RYAN'S POV "Where are we headed boss"? Leo asked as we drove out of Stitches Academy. I paused to think for a while. I needed to go through a list of potential clients with my secretary, but at the same time, I was tired and needed to rest. "Home" I replied, rubbing my temple. My Seattle home was nothing really extra, but it was hands down one of the most beautiful structures in town. A twin duplex with ultra modern facilities, lots of rooms and high end furniture. It had enough garage space to hold at least thirty cars. So much for a house I live in not more than fifty days a year. As we drove into the premises, I realised that we were being followed as a black Lamborghini drove in. Leo was swift to move but I motioned him to stop. I recognized that car from earlier. As the mysterious car came to a stop, Stephanie stepped out of the driver's side. She was dressed in a black sleeveless bodysuit, high-waist jeans and stilettos. She looked breathtaking as she walked towards me. "Boss should I…?" Leo asked as I motioned him to give us some privacy. "Did you follow me all the way here"? I asked curiously as she steadily closed the gap between us. She didn't respond but caressed my face instead. "Why are you here"? I asked, trying to hide my shuddering breath. "I've missed you D" she replied softly, her eyes slowly peering into mine. I felt exactly the way I felt the first time I saw her. It was my freshman year in college and I was invited to one of those closed-door parties of rich kids. She was a junior and she had tagged along with her roommate. She was sitting at a corner and having a conversation with someone she knew. She looked so mysterious and dangerously beautiful. When she flashed a smile, it was radiant as her white teeth contrasted her red lipstick. Here she was with the same bright red lipstick but this time, I couldn't ask to get to know her because I already knew her and she was fire and being with her was like playing with fire. "Go home Stephanie" I said, taking her hands off me. "D, look me in the eye and say you don't feel anything for me" she said in her usual way of calling me by the first letter of my middle name as she looked at me with a deep longing in her eyes. I couldn't tell what she was up to but she was definitely up to no good. "Don't act like you are innocent, Don't act like you are not the very reason things are the way they are" I said sternly, anger slowly building in me. "Please go away now I'm still being nice else I'll have to ask Leo to throw you out and I may have to let your lover know what you are up to" I said stepping away from her. "So what are we going to do about this tension?" She said, stepping closer. I stopped dead in my tracks. " I know you are not going to make a foolish move because we both feel the same way" She said, closing the gap between us yet again. "C'mon D, we're not kids, a little fun won't hurt" she said, winking at me. A part of me wanted to go along with her but a larger part of me still can't get over how she hurt me. I opened my mouth to respond but she raised her index finger to my lips. She slipped a paper into the breast pocket of my tuxedo and raised her mouth to my ears and whispered "You know where to find me". She stepped away and walked to the car she came in and drove away. I was amused by her boldness, such guts to think she can walk in and out of my life as she pleases. I could remember the first few weeks of our relationship when the girl in the corner became my girlfriend. She was all over me and was always at my beck and call. I ignored the fact that she was older than me. I spent lavishly on her from what my tight-fisted father gave me as allowance. She was all over me and I took her to all the rich kids parties on campus. As a girl from a not so well-to-do family who wanted to be among the creme de la creme on campus, I was giving her what she wanted and she was so in love with me and it was mutual. After her graduation, I invited her over to my family house for my father's annual charity ball. She was so excited to be in what she described as her dream house. I introduced her to my father but he didn't seem to be paying attention. In less than three months, I could feel that she was not emotionally present in the relationship and before I knew it, she called things off between us. In her words, I couldn't provide the life she wanted, so she was leaving me for a richer man. I was still wallowing in heartbreak when I learned that my father was seeing someone and, of all people, it happened to be my girlfriend of two years, the same girl that wants to walk back into my life now as though nothing happened.
