William Shepherd is a boy born in privilege. His parents were both involved in politics and his father holds a high position in the government. They were good people. Despite all the evils surrounding them, they're only one of the handful that's patriotic and true to their words.
However, their jobs ask to put their country first before anything else which had demanded their time. William grew up with only a few memories of being with his mother and father. The special occasions normal people held dearly had seemed ordinary to him for both his parents rarely celebrates with him. He's accompanied by his guardians, the people his parents deemed trustworthy.
However, they deemed them wrong.
People who came to work for his parents were members of an occult who waited for the coming of the anti-christ. They came for him who bears the mark of the devil. Without realizing this, his parents have entrusted their child to these people who seemed good upfront, despite clearing a background check.
Growing up, William became confused about how he should behave. He wanted to follow what his parents had taught him on the few occasions they were together. But due to work, he's often left at home with people who say otherwise, people who whisper bad, evil things to him.
Even without the actual demon and angel beside him, his head was already filled with whispers that battle his true nature. He somehow knew what's good and bad for the bad thing made him feel sad and terrible to the point that he couldn't sleep at night, thinking he could've done differently. And on these nights, he prays for God to forgive him, promising he'll never do the same again. But as time pass, spending more time with these people slowly made him confused.
The church knew of the prophecy for it was foretold a long time ago. They received the news of a boy born and is marked by the devil. Fearing that the end is near, they sent assassins to kill the boy, thinking that his death would hinder the coming end of days. For this, William has been in constant danger ever since his first breath. But the occult was always there to protect him.
"William, my son, your birthday is in a few days, what would you like for your birthday?" His father asked but the boy shrugs in response, looking out the window from the backseat of the car, on their way to the park.
Upon arrival, the Moon family walks around in St. James Park in London. They have been planing for a family trip for his father promised him a few months ago that they'll be having a vacation. But due to his busy schedule, they can only have a walk in the park with security agents behind them and in surrounding the area.
Rosé spotted them, walking at their pace from the other side of the stone path leading to the huge fountain in the middle of the park. She takes casual glances, observing the family and the boy. She knew there are eyes everywhere and she doesn't want to be caught by their security team for acting suspiciously.
She finally found William, thanks to Gabriel's tip.
However, as soon as they reached the fountain, Willam's father suddenly fell on the ground which alerted the agents, covering the mother and the child quickly.
William saw blood, coming out of his father's forehead... lots of blood. The man's eyes are wide open but are now lifeless and it terrified the boy, losing the father he loved dearly even if time was rare for them. However, there was no gunshot sound which means a snipper.
Looking at his own father, the boy remained frozen shock and disbelief while being held by his mother who's now weeping.
Instead of stooping down to protect her own as soon as she saw that the boy's father assassinated, Rosé immediately turns her head to the direction where she remembered the father was facing. She found a hooded figure holding a snipper gun who's now pointing at the boy.
She immediately raced towards the man. Before another shot was fired, the gun flew off the man's hand as she got there in time, breaking the man's wrist, then throwing him off the ground, falling on his stomach
She immediately moved pressed her knee on the back of the man's knee then twisted one of his arms behind his back.
"Who are you?!" She exclaimed as she forcefully twisted the man's arm even tighter. The man let out a loud grunt due to unbearable pain but she knew he wouldn't answer that easily. She twisted it more to the point of almost breaking it.
"The boy must die!" The man shouted in defeat, the pain was clear and obvious in his voice.
"Who sent you?!" She asked, her patience near breaking point.
She knew very well that the church sent him but she needs specific names so she could have them tracked and taken care of.
But all of a sudden, she noticed several hooded figures coming out of nowhere. Then, she heard a shot fired and when she turned her head, an agent in uniform fell down to the ground while the others start fighting off these hooded figures, leaving William and his mother unprotected.
She took the gun from the ground and start shooting these hooded figures but only scrapping their flesh which was enough to stun them and leave them unable to move.
However, to her surprise, more of them came out.
The rounds of her ammunition soon depleted. Rosé no longer has a choice but to fight them hand-to-hand.
Then, she heard another shot which had threw her in frustration and horror, assuming that these assassins got the boy. However, she was somehow relieved to see the mother on the ground and not William. It's unfortunate that people needed to die but the boy must survive this for his death would mean the end of lives.
William, now weeping broken beside his mother as held her close to his chest.
"William, run..." the mother muttered as she reaches for her boy's cheek with bloody hands.
"No! I won't leave you, mommy!!" He cried loudly.
Despite not being able to take care of their him, William loved his parents dearly for they made him feel the warmth of love on the few times they were together.
Meanwhile, Rosé fights off all those who almost got near the boy as he continues to weep. The boy had noticed her despite the tears but was preoccupied with worry and fear for his wounded mother.
When Rosé had successfully fended off those who are near them. She immediately reached for the boy's hand.
"Let's go, before they to get to you." She ordered, muttering to the boy but he refused to leave his mother and continued to weep.
Suddenly, another shot was fired and she instantly felt a sharp pain on her left shoulder. She staggered but immediately embraced William, covering him inside her arms.
The pain was excruciating, but she needed to protect the boy.
One by one, the agents fell on the ground and died instantly. Soon, they were engulfed with the sudden silence.
Rosé can only hear the boy's weeping that now turns to a wail out of fear. The silence around them either meant that the agents defeated the assassins or it's the other case scenario, that there isn't anyone left to fight on their side to fend off these assassins.
Then, as sudden and frightful as a gunshot, footsteps were be heard, walking towards them.
They have been outnumbered and now, they are surrounded.
"Give us the boy and we'll let you live." Said a man. Rosé looked up and immediately saw a gun pointed at her forehead.
"You're sent by the church?" She asked, muttering as glared up at the hooded man in front of her but couldn't see his face.
"It doesn't matter who sent us. He must die." He answered.
She knew she couldn't do anything now. The mission's over for her. One pull at that trigger underneath the man's finger would be their end... everybody else's end.
She shook her head slowly, keeping her deadly glare at the man. She'd rather die now than to save herself. But nevertheless, they must know the consequence if the boy dies today. They must know the truth behind the prophecy they misunderstood. But, it would be their choice if they believe her or not.
"Killing him would only release the true demon. You have misunderstood the prophecy..." she states as she tries to ignore the pain that slowly eating her strength.
"The mission has been given and we need to do what's expected. Hand over the boy." The man demanded as he looks down on her.
She shook her head in response but before she could even open her mouth to try to convince the man, she was interrupted as he cut her words off, "Suit yourself. Pity... you're too good of a fighter." He stated.
She then shut her eyes tightly at the moment, embracing William as tightly and prayed her last prayer.
"I'm sorry to have failed You. Our lives are in your hands now, Father."
"BAAAANG!"
The sound of the gunshot was like that of a cannon. It's ear-shattering and stunning.
But all of a sudden, a cool, calming breeze brushes upon them. Even if her eyes were closed, there was an incredible, blinding brightness. She soon flutters her eyes slowly and as she was able to regain her vision, as the light faded to clarity, small white feathers slowly and delicately fall in front of her eyes falling onto the ground.
She looked around and all the hooded figures that were once surrounding them were all thrown to the ground, distant from where they are.
When she looked up in front of her, she immediately recognizes his aura and his presence. His huge wings covered them from danger and death. Tears immediately formed in her eyes when he materializes himself in front of her.
She was very relieved to see him.
"Gabriel..." she whimpered as she looks up at him.
His wings which were wide open slowly folded while he gripped the gun pointing away from her head and onto the ground and the shot fired hit the ground near on the direction of her head.
Gabriel's gaze was fixed at the man in front of him who's eyes were opened wide in disbelief upon seeing the being that's suddenly in front of him.
"Oblivion." The angel muttered before he softly blew air out of his mouth which soon becomes a whirl of wind. It became so strong like that of a hurricane that the man instantly flew off, hitting the huge tree. He has knocked down right away as soon as he hit the ground.
The angel then turned and faced her. His eyes were soft by the sight of her who's tears were falling, relief was clearly plastered on her face as she looks up to him.
The other hooded figures start to grunt upon regaining consciousness while trying to sit up. But as soon as they were able to stand again, the angel flapped his wings that blew them off once more. Then, a wide smirk formed at the archangel's lips in amusement.
However, little does he know that someone, not so distant, was walking towards him. Lightning crackles while blue flames circles his hand as he prepares to attack.
The angel and Rosé immediately felt the ominous presence. Gabriel turned his head over his shoulder for a glance but even before he was able to lay eyes on who's behind him, fiery bolts of hell's fire hit his right-wing which was then fully engulfed by fire.
"Finally...." the demon muttered with an evil grin.
The angel staggered down on the ground, kneeling on one knee as he tries to fight the fire, attempting to flap his wings in front of Rosé.
She then let go of William for a moment to attend to their rescuer, holding onto his shoulders. When she looks to find out who's behind him, she saw that demon whose eyes were blazing red with lightning and fire circling his whole body.
She instantly felt that fear again. Even at gunpoint, she wasn't afraid. But in front of this demon, she's terrified.
"He won't be able to hurt you as long as I exist. I'm the one he wants and the way to get to me is through you. He won't kill you." The angel whispered, sensing Rosé's fear as he reaches for her cheek.
"I'll be alright." He added, smiling sweetly at her despite the excruciating pain.
Suddenly, a bright light engulfed the angel and instantly vanishes. It was God who saved him before the demon could attack again.
At that moment, the demon was enraged. He thought, Saving them again, eh? Am I too strong for your archangels?
The hooded figures who were just starting to get up again paid the price the demon's wrath after he lost his opportunity to kill who he thought was his rival. The men suddenly combust and are eaten by hell's fire.
Frightening wails now defeated the silence. These men wail for their lives as they suffer his raged, eternal fire that would only be put out once the life leaves their bodies.
Then, those crimson eyes found Rosé.
"You will lead him to me again." He snarled in a voice that was animalistic and terrifying at the same time which instantly made her shiver in fright
However, despite being hurt and afraid, she was reminded of the life she just saved when she felt the boy's tight embrace around her. She's glad that the boy is alive...
They still have a chance... another day to live.
