She arrived at the hotel near the airport and she checked in and went right to her room with Adam. She knew Adam had questions and she would answer them once they were lonely.

“I know you have questions for me. Just let's get to the room and settle in and we can talk. I will try to explain and answer as much as I can. There are still things I don’t have answers too just yet. So be patient with me, please.” She sent to him through their mind link that was strong but not fully since they not completed the mating. He smiled at her and squeezed her hand to let her know he understood. They arrived at their room and walked to the bedroom to set their things down. Adam walked to the phone and called room service to get a little snack and something to drink for them both. Then he walked over to Kenzie who was on the balcony looking over the small area.

“What’s on your mind?” Adam asked as he wrapped his arms around her.

“There is so much running through my mind. That I don’t know if I am processing it all. I am not sure I even understand it all. The chief told me a lot I need to share with you.” Kenzie explained to him.

“I’m not trying to rush you into explaining. I understand that this is all new to you. I just have a little more understanding on some of it than you. But we are both learning here. I can sense some of your stress and pain over this. It’s ok if you can’t explain it all just don’t shut me out to where I can’t help at all and know nothing of what is going on. I still feel the need to protect even if you have more power than me.” Adam tried to explain himself and show here that he understood where she was coming from.

“The chief said he knew both my parents and that they were both powerful in their own right. Since I am a hybrid, my power could be unlimited from what he was saying. He will train me on what he can but says there will be things I will just know and some that I will have to learn on my own. He knows so much Adam and yet I feel like I know him somehow. Plus, I also think I know how to help the Croc shifter to rebuild their numbers. It’s all rolling around in my head and I haven’t got it all straight just yet. Plus, I know that once we mate fully, we will have twins. They will be powerful and our enemies will try to take them. She will fail this time I know. She gets away and we may not see her for a while, I just don’t know how she gets away or when. I know that she will try again after our twins are born. That’s all I know right now. I just know we are in for one hell of a battle.” Kenzie explaining to him the best she could.

“I can’t believe you have seen all that. How have you not gone crazy with all that information inside you? Is there any way I can help you with any of this? Plus, you know we will be parents and have twins. I can’t wait to see them. Do you know when they will come?” Adam asked her so many questions

“I’m trying to set up like a filing system in my mind to keep me from going crazy. You being here and going through all this with me is helping. I am not sure if there is anything else you can help with but I will let you know. I do not understand when we will have our children. I just know that we do. I am sleepy know. Can we go to bed so we can get an early start?” Kenzie explained and then asked a question herself. Then there was a knock at the door.

“That would be room service with a light snack and drinks. Eat something and then shower and go to bed, my love.” Adam replied to her in a sweet voice.

They had a snack, and they both took a shower. They were both asleep by the time their heads hit the pillows. Something awakened them by people knocking on their door at five in the morning. Adam got up to answer the door and got shocked to see everyone up and ready to go. He told them they would meet downstairs for breakfast to go over their next move. He walked back into the bedroom and seen that Kenzie was heading to the bathroom to get ready. He got ready in the bedroom so when Kenzie came out he only had a few things to do in the bathroom so they could go get breakfast. Adam was still reeling from what Kenzie told him last night.

“Adam hurries up, we are already late. Stop thinking about all the things I told you and Let's go. I have already packed our bags and have them by the door.” Kenzie yelled at him

“I’m coming now, honey. I will grab our things as we walk out head down there I’m right behind you.” Adam replied to her

They walked out and head for the elevator to go down for breakfast with everyone else. They ate and then Kenzie stood up to talk with everyone. She asked Adam and Colt to join her. They both walked up to her and looked a little confused about why they were standing up with her.

“Let me explain. We will have to split up into three teams to do what needs to get done today. Adam will lead one team, Colt will lead a team, and myself will lead a team. We will need a mixture of all talents on all three teams. So I need to put all of you into groups of your talents. That way I can try to divide everyone equally. Once this got done I will tell you what each group will do and where you will be going. So please be patient with me. Thank you.” Kenzie announced to everyone

They all split up into groups: trackers, flyers, swimmers, seers, fighters. There were enough people in the groups to put two on each team. That way they could cover more group and go in on more sides of where they needed to be. She already knew where Colt’s son was being held. It was just going to take some time to get him out unharmed. Once the teams got put together, she got out a map to show everyone what her plan was.

“Ok, now we have the team can everyone please look at the map I have here, please. I have the spot marked where Colt’s son is being held at. He will not get easier freed. We will need to come in on three different sides and time it just right to where we go in at the same time. If I am correct he is being held by a new hybrid that my Aunt has created. This is a trap to get Colt to come to her and get him to turn over all the information he had on my parents and then she plans to take his power before he can pass it to his son. Then she plans to kill them both. to start a war with the other supernaturals so she can come in and look like she is trying to save them till she turns on them and takes their high-ranking people’s power so she can try to take me down. That is why we need to do this just right, also we have a trader in our group. If you haven’t noticed one of our flying friends is not here at the meeting right now. He is outside right now telling her we are getting ready to leave since that is what I lead him to believe so he would tell her that. We will leave tonight instead and get there in the morning. He needs to get taken care of after this meeting.” Kenzie informed everyone of the plan and about the trader she overheard when she was getting her breakfast. He was a little bat flyer that came with them from the village and the chief didn’t know where he came from when she mind-linked him and asked him and the little dude. She knew the guys would take care of him. She felt bad she had given the order for his death. She knew in war times things can’t always be helped.

“Why didn’t you tell me this morning about all of this before we had the meeting?” Adam asked her

“There wasn’t time, and some information didn’t come until we walked into the meeting or when we got down here for breakfast. I’m sorry if you feel like I am not keeping you in the loop, but I can’t help when and how I get news. I just haven’t figure out how to link your mind to all of this just yet or if they can even do it. I’m trying the best I can.” Kenzie said but was trying not to show the pain she felt inside.

“I know you are trying, I just feel useless when I can’t help you and I can feel that you need it,” Adam stated

Then Adam walked away to leave Kenzie to her thoughts. He knew she was having a hard time with all of this and didn’t know how to help just yet. He just knew that she needed him but didn’t know how to let him in where he needed to be. He just hoped he was strong enough to help when the time came and he could let him in.

They told Kenzie that they took care of the trader and that it was safe to leave and they could be on their way anytime now. Kenzie got food and drinks for their trip and wanted to make sure they had everything they needed. It would take them an hour to get there and then another half hour to hike to where they needed to be. They still needed to set a signal up so they all knew when to go in. She was trying to think when she heard that there was something flying up ahead. This is what she couldn’t see coming. It was the first of the test they had to get through to make it to the land where they need to hike to. Few passed this part or the next two. I would say a handful of people made it there and back again. They stopped the cars and Kenzie walked to the first flying monkey man.

“You can’t pass through here unless you can answer my riddle. I’m with you in the light, but I leave you at night, At different sizes, I appear, but I will not harm you so have no fear, What am I?” The monkey man asked

Everyone was trying to figure it out, and no one was sure what it was until Kenzie looked at the monkey guy and busted up laughing.

“Sorry, I don’t mean to laugh at you. I know you are just doing your job. The answer is your Shadow.” Kenzie responded to the monkey man with a smile on her face

“You are correct and your group can pass. The next one will be hard to pass my lovely lady.” The monkey man said as he flew away.

They all hurried back to the cars and drove through the gateway before it closed. Now they were on their way to the next challenge.
