Chapter 27When Dunne and I returned to the apartment where Katharina had been held, Charley was sitting in a chair waiting for us. Two of Dunne’s men were standing nearby. “How is Katharina?” Charley asked, standing up. “Not good. She’s had something called a heart attack.” “The hell you say. Is she gonna be okay?” “I don’t know, but the doctor said this whole experience probably caused it.” Dunne looked at his two men. “Everything all right, boys?” Both men looked at Charley. “Ask him,” one of them said. “He’s been busy.” “Where are the suspects?” Dunne asked. One of the men nodded toward a closed door. “In the bedroom. He whittled ’em up pretty good.” We walked into the room. All three were tied to chairs.
