POV
17 Years Earlier
"I believe it is only right that I tell you everything seeing as you've traveled so far to find me. My name is Hannah, and I am Anya's mother. My mate, Anya's father, was killed by the same pack of rogues I, hopefully, finished off right before you found me. He was trying to protect Anya and me."
"There was so many of them... too many of them for him to face alone. I knew that if I had laid Anya down for even a moment to try and help fight them off that they would have taken Anya. Therefore, I did the only thing I could. I ran. I had seeked shelter high up in a tree and waited for my mate to come find us. As my mate I knew he would be able to sense the mate bond and have no problem finding me."
"After hours of waiting, the sun began rising. I came down from the tree and ran with Anya still in my arms. Hoping to find my mate alive. I found him... but he was dead. He had been killed by those rogues and I vowed I would hunt them down and finish them off for good."
"I knew that if they came for me again, I couldn't protect Anya. Not on my own. Not with her just being a week old. So, I traveled to the most powerful pack in the western hemisphere, your pack, I knew she would be kept safe there."
"It took me nearly a week to travel there on foot. I had dodged several lone rogues, as well as a hunter."
"When I finally made it to your pack, I won't lie I had a rough time getting inside and up to the alpha mansion. Thankfully I am also one of the chosen so being able to use my invisibility power helped me to easily sneak into the pack undetected."
"I gave Anya one last hug and kiss on her cheek then I rang the doorbell and watched as the Luna opened the door shocked to see a baby laying at her doorstep."
"For a moment I thought she saw me standing there right next to Anya but as I was invisible, I knew she couldn't see nor smell me. I watched as she picked Anya up, tears running down my face, I knew it was time to leave before someone noticed me or my power depleted all my energy."
"I returned here, to the southern hemisphere and began tracking down every last rogue that was a part of the attack on my mate until I could find their leader."
"Finally, I ended up where you found me. I have finally completed my mission. I got my revenge for my mate, but I killed a lot of rogues and hunters on my way. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a price tag on my head."
The beta of the Full Moon Pack finally spoke after listening to me tell my story. "Would you like to see your daughter? Maybe even have the chance to raise her? You could become a part of our pack. We could protect you both."
"I would love nothing more than to be able to raise my daughter in the safety of your pack. Do you believe your alpha would be okay with that?" I replied.
Just as I finished my sentence the alpha walked in. "I heard everything from right outside the door and yes we would love for you and your daughter to become a permanent part of our pack. Maybe you could find your second chance mate there as well."
Excitement filled me to finally have a home and be able to raise Anya in the safety of the pack. "Then yes I would love to take you up on your offer! I can't wait to see my baby girl!"
The alpha spoke again "Okay then it's settled! We will leave first thing in the morning. Get some rest, it's a long journey home."
Anya POV
Present Time
"Wait so what happened? Why is my mother not here? What happened to her?" I asked panicked.
My father responded. "When we returned the next morning to her hospital room, she was gone. She didn't leave a note or say anything to anyone. She was just gone."
Isaac continued for my father. "We stayed for another two weeks trying to find her again or find out what happened to her but we never found anything. We haven't been able to track her down since that day. Not a trace of evidence as to where she could have disappeared to. I'm sorry Anya that we have kept this from you for so long."
I stayed silent for a long moment. I didn't know what to say or ask. I felt sadness that my biological father is dead, and my mother possibly is as well.
After a long silence of no one quite knowing what to say my mother came around the table and put her hand on my shoulder. She leaned down and asked me if I had any other questions or if I just wanted to be alone for a while.
I took a second to think over everything and I didn't have any other questions. They had all been answered. Well all but one had been answered.
"So, if I could've had a normal life here in the pack with my biological mother... why was I kept hidden from the pack, the world all these years?" I asked calmly but with confusion in my voice.
Lilah spoke up instantly. Like she knew I what I was going to ask next. "We kept you hidden because the royals went on their own hunt right after your first birthday. We hadn't introduced you to the pack yet because we were still trying to find your mother. We didn't want to give the pack false hope of having one of The Chosen a part of our pack."
"The royals had started visiting every pack on the continent in search of The Chosen ones. Nobody quite knows why but we were all afraid you would be taken, and we would never see you again. Especially since none of us could pass as your biological parents. A Chosen one can only be born from another Chosen and no one in the pack is a Chosen one. Therefore, we hid you inside of the beta house all these years."
"When the royals did eventually visit our pack in search of The Chosen ones, we sent your mother and father to another pack. At least that's what we told them and since the royals were aware of the fact that your mother is not a Chosen, they didn't ask any further questions about it. They searched all the females of every age inside of the pack. Not finding any Chosen. So, they went of their way, and you stayed hidden."
I thought about this for a moment, and it all made sense but "Why were they looking for a Chosen one?" Willaim asked for me this time as if he was having the same thoughts I was having.
My mother answered this time. "They believed that one of their sons was to be mated to one of The Chosen. So in order to keep her safe until their sons as well as the Chosen one came of age. They tried to find her so they could keep her in the castle all these years. To keep her safe."
Willaim replied, "Do you think they were looking for Anya?"
