“It’s Inspector Stone, actually,” Nathan corrected him. “Detective Inspector Nathan Stone. I believe Constable Havers told you earlier that I have been asked to take charge of the investigation into your wife’s murder, though, under the circumstances, I can understand why that may have slipped your mind. The situation here is far from ideal, thanks to the weather, but it’s because of the weather that I’ve been asked to take charge. They can’t get a detective from a local station so the powers that be have decided to take advantage of the fact that I happened to pick this place for my holiday.
