Even though no one is sure what the last challenge will hold for them. they still press on with their mission. Kenzie was laying back resting her eyes when she gets a call in her mind from someone gives her information on how many people are in the cave and that there is a trap about two miles up ahead of her now. She is trying to figure out who is sending this message to her, but it’s hard to figure out.

“Kenzie, dear I know you don’t remember me which is hard for me too. I am your mother and I will guide you until you mate fully with Adam. Which you will have to do within the next year. Your father will be able to only come once maybe twice. He doesn’t have the power I had to do this with you. Just know I love you and so does he and we are proud of how you have turned out. Your Aunt wasn’t always a bad person, she used to hold family dear, until the Goddess seen in her heart she was not of a pure heart. She didn’t hold the supernatural world’s best interest, she was only thinking of herself. She blames me and your father for that since he was my true mate and not hers. She killed anyone who protected us and you. If your grandfathers would have been home, she would have killed them too. They will learn the truth soon enough. Trust Adam and Plato, they will help guide you in the right direction. Plato is your guard and advisor he will always put you a first above anyone and he will not take a mate unless she is loyal to you as he is. Adam is your true mate, your father sent him to you. I have to go, be careful and talk to them to let them know what is going on with you so they can help. I will be back soon.” and it went the voice of her mother.

Kenzie woke up in a rush of confusion but calm and relax knowing she got to meet her mother and now her father sent that Adam. It was a little hard to take that even when they were gone that they can still help me and give their blessing on my mate. She couldn’t wait to talk to Adam about that. She knew now it was time to talk to Adam and Plato to explain everything to them. She looks over to see Adam is asleep, and that Plato is reading so she will wait till they have time to really talk. Then she remembers that her mother said that there was a trap up ahead. She needed to warn everyone. We need to pull over now and have a meeting before we go another mile. Kenzie mind-linked with everyone at the same time and didn’t know how she did it. Everyone was wondering how she did it and she had no answer for them. Everyone pulled over to see what was going on and why they all heard Kenzie in their head. Everyone got out of the cars and headed to the front car so they could have a meeting and asked questions. Everyone was getting confused and worried.

“Kenzie, What’s going on and how did you speak to us in our minds?” Colt asked before anyone

“I don’t know how I could talk to all of you in your mind. I will have to figure that out later, but I had a visit from someone and they came to me in my dream. They say there is a trap ahead about a mile. There are at least 6 different shifters. They are under a spell put on them by my Aunt. I will need some lavender and peppermint to make a powerbomb to blind them and then I will need dragon breath and bluebells to make a cure for them. We will need to knock them out and then have the drink the cure. I will have to explain the rest later. I will need people to get the ingredient so I can make this before we head in.” Kenzie announced to everyone.

Six men go off to get the things Kenzie needs to make the cure and the blinding dust. Once they get back, she makes everything and they head toward the trap. Then just as they spring the trap she throws the dust out of the car and at the attackers. They are all rubbing their eyes, that is when they all get out and knock the attackers out. They tie up all their attackers and Kenzie wakes them up one by one to get them to drink the cure. Then she gives them a choice to go home and warn their people or stay and help get the ones who did this to them. Half leaves and the other half stays to help. Kenzie stops Adam just before he gets into the car.

“Adam there is so much I need to tell you. I now know how to tell you and I know who sent you to find me. We chose you for me and I know who did the choosing. I want you to know that I am happy that you're mine and that I love you very much. There is more to say but I will tell you when we have more time.” Kenzie kissed him like there was no tomorrow and step back to climb into the car, leaving a very surprised Adam.

He climbs into the car with a big smile on his face and reaches for Kenzie’s hand. After about two more hours of driving, they reach the third and final gate. There are three guards and that means at least three riddles they will have to answer. Adam, Colt, Kenzie, and Plato get out and head to the guards.

“Welcome to your final challenge. It will be the hardest one yet. If you pass you get to go through the gate if you fail you all die. Do you wish to proceed?” The first guard asked

“We do,” They all say in unison

“I will ask you for your first riddle. They trap a person in a sealed room with only two doors. One door leads to a dragon, the second to a glass room. He knows he would get eaten by the dragon, he also knows it would burn him alive in the glass room. How does he escape?” The first guard asked his riddle.

They all take a step back so they can talk out the answers with each other. It takes several minutes before Plato comes up with the answer they all agree on. They walk back to the first guard to give their answer.

“He waits till nightfall and then goes out through the glass room,” Plato says to the first guard

“You are correct. You may now get your second riddle.” The first guard says as he takes a step back.

“I see you are smart. That is good, you will need to be. There is a green house inside a green house, there is a white house inside a white house, there is a red house inside a red house. There are many babies, what is it?” The second guard asks his riddle

Again the all step back and talk among themselves. They take even longer the second time to come up with the answer. They all seem to think the same thing when Kenzie tells them it's a watermelon, and that's what they go with. They walk back up to the second guard to give him their answer.

“You had us there for a little, but I think we have the answer you seek. It’s a watermelon.” Kenzie responds to the second guard.

“You are correct and may go to your final riddle. I wish you luck.” The second guard said to them all and took his leave.

“Welcome to your final riddle. I wish you the best of luck on this. I have many feathers to help me fly. I have a body and ahead, but I'm not alive. It is your strength which determines how far I go. You can hold me in your hand, but I'm never thrown. What am I?” The third guard asked them.

They step back to their final time to talk this one over. None of them was sure how to answer this one. They went to the car got a drink, and some food walked back to talk more. Then it came to Kenzie when she looked at the bird shifters then she thought of the hunters. They explained it to the guys, and they still weren’t following her.

“The hunter uses feathers to make their arrows they have to use their strength to send flying through the area, but they don’t throw they shoot them through the air. Get it. The answer is an arrow.” Kenzie said to all of them.

They all looked at her funny on how she came up with the answer to the riddle and they weren’t sure if they agreed, but they were too late to say anything because Kenzie was walking up to the final guard.

“I have the answer you seek. The answer is an arrow.” Kenzie responded quickly to the final guard.

“You are correct my queen.” The final guard answered and stepped aside for them to pass through the gate.

“Wait, why did you call me queen?” Kenzie asked him

“You are the one we sought to come and set us free, only the true queen could have answered all the riddles to all the gates and set us free from here and we all thank you.” He told her all of this and then vanished, no one knew where he went.

They all cheered that they made it through all the gates and they hurt no one. Now they have to finish what they started to rescue the people in the castle just up ahead of them. They knew they would need to make camp and rest for a while so they could go in there with full strength and a clear mind. Kenzie felt that now would be a good time to talk with Adam and Plato since they had a moment.

“Adam, Plato Can I speak to both of you for a moment?” Kenzie asked them both

They looked at each other then shook their heads at her and then followed her to a more private area so they could talk.

“I have a lot to explain to both of you. I know some of it will be hard to hear and to understand. I find it a little overwhelming myself. Someone has told me it’s time to tell you both how you fit in my life and why. I also need to explain a lot to you so you both will do what they put you in my life to do. So, are you ready for all of this?” She looked at them and asked

“Kenzie no matter what it is you have to tell us, we are here for you till the end.” They both said

“OK, Well the person who keeps coming to me in my dream is my mother. She is the one who has been guiding me through all of this. She says that my father will visit soon but he can’t do it as often as her. Also, Plato, you will find a mate and you both will be loyal to me alone. You will not accept just any mate. According to my mother if they can’t be loyal to me like you are then you turn them away, but she tells me you find your true mate in the spring. That you and she will become my guards and advisors. Adam, you are my true mate and that my father picks you out to be that for me. You have their blessing since they chose you. I am to be the queen of all the supernatural because I have a pure form of heart. My children will take over and split the lands so they will both rule together. This is what destiny holds for me and my children. My children will be the purest of hearts that anyone has ever seen, but there will come a time they too will have to face a great evil. I just don’t know when. I can speak to every animal, bug, and plant. I can hear anyone’s thoughts if I choose too. It’s because I am related not only to Dracula himself but to the goddess herself. That is why I have great power and why I was chosen for this. My Aunt will never have this and she knows it, but she is trying to make a path for her children she has kept hidden away. I will need you both to help me along the way to offer guides and strength. Just know you both mean the world to me and I know we will get through this. I hope I have eased your mind a little and helped you understand. Now I need you both to hold out your right hand.” Kenzie explained a lot to them and told them most of what is going on. Now she needed to pass on the link so they could mind-link her and know when she was in trouble. They both held out their right hand to her, and she took one at a time and zapped them each with a power that brought them to their knees. Once it was all done, they looked at her for an explanation.

“I just gave you the power to talk to me in the mind and to know when I am in trouble or anything else. You will feel what I feel. I will teach you to shield me and I will keep up walls so you don’t get overpowered. Let’s go back to the others now, we can talk later.” She headed back to the others so they could get head to go to bed. They all had a big day in the morning.
