By the time Adam and Pluto got back with the cars, Kenzie was about to walk into the woods to get to her family house. Everyone knew that she was on edge and no one wanted to say anything to her about it. She knew that there was so much at stake and she had to find away to bring it all to an end.
“Kenzie you don’t have to walk. We have cars now, so we can drive there.” Adam yelled across the way to get her attention.
Looking at him like he lost his mind for yelling, she walks to where he is standing next to one car. She climbs in and doesn’t say a word to no one. Everyone followed suit and go into one car so they could get to the house. Getting to the house we park in front of these big bold gold and red doors. They look like none other you would ever see on a normal house. We all get out and walk up to the doors and the doors open up on their own. Then I can see this short little woman standing there with some hot cups of tea. We take our cups as we walk in and was lead to the former living.
“Kenzie What do you think of the house so far?” Grandpa Scott asked her with a smile on his face.
“It is very lovely from what I have seen so far. I can’t wait to see it in the morning. To see all the places that my parents spent time. I noticed some writing on the walls when we came in. What are those for and what did they say?” Kenda asked grandpa Scott.
“They are things that our families have put there over the years. Some say they are spells, others say they are an inspiration for our family.” Grandpa Scott explained to her.
“I see. I would like to read them in the morning. Maybe even write a few of them down to study them.” Kenda said as she looked around the room.
“Very well, let us all go to our rooms for a good night sleep and we can start fresh in the morning. Ruth here will show you all to your rooms. Have a good night.” Scotty said as he and Dusty walked off to their own rooms in the house. The rest followed Ruth to their rooms for the night.
“Kenzie, are you OK? You don’t seem yourself tonight. I am here if you want to talk. I don’t want you to think you have to go through this on your own.” Adam tried to get her to talk, but she walks into the bathroom to get ready for bed without saying a word. What did I do to get that reaction out of her? I just want to help her and be there for her. Why won’t she let me?
Adam watch Kenzie come out of the bathroom and look at him with nothing in her eyes. Like she was in another world and not here with him. Adam walks into the bathroom to get ready for bed when he gets a vision in the mirror. He saw that Kenzie was in a meditation state, that she was learning from her mother how to do some spells and fighting lessons. That is why she isn’t herself. She can answer basic questions but not much more than that right now. Adam now understood what was going on with Kenzie and could be patient for her to come out of it. SO he walked back into the bedroom and seen that she was fast asleep already. Hoping that she would be back to normal in the morning, he laid down beside her and went to sleep.
I slept like a baby and I remember little about last night. That is so odd. I recall getting here seeing some writings on the walls and going to bed. I remember nothing else. I will have to ask Adam about it when he gets up. Going downstairs to find some food. On her way down she saw more writing on the walls. She stopped and read one out loud.
“That morning I was not yet a vampire, and I saw my last sunrise. I remember it completely, and yet I can’t recall any sunrise before it. I watched the whole magnificence of the dawn for the last time as if it were the first. And then I said farewell to sunlight and set out to become what I became. Anne Rice”
I guess if you think about it; I am about to do the same thing in my life. Could this be what it is like when we transform into my new life. I will find out soon enough. Off to get some food I am hungry. Continuing down her path to finding food, she comes across a picture of her parents.
“I didn’t hear you walk up Adam.” Kenzie said when she felt Adam’s hand on her shoulder
“I didn’t think you did. You seemed to be lost in that picture of that couple.” Adam replied.
“That couple in the picture is my parents. I just can’t help how much I look like them, yet I don’t know them at all.” Kenzie told her thought out loud.
“Kenzie I know this is hard to be here and not know them and yet in a small way you feel connected to them. It just will take some time to get to know how they were. You will get to know them in one form and in other ways too. Just give it some time, now let’s go get some breakfast.” Adam tried to make her feel a little better.
Walking hand in hand to the dinning hall where they met up with everyone else to have breakfast. On the table set all kinds of different foods. There was enough food to feed an army and then some. With everyone setting down to eat, she looked around to see that there were some people here that she didn’t know. This must be some people that live here and work at the house. Everyone ate in silence and time everyone was done more people came in to eat.
I get up and start to walk around to look at everything and let everyone finish eating. She comes to a wall that has these words on it: Vampires have been featured in folklore and fiction of various cultures for hundreds of years, predominantly in Europe, although belief in them has waned in modern times. I wonder what that is doing there. Why would they tell what humans think about vampires. She kept reading and found more. Because there is a long history of walking corpses and bloodsucking ghouls in folklore, it is difficult to pin down a distinct set of characteristics consistently attributed only to vampires. Then she figured out it is the humans theory of vampires and what they think vampires are. Then she realized that there is more that they are telling. She was finding this interesting more and more. She wondered what she would write on these walls when it was her time to do so.
Most depictions, vampires are “undead”—that is to say, having been somehow revived after death—and they say many to rise nightly from their graves or coffins, often containing their native soil. A person may become a vampire in a variety of ways, the most common of which is to be bitten by a vampire. Creatures with vampire characteristics have appeared at least as far back as ancient Greece, where stories were told of creatures that attacked people in their sleep and drained their bodily fluids. Belief in vampires led to such rituals as staking corpses through the heart before we buried them. In some cultures they buried the dead face down to prevent them from finding their way out of their graves. In the 20th century vampires began to turn from being depicted as predominantly animistic creatures and instead displayed a broader range of human characteristics. The spirits of the departed are not only venerated but also feared, especially the spirits of those who were prematurely deprived of life and its joys. We believe it that such spirits are greedy for the good things thus lost and that they attempt to return to life—to the peril of the living. They are the prematurely dead, the so-called unclean dead.
During the 18th century, there was a frenzy of vampire sightings in Eastern Europe, with frequent staking and grave diggings to identify and kill the potential revetments. Even government officials engaged in the hunting and staking of vampires. So infamous vampire cases, the first to be officially recorded, involved the corpses of Petar Blagojevich and Miloš Čečar from Serbia. They reported Blagojevich to have died at 62, but allegedly returned after his death asking his son for food. When the son refused, I found him dead the following day. Blagojevich supposedly returned and attacked some neighbors who died from loss of blood. These vampires were corpses, who went out of their graves at night to suck the blood of the living, either at their throats or stomachs, after which they returned to their cemeteries. The persons so sucked waned, grew pale, and fell into consumption; while the sucking corpses grew fat, got rosy, and enjoyed an excellent appetite. It was in Poland, Hungary, Silesia, Moravia, Austria, and Lorraine, that the dead made this good cheer. “Coven has a collective noun for vampires, possibly based on the Wiccan usage. An alternative collective noun is a house” of vampires.”
Vampires are evil mythological beings who roam the world at night searching for people whose blood they feed upon. They may be the best-known classic monsters of all. Most people associate vampires with Count Dracula, the legendary, blood-sucking subject of Bram Stoker’s epic novel, Dracula, which was published in 1897. But the history of vampires began long before Stoker was born.
Vlad Dracula was born in Transylvania, Romania. He ruled Walachia, Romania, off and on from 1456 to 1462. Legend Vlad Dracula enjoyed dining amidst his dying victims and dipping his bread in their blood. Whether those gory tales are true is unknown.
I can’t believe how much you can learn just by reading the walls in this place. I just don’t understand why they write in on the walls so everyone can see it.“Not everyone can see it Kenzie.” Grandpa Dusty told her“Why?” Kenzie asked“Only the true believers and the ones who are connected to the house can read what is on these walls. That is the spell we put on this house. So it will keep our secrets.” Dusty explained.“Oh, that makes it a little easier to understand. You wouldn’t want everyone knowing all of this.” Kenzie knowledge's.“Keep reading and you will learn a lot more. Your parents put things on the wall. So I am sure you will find it.” Dusty said as he left her to continue on with reading the walls.
“Thank you for explaining what you grandfathered. I can’t wait to find what my parents wrote.” Kenzie yelled after Dusty. Dusty just waved and went on his way, leaving her to what she will discover in the house.I can’t wait to tell Adam what I have found so far. It is so interesting to know that not everyone can read what I am reading. So that means there could be something about my Aunt Tammy on these walls somewhere to help me know what she will do or why she is doing what she is doing. I will have to read more and keep looking for all the information and write the important parts that I need to share with everyone else.
