-SELENE- Laare was a beautiful city. Not as sophisticated as Tharval, the capital of the South Kingdom, but it had its own charm—quiet, lived-in, and a little rough around the edges. Tall stone walls wrapped around it, with towers popping up here and there like watchful sentinels. Inside, white houses with colorful shutters gave the place a cozy vibe. Red-tiled roofs, flowers spilling from window sills, and cobblestone streets tied it all together. People with tanned skin and thick layers of clothing wandered up and down the sloped streets, men in wool hats, women with braids coiled neatly on top of their heads.
