Can She Serve Two Masters? In Goldoni’s eighteenth-century play The Servant of Two Masters the hero cunningly exploits both his employers, playing one off against the other. The same plot formed the basis of Kurosawa’s Japanese film Yojimbo, which in turn was the source of Clint Eastwood’s first spaghetti Western, A Fistful of Dollars, in which Clint works for two opposing bands of outlaws, who end up destroying each other. But Clint is the very epitome of a Dom. He can handle it. A submissive on the other hand would never seek to gain advantage by setting one master against another for her own ends. A submissive doesn’t have ends of her own. Her end is to serve her Dom’s purposes. So how could she bow the knee to more than one? I’m not talking about when a Dom allows another man to use
