Chapter Fourteen John Trust is earned over time and broken in seconds. I asked her if she trusted me, and it all went down with the two slats of wood. I hope I can recover her trust in me. I mean, I suppose walking in a section that is closed off was asking for it, but that is also where the thrill and adrenaline contribute to the adventure. Continuing walking on the platform to the end is like choosing which glass you will step on in Squid Games on TV. I walk first and feel my way through every step. I’m pretty sure anybody close by would wonder why we’re walking so strangely. We’re on tiptoes and double steps before putting all of our weight on the wood.
