‘Where is Lexi?’
‘Where is she?’
These had been the same questions running in Charlie Brooke’s head for the past year she was gone. He and his men searched for his daughter in every nook and cranny for months, but their efforts were unrewarded. Lexi had planned her disappearance and seemed determined to hide forever from him.
“How is she?” Charlie asked the doctor as soon as he left the room after checking up on her.
The doctor looked at the frail lady in life support, barely hanging for her life in the last six months. “She’s fine. In and out, but she’s getting better every single day,” he replied.
“Is she going to be okay?”
