I have my own pride, ok?” Layla yelled, the bitterness pouting off her was so great that Adonis himself was startled and almost scared.“Calm down ok…just rest, there's no need yelling and screaming, I'm just doubtful because I had a vasectomy last year and it's impossible to give a woman a child” Adonis tried to explain.“Why don't we go for A DNA test, if you really think I'm lying or want to pin this pregnancy on you. The only thing I need is money and help to take care of myself and my child. I'm not able to Carry the responsibilities alone,so let's go for a DNA test” Layla suggested in a calm voice.Adonis thought about it for sometime before agreeing that she was right, A DNA test would show everything and he needed a test too to know if there was an error in the previous surgery that he had.© ©Adonis looked around the doctor's office, wondering when last he had been in a place like this The doctor entered with the results in his hands.He sat on the seat and faced Adonis.“Mr Elrod, the results from your semen showed that the vasectomy was done successfully but the thing is that sometimes things like that can fail and that Is why we still advise you to use a condom even though you had a vasectomy” the doctor said.Adonis clenched his fists and looked around “what about the DNA test, have you done it?” Adonis asked The doctor took a deep breath and said f “I'm sorry sir but I don't think that would be impossible, the child in miss Holloway's stomach Is too small and barely formed, the process used in DNA testing for unborn children can easily lead to miscarriage, disabilities and other dangerous things” The doctor explained.Adonis took a deep breath “so you mean it's impossible and there's no way for me to know if the child really is mine?” Adonis asked, the doctor shook his head slowly “But I don't think Miss Holloway would be the kind of person who would try to pin pregnancy on your head, she looks too innocent to do that” the doctor said in a bid to speak up for Layla.Adonis glared at him “I've been in the business world for years now and I tell you that innocent looking women do the most, they are not to be trusted at all especially someone like her who was a CEO of a company” Adonis said and stood up from the seat, he walked towards the door, he opened the door but stopped and looked at the speechless doctor“I don't want to hear a word of this outside, you know what happens to talkatives right?...they stop existing” © ©Layla played with her fingers, anxiously waiting for Adonis to be done talking to the doctor, she wondered what would be the results of the DNA test.Would he actually find out that the child was his…The door of the ward swung open and Adonis walked in, his powerful gaze landed on Layla who strengthened up immediately.“What was the result?” She asked anxiously.Adonis kept quiet and walked towards the bed, he plopped down on the chair and stared at Layla intently.The atmosphere in the hospital ward was so tense and cold to the extent that Layla felt like an evil spirit was targeting her.Now she finally confirmed why many people in the business world were scared of Adonis Elrod.“According to the doctor, performing a DNA test on your child is risky because of whatever medical jargon he was spitting out,” Adonis said carelessly, crossing his long legs together.“Oh…it's not a plan between me and the doctor if you think so …I don't even know him…I don't even have the money to…”“When did I ever say that?
