Chapter 3

It is already Wednesday morning and the start of Cali's class is 8:00 am. He had a bettee sleep and already feeling complete better than last time and he even doesn't know why. For a college student like him, he sure has a lot of busy time for work and studies because he is already graduating. But for his case, he is not even bothered by the fact that their final exam will be next week and the requirements they need to pass are already piling up. He may be bullied but he is a genius himself, he doesn't want to work hard but rather work smart.

"I wonder how is the start of my day at school..." He said to himself before leaving his room locked. He also saw the other tenants preparing to leave but they just smiled to each other and asked if they can go together. Most of the tenants here are going for work while Cali is to school that's why he always go the different way alone.

When he got out the dormitory, it is already hot like it's noon time.

Cali carrying his backpack is walking alone until he reached the bus stop where many students are also waiting.

He decided to just space himself from them because he doesn't want to have a bad start of the day. It seems that he is avoiding some students and it is true because not far away he saw Klyne and his group walking towards the inner waiting area, he still does not want Klyne and his friends to see him because he's sure they will beat him again.

He decided to just wait for all of the students in the bus stop to leave before he go there aven if it means he will be late to class.

Just 5 minutes before 8:00, he walked towards the bus stop and entered the bus where only few people are riding because there are two buses in the place. He chose to take a sit in the farthest back of the bus near the window. The driver still waited for a few minutes before deciding to leave and it's already past 8:00, Cali is sure that their teacher is already in their classroom starting the lesson. And he still have to take a walk that will again consume more than 5 minutes before he can reach the school because they will be dropped off on the next bus stop where he was completely beaten by Klyne last time.

He can just take another bus that will drop him directly at the front of their school but because he will need to pay higher but he is saving his money. Afterall, he is just relying on the scholarship.

Once the bus stopped, he immediately left and run his way towards the school and luckily, there are also students who are late like him but not his classmates.

The Northern Institute of Magic where Cali is studying is a prominent school of Alynthi Domain. While there are also other schools, the reason why Cali is here is because of the scholarship program and he expects that he will learn more here.

But students with a higher family status here is bossing around those who are lower than them and it is basically the worst scenario that could take place in schools. School are meant to be a place to study and not to show their power and wealth like Klyne who has a good relationship with Ria's family.

Why does Ria's family so powerful? They are the benefactor of the Magic Caster Guild and also has a good reputation in the Warrior Guild. These two guilds manages the Adventurer's guild in Alynthi Domain. While they manage the Adventurer's guild, they are not inferior or superior than them.

If you want to become an adventurer, you need to register in either the Magic caster or Warrior guild depends on what kind of cultivator are you. Once registered, you need to also take a registration in the Adventurer's guild to officially be called an adventurer.

The difference between cultivator and an adventurer is not hard to distinguish. Cultivators are those who are not registered in the Adventurer's guild or in short self-employed. For adventurers, they are registered in the records of Adventurer's guild. There is a saying that "All adventurers are cultivators but not all cultivators are adventurers."

People can awaken their abilities starting from the age of 20 and for Cali's case, he still hasn't awakened yet. He is not like Ria who belonged to the Morwen family where well-known and powerful magic casters are being made.

Ria is already awakened that's what Cali knew but he does not know whether she is a magic caster or a warrior class adventurer.

However, there are eyes from far away distance who are watching Cali running towards the entrance of the School before they completely close it. There are guards and those guards are also adventurers. There are just here to maintain the peace and order in the school and prevent the awakened students from usinf their abilities against students who are not yet awakened.

It is imposible for Cali to notice those eyes watching him because they are too far and nobody knows what's their reason or what attracts them to this loser.

"You're late!" Said the guard to Cali before he can pass them.

"I'm sorry, sir! It was just there is a small problem along the way."

"Go now, you're class already started." Before leaving, Cali just bowed his head as respect to them. The guard is wearing a black tuxedo, all black even his shoes. There is also a golden chain that is wrapped around his waist and there is also an insignia in his left chest that's made of silver.

[ADVENTURER'S GUILD] is carved in this piece of silver insignia and below this is 3 skulls showing his authority among the other guards.

To think that the school has someone like him is enough to prove that the school has a lot of money just to pay him. Given that there is 10 ranks of adventurers, the 3 skulls in the insignia means he is at lest XI class of XII class adventurer.

Back to Cali, now that he's in the hallway towards their classroom there are still some students outside. Before entering his class, he is still staring at the closed door before spinning the door knob.

"!!!"

"!!!"

The chairs are not arranged and the students are busy with their own businesses, that's what welcomed Cali when he entered the classroom. They are so loud but luckily, every room here is sound proof that's why no matter what noise they make, no one from the outside will hear them.

"OH! Cali... how have you been?" An arm just reached for his shoulder and without even glancing at it, he already knows who owns this hand.

"Are your bruises already gone? I see you're okay now."

"You want me to do it again?"

*Punch!

Klyne punched Cali straight to his face and everyone in the class fell silent. He slightly felt dizzy because of the punch, he could not do anything because it will just make things worse.

He walked towards his seat but before reaching, a friend of Klyne blocked his way and because he doesn't want to stop he just bumped him without even looking. The boy knocked down and landed his butt on the floor.

He immediately stood and went after Cali.

"YOU!"

"FUCKI-"

But before he could grab Cali's collar, a strong fist came towards his face without further notice.

*Boogsh!

He again fell to the floor with his nose bleeding, this made him more angry and Klyne also interfered.

"Ria! What the hell are you doing!? Defending that fool!?" Asked Klyne in an angry tone.

"Klyne, I am warning you. You should stop what you're doing, youre not a child anymore. Can't you go pick a fight to someone your level? Or you onlt have the guts to go against weaker opponents?" Sais by Ria in an angry tone.

Everyone in the room stared in an awe because it it their first time seeing Ria to lose her temper to Klyne. As they know before, Ria is just letting Klyne and his friends do what they want because their families are friends with each other.

"You..." Klyne pointed his finger at Ria's face before continuing.

"Don't think that because you are awakened, I will just let this pass. Don't be so full of yourself!" Klyne helped his friend to stand and along with the others, they left the room and the atmosphere again suddenly got back to normal.

Ria exhaled after, but before going back to her seat she looked at Cali's direction. He is always in the back near the window and now, he is again staring outside like he's dreaming something.

The class went smoothly afterwards without any delay. The reason their teacher did not come in their first period is because of the meeting called by the Headmaster.

Now that is is already lunch break, Cali decided to go to the library where it is silent. He plans to rest there and read some books.

'Why did you do that? It's making me wonder, do I really look so desperate for help?' He asked to himself remember what Ria did back then.

Ria is a beautiful lady and a child of the Morwen family. What she did back then though a small thing will just make things worse for Cali.

Many students in the school wants to get the attention of this girl and despite that, she always chose to be with fewer person or to be exact, with one person who is her only friend.

Ria seems to have an irresistible charm like that of a goddess and Cali cannot deny it but because he just lives a normal life and doesn't want to build any feelings for other people rather than himself, he is not making any contacts with anyone even if the students who wants to be close to him.

Now that he arrived at the library, he went to the second floor. There are no students there other than the librarian who is not even a faculty member or staff but just a student of the same year as him.

"Oh! Cali, you're here again?" Asked the boy with glasses.

"Hm hm... just like before."

"Hehehe... It's nice that you're here, It's like I am the only person on Earth by being alone here. So, how was your day? Did anything change?"

"Same as before Brayan. Nothing... changed."

Brayan Lenux, a well-known figure in here in the Northern Institute of Magic. He is a librarian and also a student that doesn't need to attend his classes because some teacher feels like there is nothing to teach him, he knew everything and is like he also knew everything inside the library.

Despite the name Northern Institute of Magic, professors do not just teach teach magic here. With the 8 hours of class everyday, 4 hours of it goes to magic and everything about it and also about the world we live at. And the remaining 4 hours is for academics.

"Cal, I suggest you to go in the row 1. There are new books there." Cali doesn't know how Brayan feels towards him. He's just a loser and a victim of bullying, he doesn't even know how the two of them knew each other's name.

'Maybe I have someone I can call my friend. But is he really a friend?' He asked himself.

This is a world where those stronger will survive and weaker will perish. Survival of the fittest, it is always like this, while it is okay to think it that way there are also humans who have a clean and kind heart who does not see the difference in power and status a big deal.
