Thank you for your understanding. -CoCo- *Jeremiah POV* I was stunned, angered, and humbled by my mate's reaction to being told I wouldn't let her go to the interrogation. I tried to explain how dangerous this was, but that definitely made it worse. "You really screwed that one up bad, saying she was too dumb to know she was in danger and too weak to handle it," Finn grumbled. I sighed, "I know. It's not what I meant. I didn't want her to see us interrogate him.” Finn snorted, "I think that after the way she lectured everyone about treating her like a fragile baby who can't manage the truth, the best think we can do is support her. You know that if anyone spoke to us the way everyone is speaking to her, we would have separated their head from their neck.” I sighed. Finn was right. She left for the interrogation room and I opened the paper, quickly reading it before handing it to Alpha Eric. Jim Moonwalker. Alpha Eric growled and turned to his Beta, “Moonwalker,” he said, and Terrence growled lowly as well. Eric turned to me and said, Moonwalker is the surname for the Sable Nightwalkers Pack. They were believed to collaborate with the Dark Witches during the War of the Broken Mountains, aiding our enemies in exchange for wealth and power. To this day, they have shown no remorse for their part in the war. I don’t know which Moonwalker this is, but I can tell you their Alpha is Osric Moonwalker, and Jim is about 200 miles from home. My blood was boiling when I heard my mate in the interrogation room say, “Why are you following me, and what do you expect to gain from doing so?” I waved my hand for quiet and said, “We will discuss more about this later,” and focused in on the interrogation room. *Corinne POV* Jim looked at me with a cocky grin and said, “What makes you think you’d be important enough to be an enemy? You were just a job, and I figured maybe you’d be a little bit of fun on the side first.” I rolled my eyes. “I see. So, is it part of the job or part of the fun to be the fall guy?” Jim’s eyes narrowed as he said, “What’s that supposed to mean?” I stared at him with wide eyed innocence, “Well,” I said, “you’re the one that’s been present at every place I’ve been harassed.” He opened his mouth to say something and I held up to my hand to stop him. “I just genuinely cannot figure out why you’d agree to follow me when all of my belongings had tracking software in it, or what you stand to gain from being the one body present each time I’ve been threatened.” I looked around the interrogation room, tapping my fingers on the metal table. Turning back to him I leaned in, “I know that werewolf law is a little different from human laws, but from what I’ve gathered this,” I said quietly, gesturing at our situation, “doesn’t end well for you, and I just want to know why you’d agree to it.” I leaned back in my chair and picked my nails while I waited for a response. Jim held his hands up in surrender, “Look, I don’t know anything about trackers and I never threatened you. I was sent here as a private investigator to follow you, and report back with your activities. I was told that you were a bit, you know,” I looked at him in the eye and said clearly, “No, I’m afraid I don’t know, explain it to me.” Jim cleared his throat and avoided eye contact as he said, “I was told you were a bit friendly with men, and so I made a plan to approach you flirtatiously in the elevator. I was actually surprised you didn’t call me, until I saw that all of your friends are from this… pack,” he pack with so much hatred my eyebrows raised.
