Chapter 11Devante picked up his job hunt in earnest as September slipped into October and the reality of his empty days, with no more schoolwork to fill them, loomed larger and larger. His initial impression was right, and all full-time school librarian positions had been filled over the spring and summer, but he kept his eyes peeled for substitute positions, and any part-time work he could fit around his public library shifts in the meantime.
