Blurb

In the heart of the bustling city, inside a towering glass building that symbolized power and wealth, lived a nightmare named Dean Loosened. To the world, he was a genius, a successful businessman, and an incredibly handsome man who looked like he had stepped out of a fashion magazine. But to the employees, he was known by a different name: The Devil Manager.

He was cold, arrogant, perfectionist, and ruthless. His voice was like thunder, and his glare could freeze blood.

Riana Aqeela was just an ordinary staff member. She had no influential family background, no high status, and absolutely no power to fight back. For her, survival was the only goal. Every day, she walked into the office feeling like she was walking into a battlefield, knowing that the enemy was waiting for her.

She was forced to endure relentless mental bullying and endless work demands. Whether it was correcting reports at midnight, being scolded in front of everyone for tiny mistakes, or being ordered around like a personal servant, Riana had to swallow her pride and accept it all. If she wanted to keep her job, if she wanted to help her family, she had no choice but to obey every single word that came out of that man’s mouth.

This harsh reality applied to everyone in the company, of course. But Riana was different. She was the main target. She was disturbed, annoyed, and picked on by Dean far more than any other employee. It was as if he enjoyed seeing her frustrated. As if he enjoyed making her life difficult. Why? Was it because she was weak? Or was there another reason hidden behind those cold eyes?

Technically, Dean was only a Manager. But his power was absolute. The CEO of the company was a mysterious figure who rarely ever appeared, a man who trusted Dean blindly, handing over the entire operation, the lives of the staff, and the fate of the business into his hands. Dean could fire anyone. He could cut salaries. He could do whatever he wanted. And no one dared to stop him.

Riana felt trapped. She was like a small bird in a cage owned by a lion. She hated him.

She despised his arrogance. But she was forced to look at him every day, forced to listen to his voice, and forced to follow his commands.

She was forced to endure relentless mental pressure and overwhelming work demands imposed by this handsome tyrant who always looked flawless in his expensive tailored suits. If she wanted to survive in this ruthless corporate world, she had to obey every single word that came out of his mouth, no matter how arrogant or unreasonable.

This harsh reality applied to everyone in the company, of course. But Riana was different. She was the special target. She was disturbed, annoyed, and picked on by Dean far more than anyone else. It was as if he had a personal mission to make her life difficult.

Although technically Dean was only a Manager, his power was absolute. He held the terrifying authority to fire anyone or cut salaries on a whim. And the mysterious CEO of the company? He was rarely ever seen, trusting Dean blindly and handing over the entire operation, the lives of the staff, and the fate of the business into his capable but cruel hands.

Until one day, the line between boss and employee blurred completely. The hatred and tension transformed into something else entirely. Something dangerous, yet irresistible.

Dean Loosened, the man who made her life a living hell, finally revealed his true feelings. He confessed his heart and asked Riana to be his. But there was one condition: their love had to remain a secret. Hidden from the world, for an indefinite period of time.

It all started with that first kiss. A kiss that happened in the most unexpected moment, catching her completely off guard. It was undeniable; that single touch managed to tie her heart to his instantly, shattering all her defenses.

Riana felt thousands of butterflies fluttering wildly in her stomach. It was illogical. It was crazy. How could she fall for the man who bullied her? But deep down, she realized with shocking clarity that she wanted it too. She wanted to be with him. She wanted to date the Devil Manager.

After battling with her mind and emotions, she made her decision. She agreed. She agreed to this secret relationship, whatever the consequences might be. All she knew was that they were drawn to each other by a force stronger than logic. They liked each other. They desired each other.

Love is truly strange and unreasonable. It appears when you least expect it, and often, it chooses the person you never thought you would fall for.

Two Worlds, One Heart

And now, love has come to Riana and Dean. But their relationship is built on vast differences—differences in character, social status, way of life, perspective, and most importantly... their faith.

Dean comes from a family of atheists. He does not believe in God. To him, religion is just a story, and the Creator is nothing more than an imagination. He trusts only in himself, in logi

Chapter 1 (Dilemma)
The digital clock on Riana Aqeela’s phone screen blinked: 16:50. She let out a long, heavy sigh that seemed to carry the weight of the entire week. In exactly ten minutes, she would finally be free. She would step out of this glass prison that had been sucking the life and energy out of her for the past nine hours. Five days a week, this was her routine, and sometimes, the torture extended even longer with unpaid overtime. Riana quickly double-checked all the files on her desk, organized the reports into a specific folder, and saved her work. With a click, she shut down her computer. The moment the screen went black, her shoulders finally dropped, and her face relaxed, free from the professional mask she had to wear all day. She reached into her bag and pulled out a small compact mirror. Click. She stared at her own reflection. "Oh my god..." she whispered, horrified. Even with the foundation, concealer, and lipstick she had carefully applied that morning, she couldn't hide it. Her eyes were dull, dark circles were forming underneath, and her skin looked tired and lifeless. The stress was literally written all over her face. "Now I know why they say stress makes people ugly. I look terrible... I really need a vacation. Or at least a full day of sleep." BEEP! BEEP! The clock struck exactly 17:00. Like a switch being flipped, a bright, genuine smile spread across Riana’s lips. Freedom tasted sweet. She stuffed the mirror back into her bag, stood up abruptly, and was ready to dash towards the elevator. But fate had other plans. She had only taken five steps when a voice stopped her dead in her tracks. A voice she knew too well. A voice that she wished would just disappear from the face of the earth. "Riana." It was him. Dean Loosened. Her manager. The man she secretly called 'The Devil in a Suit'. Riana gritted her teeth. Seriously? Right on time? Can't I even leave peacefully? If only this man didn't exist, her life would be so much easier. But unfortunately, he was real, and he loved making her life miserable. Riana forced her feet to turn around. She walked back towards her desk. Dean was undeniably handsome—tall, sharp jawline, charismatic, the type every woman in the office drooled over. But Riana? She saw nothing but a tyrant. How could she like someone who enjoyed ruining her day every single day? Dean looked up from his laptop, his dark eyes locking onto hers. "Buy me an iced coffee. And some snacks. Then, come back here. Clean my desk, and give me a massage." Riana blinked, thinking she misheard. "Massage? Sir, I’m your employee, not a spa therapist. How about I call a professional for you? They are much better at it." Dean leaned back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips. He loosened his tie, revealing a bit of his collarbone, looking annoyingly perfect. "I don't want someone else. I want you to do it." He stood up, towering over her. He bent down slightly so their faces were level, his gaze intense and sharp, sending shivers down her spine—not the good kind. "Now go. Don't keep me waiting." He walked past her back into his private office, leaving Riana standing there, fuming. "You absolute jerk!" she whispered furiously under her breath, making fake punching motions in the air. "I hope you choke on your coffee! I hope karma bites you hard, Dean loosened!" - - - Ten minutes later, Riana returned. She placed the large cup of iced coffee and a box of pastries on his desk with a little more force than necessary. "Here, Sir." Dean took the coffee, took a long sip, and seemed satisfied. He looked at her, his expression unreadable. "You know, Riana... I've been thinking." Riana felt a cold sweat run down her back. When this man started thinking, trouble usually followed. "Thinking about making you my personal assistant." WHAT?! Riana’s eyes widened. Shock hit her like a truck. This wasn't good news. This was a disaster! Being his personal assistant meant being with him 24/7. She would die from stress! "Oh, Sir! No! I mean... I am definitely not suitable for that role!" She rambled quickly, putting on her best polite smile while panicking inside. Please say no, please say no... "You need someone who is super fast, super agile, and perfect. That is definitely not me! I make mistakes sometimes, I'm clumsy, and I'm slow!" Dean chuckled softly, a low sound that irritated her. He knew she was making excuses, he could see right through her. "I think you are perfect, Riana." "But Sir—" "Enough talk." He stood up and took off his black suit, hanging it neatly. "Go clean my desk. And then... the massage." "Yes... Sir," She muttered defeatedly. [ Thirty Minutes Later ] The office was quiet. Riana stood behind Dean’s chair, ready to do as he was told. But then, Dean did something that made her freeze. He took off his work shirt. Suddenly, he was sitting there in just his black trousers. His back was exposed, and Riana’s mouth went dry. The man had a body that looked like it was carved by gods. Broad shoulders, defined back muscles, and tanned skin. He looked like a super model. How often does he go to the gym to look like this? Is this even legal? "What is it?" Dean asked without turning around, sensing her silence. "Do you like what you see?" Riana snapped back to reality, shaking her head violently. "No! I was just..surprised! That's all!" "Hurry up and start, Riana. My shoulders are stiff." Riana stepped forward, her hands trembling slightly. She placed her hands on his shoulders, trying to act professional, but her heart was beating like a drum. Oh my god, his muscles are so hard. "If your massage is bad," Dean said casually, "I'll cut your salary." "WHA?!" Riana shouted. "Sir! That is unfair! I already told you I don't know how to massage! Why are you doing this?!" "Then learn fast or face the consequences." Riana was furious. Just because he has power and money, he thinks he can treat people like toys?! Life is so unfair! "I already said I'm not good at this!" she snapped, her voice rising slightly. "You didn't listen, and now you're threatening me?" Dean turned his head slightly, looking at her from over his shoulder. His eyes were cold. "I am warning you, not threatening you. There is a difference, Riana. Learn to understand it." Riana pouted, looking away. Inside her head, she was cursing him with every bad word she knew, but on the outside, she could only sigh and press her fingers into his shoulders. Wait until you get what you deserve, you devil. ******* [ Riana’s Family Home ] "Riana? Honey, what's wrong with you? You look like you just lost a million dollars." Lena, her mother, looked at her daughter with concern. Riana slammed the door shut and threw her bag on the sofa, looking ready to explode. "If murder wasn't illegal and a sin, I would have done it already,Mom!" Riana groaned, falling onto the couch. Lena chuckled softly but worriedly. She knew exactly who her daughter was talking about. That arrogant manager of hers. "That man again?" "Yes! Again! He bullies me every single day, Mom!" Riana complained, hugging a pillow tightly. "What did he do this time?" "He asked me to be his personal assistant! Can you believe it? He wants me to be by his side all the time! He wants to torture me 24/7!" Lena’s expression softened. She felt sad seeing her daughter like this, but what could they do? The world was full of people like Dean. "Are you sure you didn't do something to provoke him, sweetie?" "No, Mom! I never start trouble! Trouble just finds me! Especially when he's around!" Riana whined. "And the worst part is, he picks on me more than anyone else in the office!" "That man is really something else. I hope he gets his karma soon." "I hope so too, Mom. But that guy is like a cat with nine lives. Nothing bad ever happens to him." Riana sighed deeply, trying to calm her anger. "By the way, Mom... how is Justin? Is he feeling better?" Justin was her younger brother. He had been sick for days—high fever and bad cough. The problem was, Justin was terrified of needles and hospitals, so they had to treat him at home. "He's better now," Lena said with a relieved smile. "He ate a full bowl of porridge earlier, he's sleeping now." Riana nodded. Thank god. Justin had always been a brave boy, except when it came to doctors. Suddenly... KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! The knocking was loud, aggressive, and repeated rapidly. It sounded urgent and annoying. Riana stood up, irritated. "Who is that banging like that?" She walked to the door and pulled it open. Standing there was Mr. Peter, the owner of the house they had been renting for years. His face looked serious. "What's wrong, Mr. Peter? I already paid this month's rent, you know that." Mr. Peter didn't smile. He looked at them with cold eyes. "I know you paid, Riana. But there is something you need to know. Next month, you have to move out. I have already found new tenants who are willing to pay a higher price." WHACK! It felt like someone had hit Riana on the head with a hammer. "What?! Move out?! Mr. Peter, we have lived here for over fifteen years! We always pay on time! How can you do this to us?!" Panic rose in her chest. This house was the only home they knew. "The market is high, Riana. Business is business." "Wait!" Riana thought fast. "Don't evict us! I am willing to pay double! Or... what if I buy this house from you?!" Mr. Peter stopped. He stroked his beard, seemingly considering it. "Hmm... Buying it? Alright. I will sell it to you." Riana’s heart leaped. "Really? Thank you, Mr. Peter! How much?" The old man looked at the walls, then back at her, and said a number that made Riana’s blood run cold. "Four hundred and twenty thousand dollars." "......." Silence. Riana stood frozen at the doorway. Four hundred and twenty thousand dollars?! That was an astronomical amount! She wanted to scream, she wanted to yell that he was robbing them, but she couldn't. She swallowed hard, her throat dry. The reality hit her hard. She looked at her mother, who was also pale with shock. They didn't just have a devil for a manager anymore. Now, they had a mountain of debt and a deadline waiting for them. What am I going to do now?
