I sighed and tapped on Sam's arm "Hey, wake up." He grumbled moving closer to me and placing his face against my neck. I pulled away from him harder and almost fell off the bed. I stood up needing to pee, I walked to the bathroom and went potty.
After using the bathroom I grabbed my phone and robe and walked out of the room, Clearly someone was tired. It was only 7am and it was a Saturday.
I walked out of the room and down the stairs slowly checking my messages after I tied my robe. I saw I had 20 missed messages from Cassidy and 6 missed calls from her as well. But before I can even attempt to call her back she bust through my front door hollering my name. I jumped down the last step smacking my hand over her mouth "Shh." She raised an eyebrow and walked into the kitchen "Morning Aunt Calissa." She turned her head from the stove she was currently cooking at "Good morning girls."
I walked to Amelia and kissed the top of her head as she put a piece of bacon in her mouth "Mama."
I smiled and walked over picking up a piece of bacon "I'm so sorry Alisha." Spoke Cassidy.
I looked at her "What the f**k happen to you last night? I looked everywhere."
She looked down and my Aunt stopped what she was doing to look at the exchange between us. "I got a little messed up and went home with someone." She looked at her hand. my Aunt Calissa cleared her throat "So who's car is in the driveway?" Cassidy looked over at me and both of them stared at me as I opened and closed my mouth "Well, that is." Before I could say anything Sam walked into the kitchen buttoning his shirt up.
He looked up and stopped walking "Um, Hi."
I smacked my head, I hated it here "It's not what you guys think." Cassidy sat down crossing her legs and Calissa leaned against the counter "And what is it that we think?" I rolled my eyes "Someone ditched me last night and Sam was to drunk to drive. So I drove and since I didn't know where he lived, we came back here. It's not a big deal."
Cassidy sighed heavily "I'm sorry, I got distracted."
Sam chuckled at this before looking at me again "Um, keys?"
I stood up and walked over to the key bowl and pulled his out "Thanks for the rescue."
His hand lifted up and tucked one of my curls that was in front of my eye behind my ear "I should be thanking you." He kissed my forehead and for a moment there I closed my eyes. "I'll see you later Ali." I opened my eyes and nodded closing the door behind him before locking and leaning back against it.
Cassidy who was peaking around the corner came out with her hands on her hips "Mhm."
I flipped her the bird "Shut up, this was your fault."
"And where exactly did he sleep last night?" Spoke Calissa as she came around from the kitchen.
"Well when I put him to bed he was asleep on the couch." I pointed at the couch that still had the supplies for it he got sick. "But when I woke up he was laying next to me in my bed."
"Ohhhhh." Calissa spoke walking back into the kitchen with myself and Cassidy following her. I walked over and cleaned Amelia off "He's got a girlfriend guys, stop it."
"We haven't said anything, we are just observing what we see." Cassidy spoke.
"Nothings going to come from your snooping, now please leave the situation alone. Unless you would like to explain to me with who you disappeared with last night." I spoke
Point for Alisha, I grinned taking Amelia out of her seat and setting her on the floor with her toys. "Did you guys at least talk? Get some of the issues out of the air?" Calissa said. I sighed and started cleaning up the breakfast while eating bacon "There isn't anything to discuss. When I left none of that stuff mattered anymore. Including the stupid little crush that I had. Or does the fact that I have to kids not point that out."
Cassidy sighed and started looking down at her phone "I just feel like the guy is working hard to get your forgiveness and I think maybe you should give him a chance."
I shook my head finishing putting things away "Nope, I didn't move here to start anything with anyone. I just want it to be me and my girls, and that's ok."
At that moment there was a knock on the door and I thanked the lord that we could change this subject, Calissa was the one to walk to the door and open it. I could hear her saying "Oh hello Jake." I looked down at my current state of robe and Pajamas "I really truly do hate everything about being here." Cassidy laughed as I walked out of the kitchen and to the stairs giving a quick wave as I went upstairs to put on clothes.
I find the being surrounded by men more was going to make me choke someone, was that a harsh thing to be thinking of? Probably. But it defiantly does not change how I feel about them always popping out of the wood work. Even though I love when Jake visits, because when he leaves again it'll be some time before I see him again. I walked over to my bed and fixed the bedding back to how it was before it was slept in. I then pulled out some clothes to wear for the day, nothing crazy a pair of maternity leggings and a loose flowing forest green top that made a point of making my breast the point of observation. I put some product in my curls and then put a light amount of makeup on.
I don't know about most ladies, but I couldn't be out without eyebrows, eyeliner and Mascara. My lips already a natural red already normally got a small about of gloss on them. I was blessed unlike the boys in my family, while they had very thin lips. Mine were full and lush, I'm thankful for that.
I put socks on and checked my email before heading back downstairs to start the rest of my day. Jake greeted me at the bottom of the stairs with a big hug.
"Well what was that for?" The look on my face told it all, he had to leave again. "No. It's so soon. You just came home." I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes, damn hormones made me extra when hearing this news. "I'm sorry Alisha." He pulled me into his arms and hugged me,
"Can't someone else go." He laughed at my remark hugging me tighter." I wish. But we both know that's not how this works. " Cassidy came in and saw us hugging and burst into tears hugging us both.
"How long this time? And....When....When do you leave?" I struggled to get the words out as I hugged him tight. "Unfortunately I came to say goodbye, I have to leave now. They are demanding that everyone from my group has to return." This made Cassidy cry harder, We both worried about the work he did, he was an active military man and so this meant that we never knew what was going to happen and how long this mean he would be gone.
All of us stood silently hugging and praying that this time he would stay safe, that we would not get that terrifying call saying that he was missing or that something happen. Being the family of someone in the military was one of the scariest things to go through, and that's why at these moments we hug tighter and promise to always hold onto the promise of seeing each other again. Even against all odds.
