Blurb

When Lyra Blackwood is rejected by her fated mate on the night of the Moon Bonding Ceremony, she becomes the laughingstock of every pack. Branded cursed and cast into exile, she believes her destiny has ended. But the Moon Goddess has other plans. On the same night, three of the most powerful Alphas each ruling rival kingdoms claim they can hear Lyra's wolf calling to them. One says she's his destined Luna. Another insists she's the key to breaking an ancient curse. The last swears she is the lost heir to the throne that could unite or destroy the werewolf world. As war erupts between packs, Lyra discovers the truth is even darker: someone erased her memories, her wolf isn't ordinary, and the man who rejected her may have doomed the entire realm. Now every Alpha wants her. Some to love. Some to use. And one... to kill.

Rejected Under the Blood Moon
"You can't be serious, Alpha Kael." The silence that followed Lyra Blackwood's trembling words was louder than the drums that had celebrated the Moon Bonding Ceremony only moments ago. Hundreds of wolves stood inside the Moonstone Arena, their silver ceremonial robes glowing beneath the crimson full moon. Elders surrounded the sacred altar while the entire Silver Moon Pack watched with anticipation.Tonight was supposed to be the happiest night of Lyra's life. Instead, it became the night her world ended. Alpha Kael Ashbourne, heir to the Silver Moon Pack, looked at her with cold, emotionless eyes. The silver markings on his neck pulsed the unmistakable sign that the Moon Goddess had chosen Lyra as his fated mate. Everyone had seen it. There was no mistake. Yet the expression on Kael's face held only disgust. "I know exactly what I'm saying." His deep voice echoed through the arena. "I, Kael Ashbourne, reject Lyra Blackwood as my fated mate." Gasps erupted from every direction. Lyra felt as though the earth had disappeared beneath her feet. "No..." she whispered. The bond between them tightened painfully, refusing to break. Tears burned her eyes as she stared at the man she had secretly loved since childhood. He couldn't mean it. Not in front of everyone. Not tonight. An Elder stepped forward, his white beard trembling. "Alpha Kael," Elder Magnus warned. "The Moon Goddess has spoken. Rejecting your true mate is forbidden unless—" "Unless she's worthy." Kael's sharp voice cut through the Elder's warning. He turned toward the crowd instead of Lyra. "Tell me, my people." His eyes swept across the arena. "How can a woman without a wolf become your Luna?" Silence. Then whispers. The whispers became laughter. "She's still wolfless." "A Luna without a wolf?" "What a joke." "I always knew she was cursed." Each word stabbed deeper than the last. Lyra clenched her fists until her nails broke the skin. She had spent twenty-two years enduring those whispers. She was different. Every werewolf awakened their wolf before their eighteenth birthday Lyra never had. Doctors couldn't explain it. The Elders called it a curse. Children mocked her. Adults pitied her. Still, she'd believed the Moon Goddess had a purpose for her. Now even fate had abandoned her. Kael descended the altar steps until he stood directly before her. "So tell me, Lyra." His voice was barely above a whisper. "How could I ask thousands of wolves to bow before someone who can't even shift? His words struck harder because there was no anger in them. Only certainty. Lyra searched his face for even the smallest trace of regret. She found none. "You..." Her voice cracked. "You knew." "I knew." "You felt the bond." "I did." "Then why?" Kael inhaled slowly. "Because my pack deserves strength." His answer shattered something inside her. For years she'd dreamed that if they were mates, none of her weaknesses would matter. She'd been wrong. The Moon Goddess had chosen her. Kael had not. Elder Magnus raised his staff. "The rejection cannot proceed without consequence." "I accept every consequence." Kael never looked away from Lyra. "But I will never accept a cursed Luna." The bond between them exploded into agony. Lyra cried out as invisible claws ripped through her heart. Her knees struck the cold stone floor. Every breath became torture. It felt as though her soul itself was being torn apart. Somewhere in the crowd, someone laughed again. "Look at her." "Pathetic." "Even the Goddess made a mistake." Lyra bit her lip until she tasted blood. She would not beg. Not here. Not before all these people. Kael spoke the final words. "I reject you."The pain intensified. The silver thread connecting their souls snapped Then... Nothing happened. The arena fell unnaturally quiet. Kael frowned. The Elders exchanged confused glances. The rejection should have severed the bond. Instead, the moonstone beneath Lyra's feet began glowing. A faint silver light spread across the sacred altar. "What is this?" one Elder whispered. Cracks raced across the ancient stone. The wind roared through the arena although the night had been perfectly still only seconds before. Above them, the crimson moon darkened. For the briefest moment... It turned completely black. Everyone stared upward in horror. Then the strange phenomenon vanished as quickly as it had appeared. The moon returned to normal. The glowing altar dimmed. The wind disappeared. Silence lingered. Elder Magnus looked pale. "I... I've never seen anything like that." Kael glanced at Lyra, his expression briefly uncertain before hardening once again. "It changes nothing." He turned toward the council. "My rejection stands." The Head Elder closed his eyes. "So be it." He faced Lyra. "According to the Sacred Laws of the Silver Moon Pack, a rejected mate who possesses no wolf has no claim to the Alpha's household or protection."Lyra slowly lifted her head. The Elder continued. "You are hereby stripped of your future Luna status." Another Elder added coldly, "You will leave the Alpha Estate before sunrise." A third spoke. "You are forbidden from participating in future pack ceremonies." The final judgment came from Elder Magnus himself. "Until the council determines whether the Goddess's omen signifies a blessing or a curse... Lyra Blackwood is exiled beyond the borders of the Silver Moon Pack." Her heart stopped. Exile? For being rejected? She turned desperately toward her parents. Her father lowered his eyes. Her mother silently wept but said nothing. Not one word. Not one protest. Not one step toward their daughter. Something inside Lyra finally broke. She laughed. It wasn't a joyful laugh. It was empty. Hopeless. "So this is all I was worth." No one answered. She slowly rose to her feet despite the agony tearing through her chest. Her gaze swept across the faces she'd known her entire life. Neighbors. Friends. Teachers. Warriors she'd admired. Every single one looked away. Except Kael. He watched her with unreadable eyes. For a heartbeat she wondered if he regretted it. Then he turned his back on her. That was her answer. Without another word, Lyra walked through the parted crowd. No one stopped her. No one comforted her. No one even said goodbye. The great gates of the Moonstone Arena opened. Cold night air greeted her. Behind her, the celebration slowly resumed as if nothing had happened. Music. Laughter. Voices. Life continued. Without her. Lyra stepped into the darkness beyond the gates, unaware that beneath the sleeve of her left arm, a crescent-shaped mark had begun to glow with silver light. Far beyond the borders of the Silver Moon Pack... Across three distant kingdoms... Three Alpha Kings froze mid conversation as the exact same silver mark burned into their wrists. One whispered in disbelief. "The Moon Queen..." Another slowly rose from his throne. "She's alive." And in the deepest prison beneath the forgotten Lunar Temple, a pair of crimson eyes opened for the first time in a thousand years. "The final piece has awakened." The hunt had begun.
