Jail break

3601 Words
Azazel ran his hand along the Sorrow Breaker. The inconvenience with the council was over so now he was free at the moment. Seated in his temporary quarters at the facility, he now spent his time admiring the sword he had almost lost. It was the brief but enlightening partition from the sword which made him appreciate the sword more than ever. He affectionately patted the blade and took all of its edges and sharpness as much as he could with his eyes. Such a magnificent and ancient blade, but still looking as new as ever, yet it had seen so much battle making Azazel realize how much he needed this sword. His train of thoughts went towards a certain blond who was the previous owner of Sorrow Breaker and Azazel couldn’t help but feel jealous. Jealous at how gracefully Lucifer wielded the sword, more than he could ever wield. Azazel envied how the sword felt so at home and natural in Lucifer’s possession. What angered and saddened him most was how the sword seemed to still yearn Lucifer’s touch even after all the time and battle Azazel and Sorrow Breaker had fought together. Azazel held the massive sword possessively. “You’ve done it again haven’t you?” A voice spoke behind him. Azazel turned back and saw it was his mentor Archangel Dominus. The dark haired angel bowed to his knee and greeted, “Mentor.” The old angel rubbed his eyes and spoke, “I don’t know what happened out there, Boy, but I do know that Michael’s brat had some ounce of truth in his accusation.” Azazel flinched at this. “You have to be careful and resist your urges, Azazel. Even I can only do so much to keep you out of trouble.” Dominus said tiredly. Azazel nodded silently. It was then the old angel noticed the distress his apprentice was in. “What’s the matter, Boy? What can be so bad that it troubled even one such as yourself?” Dominus questioned sternly. Azazel rubbed his face; his Mentor always did have a way of reading people. Mustering up courage he spoke, “The Late General.” Dominus’s eyes widened in realization, “You fought him didn’t you?” Azazel bolted right up, “You should’ve seen him Mentor! The way he moved. The seer power of his attacks, it’s absurd! Unbelievable! How is it even possible!” he exclaimed. “Frankly, I am surprised that you are still in one piece after fighting him.” the old angel muttered. Azazel grumbled, “All the fights. All the training, all for nothing?” Dominus narrowed his eyes, “Control yourself, Boy.” the sternness in his tone was enough to make his point clear but he continued, “Yet your point is right. He is too powerful to be taken down by strength alone.” “Then what do we do? Let him go?” “No we cannot. He is a threat to Celestia and I’ll be damned if he does anything. Not on my watch.” Declared Dominus with burning determination. Azazel slowly nodded in agreement, “Where ever you stand, I’m with you mentor.”                                                                                          ---X--- Zoya* always like to believe that she was a sane person who had seen some and done some crazy stuffs. That was one of the reasons why she was in the jail even after being just thirteen years old. The City Watch wasn’t exactly a good bunch, more like a very cruel and strict administrator who will whip anyone caught in the wrong end of the line. So it was not a rare, in fact a quite common sight to find a few innocent criminals in the prison now and then. But this woman in a cell next to her was in perhaps the worst condition she had seen. Stripped off most of her clothes with only a very tight fitting body suit left to protect her decency (which too was ripped in many places). Her silver hair was now greasy and dirty. Zoya couldn’t get a look on her face because the woman had a face mask but could get a pretty good guess that it was bruised. The young girl would’ve talked to her if it wasn’t for the fact that the masked girl was unconscious. Whatever the girl had done, the guards sure did a number on her. Probably more than she could’ve possibly deserved. A few hours later, Zoya could hear Guards approaching. And from the sound of it, someone was protesting loudly. “Oh great. Another roomy.” Muttered Zoya sarcastically. The voices got louder and turns out that Zoya was right. It was another prisoner. It was a girl with red hair and sliver eyes. Wearing an eastern-robe and seemed extremely drunk. Slurring comical nonsense now and then, making the guards more annoyed with each second. Finally reaching a cell (Which coincidentally was the same one in which Zoya was.) They opened the door and carelessly threw the drunken girl inside the cell. “Ouch.” She mumbled, who was now on her back on the floor. “Finally that’s over with.” The guards retorted, “A few more seconds and I would’ve shot her myself.” With that they left. A few moments passed by. Eventually the red head groaned and slowly sat up while rubbing her head. “That’s the last time I’m drinking rum.” She mumbled to herself. Upon seeing Zoya, her attitude brightened considerably. “Hi I’m Luna! What’s your name?” Zoya felt very uncomfortable as the girl, who said her name was Luna, was now before her in an instant and was sticking out her hand. Still not wanting to be rude, she answered, “Um....I am Zoya.” Awkwardly she shook hands with the bubbly girl. “Wow I was expecting to be alone in here but I’m really glad I’m not! Not that I’m glad that ‘you’re in jail’ kinda glad, just you know, hehe.” Luna rambled, making Zoya even more uncomfortable. “Oh and you’re so young! Why did they put you here?” asked Luna aghast as she closed into Zoya. Way to close for her comfort. The little girl scooted away a bit and stammered, “I..um…Kinda. Scrambled a local Herald speaker and made it play songs instead of news…So here I am.” Luna processed what Zoya said and giggled, “That’s funny.” It seemed to have calmed Zoya a bit, “Well unfortunately the Guards didn’t think so……What about you? How did you end up here?” “Oh it’s a long story….. All started with a bottle of rum and all went hazy…. Never mind. The point is, we came looking for a friend of ours.” “A friend…………. In Jail?” asked Zoya, confusion clear in her face. “Well, she was taken away and I heard that she was here...” spoke Luna while looking around. That was until she saw the masked woman in the other chamber. “Rose!” Luna exclaimed running towards the cell. The red head held the metal bars of the cell and the next thing Zoya saw was the metal bars melting away like snow in the morning sun, shocking her beyond words, “How?” Zoya was utterly speechless but upon seeing Luna, who now had got inside ‘Rose’s’ cell, was cradling her in her lap. The little girl made her way inside the cell as well, taking care not to touch the puddle of molten metal and stood beside Luna. “This is your friend?” she asked. Luna nodded; tears flowing down her eyes at the condition Rose was in, “Oh Rose, what did they do to you.” She sobbed while hugging the injured girl. Miraculously, Rose coughed awake because of the force exerted by the embrace. Luna was overjoyed. “Rose!” she cried in happiness. “L-Luna? What is happening?” the masked woman spoke weakly. “No time, we need to get you out of here.” Spoke Luna, carrying Rose on her back, confusing Zoya. “How will we get out of here?” she asked nervously. Zoya immediately regretted asking when she saw the mischievous glint in Luna’s eyes.                                                                                      ---X--- Lucifer really hated the situation he was in. True he had quite fun at the brawl but still he got into trouble for it, all thanks to Luna. Oh, he was gonna make her pay for this. Once they get out of the said situation. He knew that this city would be a trouble and thus he wanted to get away from the city. But fate had a twisted sense of humour as the Guards took them through the heart of the city and on to the other side where the main Prison and the City Watch headquarters were situated. With the ocean cutting off their escape from the three sides, the only way out of the city was through the city itself and out of the main gates at the west. The Prison itself was old but huge, surrounded with twenty metre tall walls with barded wires at top. Giant spot lights and scout towers with turrets after every twenty feet with many array of Guards patrolled the vicinity making escape nigh impossible. The interior was even worst. The rust and moss filled walls looked ages old and the cold and humid atmosphere of the prison gave it its own depth of despair. Not to mention that the place was dark at places, making it even creepier. Luna was separated from him as she was taken to the female sector and here he was being dragged towards his cell in the male sector. The Guards were rough and salty, “You made a big mistake mate. Now you’re gonna spent years digging in the mines.” One of them smirked cruelly. The two guards took the cuffed Lucifer towards his cell. Along the way, Lucifer saw many more inmates in the cells, all eying him with vicious looks. Soon they reached a small dirty cell, which would be his home for years. The Guard who was behind Lucifer held his already ruined jacket and tore it off making Lucifer grain in annoyance. It was then the Guards saw the Blonde’s double barrelled gun which was hidden under his jacket all this time. “Well look at that, this sod’s got a gun!” the Guard chirped. The other came over and pulled Lucifer’s gun out of its holster. Clearly amazed by the weight of the gun, the guard let out a low whistle, “Well ain’t she a beauty. I think I’m gonna keep it.” With that Lucifer was pushed into his cell. “That ain’t fair Mate! How come only you get the good stuff!” exclaimed the first Guard. “Want me to tell the Chief what happened last month?” “Fine, keep it, Asshole.” This was when an explosion was heard on the other side if the facility. “What the hell was that!” yelled the Guards. Having a good idea what that could’ve been, Lucifer acted fast. He easily broke the shackles around his wrist like it was nothing, shocking the Guards. Next, Lucifer lashed out and held the Guard who had his gun and pulled him towards himself. The Guard collided with the cell’s metal bar with such force that his helmet shattered. In his disorientation, the Guard let go of Lucifer’s gun, exactly like how Lucifer intended. The blond caught the gun in mid air and fired a shot at the other Guard before he could do anything. The poor mortal flew a good eight feet before he crashed into another cell with a gaping hole in his chest. Holstering his gun, Lucifer ripped the cell’s door off its hinges and walked out of the cell. Now he turned towards the direction of the explosion. “Damn it, Kid.”                                                                                        ---X--- Major Victor was in his quarters when the explosion occurred. He rushed towards the main room as soon as he could and barked. “What happened?” One of the Mortal Guard answered, “The female sector of the Prison has been breached sir.” This made Victor’s eyes widen in horror. He immediately sent the men to check on the ‘special prisoner’ and called his remaining angels. The angels soon assembled and awaited orders. Victor was elaborating the situation when a Guard made his way towards them and spoke nervously, “Chief, the special prisoner. She is gone…” This spiked Victor’s alarm a thousand fold. So much that he failed to notice that Private Gabriel was not amongst them.                                                                                          ---X---  “How?” was all Zoya could mutter because a moment ago, she saw Luna give a sinister grin and then a flash of Light. Next thing she saw was flames and their cells in ruins. Hell she was surprised how she was still alive. So all she could do was look at Luna like a gaping fish. The Phoenix merely grinned. She managed to blow up their cage and not hurt themselves in the process as well. But Rose gave her a deadpan stare (Who was still on Luna’s back) “Was that really necessary?” Luna blushed in embarrassment at this, “Sorry.” She mumbled bashfully. Rose sighed at this but couldn’t help but smile. This Phoenix was something else. Suddenly a loud ear splitting alarm sounded throughout the facility making them cringe. “Come on we gotta go!” cried Luna but there was a problem. She didn’t know the way and since she was indoors, she couldn’t use her Phoenix form. Plus she didn’t want to leave Rose or Zoya.  “You don’t know the way, do you?” Stated Zoya was a matter of fact. Luna sulked at this and nodded slowly. Zoya sighed and spoke, “Fine. I know a way out. Follow me.” Rose was surprised at whom the little girl was but Luna eagerly followed her. True to her words, Zoya lead the three females in the right direction, constantly avoiding enemies as much as possible. Which proved more and more difficult as the entire facility was on high alert.  A group of guards ran past their hiding spot behind a couple of pipes. When they were out of sights the three came out. “Okay, this way.” called Zoya turning around a corner with Luna and Rose hot on her heels. But all halted to stop as they all saw a tall armoured figure standing before them. It was an angel. This made Zoya confused, but seeing the panicked look in Luna and Rose eyes, she knew that it was not good. And to make matters worse. A guard who was passing by saw them. “Here they are! Get them!” Luna gritted her teeth. Having no choice, she was about to conjure a fire ball, that was until the Angel pulled out an R.M.P blaster and shot Guard before he could attack, shocking all of them. The helmet of the angel folded away, revealing that it was none other than Gabriel. Luna literally jumped in joy, “Gabe!” Gabriel narrowed his eyes at Luna at the nickname but kept his cool. So Instead he asked, “How is Rose?” Luna frowned, “She is hurt but okay for now. We need to get her out of here.” She pleaded. Gabriel nodded. “I understand; my shield is yours” he declared. Luna smiled at this while Zoya gave a confused look “The hell is going on.”                                                                                     ---X--- Lucifer put down yet another Guard. The City Guards were putting a lot of effort in slowing his progress. It didn’t really pose him threat but it was getting really annoying and the fact that the immortals could intervene at any moment made it much more important to find Luna because while Mortals would not be much of a threat, the Immortals certainly were. He heard sounds of fighting, one which was not being made by him so he made his way towards it. Going through a metal door which opened to a metal cat walk, he looked over the railing and saw Luna and much to his surprise, Gabriel & Rose along with a mortal child. They were getting swarmed by Guards. So Lucifer lent a hand. From the cat walk, he had a well elevated position to pick off Guards who got past Gabriel. This carried on for a while till body count got too high and soon the guards had to retreat as they took too much casualties. Lucifer vaulted over the railing and fell on the ground on his feet. Quite badass way to make an entrance. “Luci!” Luna yelled in joy. “Kid, you’re in so much trouble…” Lucifer spoke until he received a very hard punch in the face courtesy of Gabriel and man he looked pissed. “That’s for selling us out, you bastard.” Lucifer, unfazed by the punch, walked up to Gabriel. Towering over him, the fallen angel growled, “Do that again and I will break you, Boy.” Gabriel in turn glared back, not backing down a bit. Both out of bravery and stupidity. Luna suddenly barged between them and yelled, “Guys we have more important stuff to do!” They both looked at Luna who in turn pointed at Rose on her back. The two angels nodded begrudgingly but the look in their eyes clearly said that this wasn’t over. The group of five made way towards the main entrance of the facility. They would’ve made a run for it, if the gates were not closed and Guards were not stationed on the Turrets on the top of the Scout towers. Lucifer analyzed the gate and spoke, “The gate will not be a problem, I can break it.” His words Caused everyone to be surprised. Gabriel then scoffed, “Even if you made it past the gates, the angels will hunt you down. You’re not fast enough and I will not risk Rose with you.” Lucifer glared at the young angel but he knew Gabriel was right. “I think I have an idea.” Zoya raised her voice in the fray. The two turned towards her with such furiosity that Zoya had to calm her panicking heart. She did let out squeak however, with in Luna’s opinion was adorable. “There is a train which takes the prisoners to the mines. We can use it to get away.” She proposed with a whimper. Everyone stared at her with blank face. Until Lucifer spoke, “Who are you again?” Zoya resisted the urge to face palm and spoke, “I am Zoya.”  “Good enough, Child. But we will need a diversion for this.” Because diversion is love. Diversion is life.                                                                                           ---X--- Victor was having a hard time, he had most of his troops guarding the entrance and others were tearing the facility down for the Demon. The Demon had no Maya left in her system. They had made sure of that so it was impossible for her to escape on her own, so it meant that they had some intruders amongst them. But the question was who? Who would be stupid enough to provoke the wrath of the entire Celestial army? (Somewhere Luna and Lucifer sneezed violently.) Suddenly another alarm went off. Victor turned to his men and asked, “What now?” “Chief, someone freed all the Prisoners!” The major rubbed his temple in despair, “Can it get any worst!” he whined.                                                                                         ---X--- Zoya was really uncomfortable with this plan. Lucifer idea of diversion was to use the Prisoners as cannon fodders. So they had to fight their way towards the Emergency Control room. This room had the function to open the doors of all the cells in the facility. Mostly used during emergency or while taking the Prisoners to the mines. But today it served another purpose. When they freed the Prisoners, the entirety of them pounded on the Guards like Rabid dogs. It was total chaos everywhere. Even though a bit cruel, the plan was effective. This disarray was all the diversion they could hope for and it would serve to keep the gaurds busy till they made their escape. With that out of the way, the five made their way towards the train platform. The sight of those huge engines relieved them of much of their worries. Choosing a lone Engine, they got on board the Vehicle. Luna sat Rose down carefully; While Lucifer looked at the very complicated array of buttons, meters and levers that was the Engine’s control panel. Turning to Zoya he asked, “Tell me, Child. Can you work this thing?” Zoya nodded and immediately worked on it, proving her usefulness even if she was but a little mortal girl. All seemed to be going by plan, until Gabriel pointed his R.M.P blaster at Lucifer. Everyone was astonished. “Gabe?” muttered Luna Gabriel had a stoic face, “My honour demands me that I see to the safety of Rose. But my duty as an angel of Celestia demands me to execute you Lucifer as by the Council’s command.”……………………………………………
