Am I owned?

Barbara IAM SOOOOOO LATE!!!!! Today is a new day. I came a week before to Chicago before the work starts because I wanted to know this city. I have been dreaming about being a successful independent and a free women since I have been little. There is so much chaos in my life that I can't believe that I escaped it all. I don't even want to think about it. Let's just say that iam going to do everything in my power to never be in a situation where I loose my freedom. Right now at the age of 22 that is the only thing going for me. Well that and finally this amazing job. Iam a personal assistant to Mr. Liam Gould. The famous businessman who apparently has his empire spread around this city and some other. I got this opportunity handed to me by my favourite person in the world ms. Lea who is a librarian at the small town i used to live at. One fine day she handed me the flyer to the job. It was a huge opportunity that I was pretty sure iam not going to get so what's the point of applying but she told me 'Barbara if u don't try u will never achieve what u want'.... She motivated me to fill in the form which I did.... And in a week I got the job. It is like a dream, the package is huge and I think iam a little under qualified for this job but iam going to try. With nothing stopping me now, I decide to put the past away and just leave it all behind me. So I escaped my past life for a bright future and here iam in the flesh. But I was so excited last night that I didn't sleep the whole night and fell asleep just this morning, didn't hear the alarm and here iam getting late. I settled in a nice cosy apartment near my work place but which I got at a really cheap price considering its at a prime location. The company provided it for me. I ran so fast I could feel my heart beating and my lungs were sucking in as much oxygen as they can. Finally I reached the building.. I ran inside showing my card to the security, then punching it in the machine and was inside the elevator. Wishing that my boss hasn't arrived yet. When I reached fifth floor, I realised not only I was late my boss was in his office and he knew that I was late. " Hurry up, he was really angry that u were late", a beautiful blonde told me. I just said sorry , fixed my hair in the mirror kept my purse at the cubicle and knocked at his office door. "Come in", he said. He sounded really rough.
