22 Nathan sat at a table in the most sheltered corner of the dining room, the printouts from Tracey Pierson’s computer spread out in front of him. He read through them while eating, without really paying attention to the food he had ordered for his dinner. Mechanically, he dipped his fork to the plate, lifted it to his mouth, chewed, swallowed, and then repeated the process, all without looking down at his plate. His attention was focused on the mass of paper as he searched for something, anything, that would help him to identify the person he had come so close to arresting.
