Behind Her Silence

Chapter Seven

I woke up relaxed and energetic, I checked my schedule and noticed I didn't have much to do at work other than discharge patients. I immediately got out of bed and went to get ready for the day, Eddy followed Prisca to drop her off at the airport, and from there go to work.

So I wasn't expecting him or anyone else today to visit, by the time I got to work my energetic side of me was already reducing.

I went to my office to start discharging patients and be done with my work as soon as possible, I had plans to go to the park in the evening. When i was done with all my work, I rested and ate my lunch.

On my way to the Department of Oncology to meet Doctor James concerning meeting me up to tell me something last week, I bumped into one of my patients. " Sorry, why are you in a rush?" I asked in confusion because he really hit me hard.

" Sorry, I was so eager to get discharged. I started running......" He didn't finish his sentence when our eyes met and he started smiling instantly. I on the other hand knew what was going to happen immediately I saw who he was. " Doctor Jane! Hi, how are you doing?" He asked with a huge smile, I didn't want to ruin my timing for my plans because i still had to go meet Doctor James who might take much of my time.

" Hi Jason, I am fine and i am sure you're doing okay also, for you to be able to rush so fast. I can't talk much, I am also on my way to something important" I made sure i didn't let him reply back before i walked away.

He obviously should be surprised by how i was free at that moment but I will do anything to make sure I meet up with a plan involving me being by myself and having fun.

I arrived at Doctor James office but he wasn't there, " Sorry, where is Doctor James?" I asked his secretary. " He went out a while ago and i don't think he is coming back anytime soon". She replied the way i liked, she answered even the next question I was going to ask. " Thank you" I was glad he wasn't around and I immediately headed for the elevator and went home.

I got home, changed and packed my picnic bag. I got to the park quite earlier than I timed, I was pleased. I stared at the sky and let out a deep sigh, " I am becoming free, I can feel it" I smiled and ate my chips. I have come so far and there is more for me ahead.
