Chapter 3:
Jihee's POV:
After hours of shopping with this retarded dude, we stopped by at an ice cream parlor.
"Here~" he said cheerfully as he put the ice cream in front of me.
He's annoying like a kid. I looked at him with a cold stare.
"I'm giving you free food and you'll just glare at me?!" he complained.
I just rolled my eyes and glanced over what he bought. Damn, mango and strawberies.
"Your eyes literally sparkled. Hahahaha! So, is it the mango or the strawberry?" he asked, asking me which one to eat.
He sat in front of me while I can't pick. This is prolly one of the hardest things I have to decide.
"Can't I just have both?" I gulped subconsciously.
"I heard that gulped. You're so funny Cussy! Hahahaha!" he kept on laughing.
"Retard."
"What the--!" he exclaimed but I'm pretty sure it's not because I called him that.
His eyes went wide and he's looking passed by me. I'm usually not interested but I still look back just to make sure he's not gone bonkers. Then I saw that there's an old geezer standing behind me.
"Fifi! My handsome grandson! Hahaha! How have you been? I haven't seen you since I arrived! Oh, who is this pretty girl. Is she your girlfriend?" the man keeps on laughing
"SHE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIEND! NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MY TYPE!" he yelled back.
"Don't be shy! Hahaha!" old man
"Choi Jihee." I said casually
"Choi Jihee? Hmm.." the man said like he's thinking about something
The teasing smile on his face faded off and it turned into a serious one. He looked at me from head to toe as if he's scanning me. Then he smirked.
"Perverted old geezer." I said blankly.
Gossips inside the shop started and some even whispered if they should call security or something.
"WHAAA??? I'M NOT! THIS GIRL! *coughs* You're Choi Jihee? Daughter of Choi Jia and granddaughter of Choi Jinki of the Terrives Group? Your dad is also the owner and CEO of Cowperthwaite Corp., right?" he asked.
"Terrives Group and Cowperthwaite Corp.? I didn't realized how big those are..." I heard Jiyong murmured to himself.
"I didn't know you're back in here? I hope Jiyong is not giving you a hard time?" old man asked.
"Gramps-" Jiyong whined.
I kicked his balls under the table.
"Could I report him if he does?" I asked.
"Sure! I'll be the first one to beat him up for you." the old geezer laughed
Now I know why Jiyong is such a retard. Maybe he got it from his grandfather. After talking to his grandson, he left.
We spent the next 2 hours watching a movie. Our 5 hours ended and we're on our way outside to wait for our rides.
"Uhmm.. Cussy.." Jiyong called.
"What?"
"Thank you. I thought it would be another boring day but thanks." he scratched his nape being kinda shy
"It's fine. No harm done." I said.
"Hey. Can you stop glaring at people coldly? You're making us freeze. It seems like you have a big problem about people." he said.
Now he's acting like we're friends.
"Don't pry. 5 hours is done, I'll go now." I said
There was a complete silence between us while waiting for our cars. Then I receive a message.
[Papa]
"What the hell?" I whispered.
"Something wrong?" Jiyong asked
"Oh? Oh. It's just my grand father. He only message me when I'm in trouble. What the hell did I do now?" I asked but just blabbering to myself
"Don't jinx it. Maybe it's a good thing." Jiyong smiled
Then a black van honked in front of us. It's probably his ride.
"Here's my driver. Want me to take you home?" he offered
"Hold that thought." I said.
He shrugged his shoulders and I go on into opening the message my grand father sent me.
[{Photo} My office now. With your boyfriend.]
A photo with Jiyong. He's not my boyfriend though. So, I'm being followed and spied on now? Why am I not even surprised?
"Fifi." I called.
"Can you not? *sigh* What is it?" he asked
"Are you busy?"
"Not really.. Why? Want to date me?" he smirked
"No."
I show him my phone.
"Let's pretend then!" he said excitedly.
"Why would I do that?" I asked coldly
"I know how old mind works. He thinks he's always right so if you tell him he's wrong, you might get punished plus he wouldn't believe you. Why would he hire someone to spy on you if he trust you, right? And besides there'll be no harm done, it'll be fun don't you think? Hahahaha!" he laugh
"You're such a fake. I don't wanna get involved in that."
I said but I still get inside his van. I told them where to go and we arrived at Papa's office in half an hour or so. His secretary greeted us at the lobby and ushered us to his office. He opened the door and let us both in.
"Papa- I mean, president." I bowed slightly showing some forced respect.
"Anderson?" he asked
"Huh?"
"He meant me." Jiyong whispered.
"Good evening sir, I'm Jiyong Fifi Anderson." he added
Papa stood up from his seat and walk towards us.
"From what I've heard, you're a part of the top students in school and very known for your pleasant personality. Jihee, you have a good taste in men." he pats my shoulder.
What's wrong with this demon. Acting nice even if he's not. It's so plastic. But then again, they're both the same so, no wonder they would get along pretty well.
"He's not my boyfriend.." I proclaimed
"Mr. Anderson, can you give us a minute?" papa asked.
"Sure sir." Jiyong agreed and left the room.
"Jihee. You're the only heiress of this huge group of company, not to mention that after I depart from this world, this and your father's corporation might become one. If that happens, it would be one of the largest company in the world and you're the sole inheritor. With that huge responsibility, I need you to make the right decisions on whoever you would let inside our family. You're smart. We don't really need the contract with the Anderson but it's a good deal, not a big loss either. I know that you know what I mean." he said.
"I don't really know what you mean. Not to even mention if I care as of now." I replied nonchalantly.
"Choi Jihee! I want you to make sure that, that boy, has no hidden agenda. You're not just any other teenage girl, Jihee. You're a Cowperthwaite and a Choi. In a world where women needed to work extra harder than men, you should be thankful to be given this opportunity. You need to know your goals for you to succeed in life!" Papa nagged.
As if I care. I have no immediate plans in taking over this company and if I have a choice, I wouldn't even take it. Bring it to your grave, man.
"Oh before I forgot, if it turns out that boy really had ulterior motives and ended up hurting you even if I already warned you, I'll make sure to bring them down and also goodbye freedom missy."
WHAT?! I'M NOT A KID!
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes and left the room.
He's not even my boyfriend. Why bring my freedom into this.
"What did he say?" Jiyong asked right away.
"I won't tell you." I rolled my eyes again.
Jiyong's POV:
That girl is extremely grumpy as hell. How is she gonna have a boyfriend at this rate? She doesn't even have friends aside from Wang Tyler. She's so pretty but extremely snappy, what a waste.
I asked my driver the drive her home and wow. For someone who lives alone, it's a large house. I didn't get off the car and just went straight home after.
I saw Gramps sitting at the living room reading some files.
"Hey." I greeted.
"We need to talk Jiyong."
What's with the serious atmosphere? I'm not used to this.
I sat across him.
"About what?"
"That girl, Jihee.." gramps started..
"What about her?" I asked.
"We need her. Do everything to be on her good side. Our company wouldn't be able to take it if we lost the contract with the Terrives Group."
"What? Gramps, I can't use her like that." I replied and was about to leave.
"You just have to befriend her. Be close to her. It turns out her grand father ask someone to follow her and if he sees you always having fun with her, it might help with the contract." Gramps insisted.
"What happened with business is business? Personal feelings shouldn't be involved?" I asked remembering what he told me as a kid.
"But this is different. Mr. Jinki Choi might not look like it but everyone in the company knows how much he treasures his family specially Jihee. Mr. Choi is said to be a father first before anything else." He explained.
"I don't know about that gramps." I said and left completely.
—a week after
Jihee's POV:
I heard someone knocking on my door.
"Jihee, wake up. Time for school." Daddy said.
"I don't want to! Go away!"
"You always say that since Tyler wasn't around anymore. You're gonna be late again." daddy
I grab my bedside clock and check the time, it's freaking 6:00 am. It's so early! Classes start at 8. What am I gonna do in 2 freaking hours.
"It's only 6!" I shouted
"You're slow and I don't want you to be late anymore." he replied.
"Don't you wanna know why Tyler left?" he asked which made me freeze on my spot.
"Jihee?" he called.
"No. I don't want to. No matter what the reason is, he still left me. Can you just please leave me alone!"
"Okay baby. I'll wake you up again at 7." Daddy said and I hear his footsteps fading away.
I embraced my pillow and went back to sleep.
My alarm clock for 7:15 am rang.
*sniff**sniff*
"Flowers?" I asked as I smell flowers inside my room.
While scratching my eyes, I get up and sat down on my bed. I slowly open my eyes because I'm still sleepy and I can't open it completely right away. I was caught off-guard when I saw a bouquet of pink roses beside me, lying on my bed.
"CUSSY! GOOD MORNING!" Jiyong jumped out of nowhere
"Jiyong? Why the hell are you in my room?" I yelled
"Help me!" he said
"I refuse."
He's been bothering me for a week now and honestly, I just want to slice his head off. Can he just stop bugging me?
"I told you that we'll stop after the contract had been signed! I have no plans on stealing your company by making you fall in love with me I promise!" he hit me with my pillow
"How dare you. It's not like I'll fall in love with you anyways." I said and laid back down to my bed.
"Is that a yes? Because if not, I'll barge in anytime." he laugh
Oh my freakin' gosh! This retard is seriously so annoying. I covered my ears with a pillow.
"CUSSY PLEASE!" Jiyong yelled
I sighed and get up to face him...
"I'll think about it. Now, just, go away!" I said to him.
"Good enough for me!" Jiyong smiled and left the room.
After he left my room, I hurriedly ran to the bathroom. After taking a shower, I start deciding on what I should wear.
I wore a white ruffled blouse filled with small pink stars and a pink fitted skirt. A white platform sneakers for my footwear and I'm ready to go. It's summer vacation soon so it's starting to feel hot. And if it suddenly rains later then, good luck to this shoes.
I went down on our dining area to see Jiyong and my Dad chatting with each other like they've known each other for a really long time.
"Jihee, you didn't told me you have such a prince-like boyfriend." Daddy greeted as he saw me walking towards them.
"Prince-like? Boyfriend? Princes only exist in fairy tales and Boyfriend only exist to those who can't be happy by themselves. Besides, boyfriends are overrated. You won't die just because you don't have one." I hissed.
I walk towards the fridge to get a glass of milk to drink.
"It's so early and you're already cranky." Jiyong utter with a teasing face
"Retard." I said "Let's go."
"Bye daddy!" Jiyong said to MY father
"Goodbye Jiyong." Dad laughed as he waved goodbye.
"Bye." I said coldly and left the house.
I glared at Jiyong with an extremely annoyed face.
"You have a cool dad." Jiyong smiled at me like a fool.
Cool? Leaving your only child alone even when she needed you since like forever makes you cool? He's the most incompetent parent I know.
