Hanging up the phone and sticking it back in my pocket, I waited for the truck to roll out and I jumped in. Malcolm slammed on the gas hauling ass, so we could catch up with the other men.
“Malcolm don’t get too close to the other trucks in case they see who’s driving. We don’t want them to be tipped off that we’re onto them,” I said.
Malcolm nodded his head and kept pushing the truck to go faster. As we got closer to the trucks, Malcolm yelled at me to grab the wheel and swap with him.
“Are you crazy?” I yelled. Malcolm smiled at me as he opened the driver’s door and gestured for me to hurry up.
Yep, I thought, he’s totally lost his damn mind. I hurried and scooted over to the driver’s side and took the wheel. Hammering down on the gas as Malcolm jumped from the truck and disappeared. There were five military style trucks about eight hundred feet in front of us. The truck up front and the one in the back had two guys sitting on top, both facing different directions. They both had automatic rifles in hand. Two of the trucks in the middle of the convoy looked to be more like medical trucks.
“Please, be in there,” I mumbled.
Malcolm reappeared on the passenger side and swung the door open and hopped inside.
“I believe they’re in those two medical trucks in the middle. I’m not positive, but I’m being hopeful.” I nodded, then reached behind him and swung the window to the back of the truck open.
“Alright guys, I need two men on top and secured. We have reason to believe they are in the trucks in the middle. There are two men on the front truck and two on the back that are posted on top with automatic weapons. Watch your backs and let’s get these fuckers.” The back door to our vehicle swung open and two of my men crawled on top of the truck.
The shooting started right away as the man on the back truck noticed what was happening. Swerving to the right and then left, I did the best I could to keep from getting me or my men shot. My team and I had been trained for missions like this, they drilled it in to our heads to always be a hard target to hit with a gun. That was one of the ways we were trained. Malcolm opened the passenger door again and jumped out. I was trying to do my best with these guys and not take too many bullets and stay on the dirt road. My men were shooting back, and I had two hanging off the side of the truck doing their best to shoot the tires out of the vehicle that was in front of us.
One of the men on top of the truck in front of us suddenly disappeared. Then the second one was gone. I was trying to look around to see if I could see what happened to them but couldn’t find them anywhere. Glancing in the rearview mirror at one of my men, I suddenly saw something fall out of the sky behind us. It was one of the men from the other truck. Damn, Malcolm could throw a body like a champ. I’ll have to remember not to ever piss that guy off. Two of the back tires on the truck in front of us suddenly blew out and the truck swerved off the path and flipped over several times. Fist pumping the air, I stepped on the gas harder doing my best to catch up with the medical truck in front of me.
Getting closer to the medical truck in front of us, I slammed my truck into the back of the truck that I had finally caught up to. When I backed off again for a minute, Malcolm appeared on the back of the truck and swung the doors open. Three men held guns and started to unload their clips into Malcolm. I hammered down on the gas again and slammed into the back of the truck one more time. Malcolm hung on the door for dear life, picking his feet up right when my truck had hit the back. The three men on the inside fell over each other and one fell out, rolling underneath my truck. The other two guys were trying to right themselves and stand back up, looking for their guns as they did. Malcolm jumped off the door and landed inside of the medical truck. He braced himself on the wall of the truck, so he wouldn’t fall out. I could see blood dripping down his back. My guess the bullets went straight through.
Malcolm grabbed the first guy by the shirt collar and dragged him closer to himself. The second guy started to unload his clip into his partner that Malcolm was using as a shield. When the guy ran out of bullets, Malcolm threw the dead guy out of the truck and quickly snatched up the last guy standing. I had to numb myself from the body hitting the under part of our truck and the sound the tires made as we ran his body over. Malcolm, sunk his teeth into the man’s neck, holding him tightly as he drained the man dry. When he was done, he threw his body out of the back of the truck and made his way to the female lying on the gurney inside the truck.
It was his sister, it had to be. Malcolm untied her and grabbed a bag that looked to have blood in it. He then fed her and then bent over to a small box in the corner, pulling out more bags of blood. After feeding her he lifted her up into his arms. Her skin was pail, grey looking, and she looked like she had aged in a day to an old shriveled woman. They had been draining her dry. It pissed me off to think that these people were abusing this woman and probably many others. The blood will take a minute to get through her system completely. I’m going to find out what this organization is up to and where they are, then I’m taking their ass’s down, I thought to myself.
Misha
My eyes flew open and it took my foggy mind a minute to realize my brother was standing in the door of the medical truck. He was pissed too from what I could tell. The truck was swerving all over the road and it was starting to make my head hurt and my stomach turn. I needed blood and I needed it bad. I watched in a daze as my brother grabbed one man and used him as a shield, then grabbed the other and drained him dry. He tossed both their bodies out the back of the truck. When he looked back at me, his face had gone soft and he pulled the I.V. out of my arm. He slowly sat me up and held the bag they were pumping my blood up to my lips. I swallowed greedily until it was empty. Pointing towards a small ice chest in the corner of the vehicle, Malcolm reached over to it and helped me drink more of the blood stored inside. When it was all gone he scooped me up and headed to the back of the vehicle, preparing to jump off.
Suddenly the medical vehicle swerved to the side tipping over. Malcolm jumped, landing on his feet and then rolling with me still in his arms. We both laid there in the dirt, Malcolm covering my body with his.
“Malcolm, you came back for me!” I whispered.
“I would never leave you sister. You are my only family and my twin. Without you, I’m not complete. I will always come for you, even if we fight. I love you.”
I smiled as I brushed dirt off his face.
“I love you too brother. Now get off me so we can save Tobias. I think he’s in the other medical truck.”
Lawson
I thought I was going to have a heart attack when the medical vehicle swerved and tipped over in front of me. When I realized Malcolm was going to jump, I slammed on the breaks. I didn’t want to run Malcolm and his sister over, so I swerved out of the way. Malcolm went rolling with his sister in his arms. He laid there for a moment, reassuring himself that he had his sister back. Suddenly, he jumped back up, hauling ass to the truck my men and I were in. Climbing up into the cab of the truck, Malcolm sat his sister down in the passenger seat and buckled her in.
“Watch her with your life Lawson.” Malcolm said. I nodded, and Malcolm jumped back out, disappearing once again.
I hammered on the gas again. I needed to catch up to the other truck. They were probably a good seven hundred feet in front of us now.
“Come on you piece of s**t,” I mumbled as I tried giving the truck more gas. Finally, getting a little closer to the medical vehicle. I saw the two men that had been on top of the first vehicle thrown through the air. I got closer to the truck and rammed the back of it lightly. I wanted these guys to know we were still here and getting back my brother. Malcolm suddenly appeared on the back of the truck, hanging from the top. He grabbed the door handle and threw it open. The man that was inside was prepared and fired his gun. The bullet hit Malcolm in the head and the vampire fell off the back of the truck. Misha screamed, as I swerved not to run over her brother.
Looking over to tell Misha to grab the wheel, I realized she was gone.
“Dammit.” I yelled, slapping the steering wheel.
I looked in my rearview mirror to see Misha holding her brothers body. I was suddenly enraged and couldn’t control my wolf anymore. Throwing open the door to my truck, I jumped out just as the change took over. I hit the ground running on all fours towards the medical vehicle. Jumping, I made it inside right before the man tried to shut the door. The man that shot Malcolm aimed his gun and fired. He missed, and I charged his ass, sinking my teeth into his arm and shaking him until he let go of his rifle. I then let go of his arm and bit down on his head. Feeling the crunch of his skull, as I bit down even harder. Blood oozed out of his eyes and nose, and the man went limp. Still, I bit harder. I needed him to be dead, like very dead.
When I was satisfied that he was as dead as he could get and wouldn’t move again, I spit him out. Ugh, I don’t know how the vampires drink blood. It was nasty and left a horrible after taste in your mouth. I shook my head trying to rid myself of the coppery taste and then scanned my surroundings to make sure no one had another entry way. The back was secure, which was just stupid of them, they should have had an access door from the front in case of a breech.
Shifting back to my human form, I looked over to the gurney that my brother was laying on. A sigh of relief left my lips as I started to untie his arm and legs and he started to move. Tobias sat up straight, but he seemed a little dazed still. At least he was smiling at me and had pure gratification on his face.
“Thank you, brother. I’m so grateful you came for me,” He said, as he launched himself at me and bear hugged the s**t out of me.
I smiled, as I hugged him back just as fiercely then said, “If I didn’t there would be nobody fun to play my tricks on. Terk and Lucian aren’t as fun as you and Jake. Plus, your mate and her huge belly would have come in guns a blazing.”
He smiled at me as he wrapped his arms around my neck again and held on.
“Come on brother we have to check on Malcolm and Misha then I’ve got to get you to your mate.” We both stood and jumped out the back of the moving truck.
