IZABELA'S POV
The world came to a standstill for me. Birth his child? What does he mean? What was he talking about?
"I…I don't understand…" I stuttered.
"It's simple to understand, sweet girl. You will give me a son, then you will get your freedom, and Derrick will get the position he demand," he answered casually, as if what he said wasn't a big deal.
I swallowed hard, trying to take in every word he said, but it made my heart race faster. "I…I can't do that," I muttered.
What does Derrick and the Alpha king take me for? A girl whose job is to birth a child for the sake of a position? That was the height of it. Derrick had done enough!
"I never asked for your opinion. The deal has been sealed and now, you have to do as instructed."
"I can't," I said and shook my head. "I can't do that!"
He nodded and leaned back against the shut door. "I guess you aren't listening. Like I said, it's not a choice."
"It is my choice! This is my life you want to ruin!"
He stared at me, taken aback by my outburst. I don't care what he does to me for yelling at him, but I must do everything to get out of his clutches.
He suddenly smirked and clicked his tongue. "Well, I wasn't expecting you to agree to it so easily. Derrick already has this all under control." He stepped forward and I tried to move back, but I couldn't move my body. I was stuck in my spot.
He got closer, staring at me without blinking his eyes. "He told me to tell you that if you try to do anything stupid, your mother would be punished severely. You will end up hating yourself for what would happen to her."
My entire body shook and I immediately got overwhelmed by fear.
He stepped back with a corner of his lips curled up into a lopsided smile. "Well, I will give you time to think about this. When you are ready with an answer, I will be available to listen." He stared at me for a few minutes before he walked out of the room, leaving the door open.
It was my choice. I could run and never return, but my mother would have to face the consequences. She was still with Derrick, and even though I try to save her, he might harm her before I got back to my pack, which would take days before I got there.
I won't forgive myself if something happens to her. I sat back on the bed, giving up on the hope of ever getting out. I can't escape.
I clenched my hand, allowing my heart to be enshrouded by hate. Hatred for Derrick and Nicolas for treating me like I mean nothing.
I won't let this go easily, and also, may be this is a good thing in a way. One of my captors had that tattoo on his wrist. I could finally fulfill my long dream of killing the man who had killed my father before me.
I won't let any of them go easily. They hurt me, and I will do the same to them. I will get stronger, get my revenge, and get the hell out of this cage!
Having made my decision, I took in a deep breath and stood up.
I was led down the hallway, just as Alpha Nicolas had instructed. He had someone on standby by the door of the room, and when I came out, he offered to lead me to where he was.
Even though I planned on escaping, there would be no way. Nicolas wasn't going to take any chances.
The large door at the end of the hallway was opened wide, and I was led in. Immediately I stepped in, everyone present all had their eyes on me and I almost lost my step.
I wasn't expecting anyone. I thought it would be just me and him.
"My sweet girl, you came," his voice cut through my thought and I became aware of the gazes on me again.
I swallowed hard and fixed my gaze on him. I was there for him, so I shut out the thought that others were present.
He smirked and stood up from his seat. With slow strides, he walked to me and stopped just a few steps away. "I see you made your decision," he said with his voice low and firm.
I swallowed hard again before I nodded. “Yes, I made my final decision, I said in my head, not able to voice it out.
He let out a deep breath and faced the people. "Let me introduce you to Izabela Grey. She is my Luna and would give me an heir!" He announced and in the next second, the courtroom was filled with murmurs.
The Alpha wasn't bothered about anyone's opinion. He maintained a straight face while staring at me, and with those dark eyes of his directed to my face, my legs grew weak.
I quickly looked away and swallowed hard. I had to act strong, but Nicolas's presence had a strong force that kept pulling me down. His presence commanded authority that had to be obeyed.
“The Luna? She is another mistress of the Alpha. Such a shameless woman,” I heard a whisper.
“She is shameless. I am sure she threw herself at the Alpha. Every woman wants to be with him,” another said.
'Would she be good enough to give the Alpha his desire?' another asked.
Different harsh words coming from them. I looked at Nicolas and noticed he didn't seem bothered about their remarks.
The strength I thought I had gotten, suddenly vanished, bringing that scared girl back who would always run away and hide from her oppressors.
My legs were wobbly and staying there another minute would make me lose myself. I swallowed hard and stepped back.
"I need… I need to use the restroom," I muttered and ran out.
How dare Derrick sell me off? I was in for a long ride in the Denver pack. I was stuck with the devil, who only wanted to use me as a child-producing machine.
I walked into the closest restroom, thanks to the young lady I had seen in the hallway who showed me the way. I walked to the sink and turned on the tap.
What have I done? I made a wrong decision by deciding to stay back. I should have escaped or found a way to get myself out of this mess.
I splashed water on my face and looked at myself in the mirror. That was when I noticed I wasn't alone. Behind me was that red-haired lady who had gone hunting with me.
She had a deep frown on her face, and before I could turn and ask what she was doing there, she covered the space between us with a single jump and wrapped her fingers around my neck.
"You think I will let you give birth to a child for the Alpha?" She smirked. "Don't be delusional. Tonight would be your end."
Before I could figure out what she meant, I heard a snap in my neck. She twisted my neck and everything went dark immediately…
I couldn't breathe. A tight bag was wrapped around my head. I could feel it, but I couldn't react or try to save myself.
My soul was slowly seeping out of me. I knew what was going on. I was slowly dying, but I don't want to yet.
I still have to save my mother, and I have to avenge my father's death. The thought of them gave me the push I needed. I forced myself awake, and I gasped out for air.
There wasn't a tight bag around me, but the atmosphere felt suffocating.
"I see you are awake. You are a stubborn one who doesn't want to die, aren't you?" I heard a voice beside me and when I turned, my body shook, recognizing her immediately.
The red-haired lady. She was holding a shovel while her back was facing me. "Who… who are you?" I managed to ask, with my voice low and unclear.
"I am Natasha, the one who would lead you back to the goddess safely," she answered flatly, busy with whatever she was doing.
I looked down and noticed she was digging a hole. A deep, large hole, enough to contain a person.
"What… what do you… want from me?" I asked and swallowed hard, trying to wet my dried throat.
"Well, I just want to see you down the grave and covered. You will be gone like you never existed," she answered and let out a deep breath. "If only you had succumbed to the injuries I inflicted on you and died, you wouldn't have to see this or go through the pain of being buried. I tried to make your death painless, but you just had to wake up, didn't you?"
My heart raced frantically at her revelation. I tried to move, but not even a muscle responded to my effort. I was still, or rather, paralyzed.
"Why?" I cried, trying to get my body to work but to no avail.
"You think I will let you have the Alpha king's child?" She asked and faced me with a smug smile playing across her face. "No one can have his child except me. No one can be with him except me. No one can f**k him, except me. And to make that happen, I have to get rid of you. He has to take notice of me. Do you understand now?"
She's crazy. The way she looked at me and the smile on her face spoke of how insane she was.
"Please, let me go!" I cried. "I never wanted this. I was sold to him. I promise, I will leave and never show my face again."
"That's the problem. Alpha Nicolas would go to the ends of the world to find you, and then, you will tell him all about this. You just have to go like the other ladies before you," she answered heartlessly and walked to me. "You caused this upon yourself."
"Please no!" I cried, but she paid no heed. She pushed me to the grave she dug, and I fell in with a loud thud.
"Say hello to the ladies for me," she said and picked up her shovel. "And goodbye, forever darling…"
