A Big Announcement

A/N: Just a reminder, updates are usually once a week! I know my chapters aren't that long, but that's all I can handle, being a junior in high school. Leave a like if you're enjoying the story! Update: Sorry, my account was acting a little weird so I published the chapter a few times over to make sure those who follow my story would get notified. Chatter surrounded me as the entire student body stand outside, waiting for the principal to arrive. What I wanted to know was why there was a huge stage right outside in the courtyard. The population of students wasn't that big; why didn't they just make a gym or something? The chairs had all already been set up, and each student stepped to place their butts on each seat. Sitting down, I glanced around when my eyes met a pair of black ones. I quickly looked away, only to catch Alice staring at me at the opposite end of the row. I repeated the action, feeling guilty, knowing that I had been a little hard on Alexander. So maybe I was a little unhappy with the slap that took a few days ago. She didn't have to know that. The chatter subsided as an old man stepped onto the podium. Being no more than 5 feet tall, he struggled a little to place his mouth near the microphone. What I learned a few days before was that batteries and other 'technology' here weren't powered by electricity, but magic. Though I still don't completely understand the process, I guess it's a safe and renewable source of energy. Hopefully, children with potential abilities weren't worked to death in a small, abandoned factory. Hopefully. "Attention, students," a weak voice echoed through our ears. Was he our principal, I wondered. When all eyes were on the elder, he spoke again. "And now, an announcement from our principal." My eyes widened in surprise as a young, tall, handsome (must I continue?) man with glasses stepped upon the stage. Behind me, I heard some girls swooning. Was no one in this school not pretty? "Thank you, Vice-Principal Sebastian," a deep authoritative voice called out. The girl beside me gushed in a nose bleed. I couldn't blame her, even if I wasn't normally boy-crazy, this man is every woman's dream. "As you all know, we are approaching the season of Spring. And comes with that is the Cherry Blossoms. And so, we are having our annual Bluebell Tournament!" The students cheered at his exclamation. I leaned over to the girl next to me, who had finally stopped bleeding. "Bluebell Tournament?" I questioned. She scoffed and rolled her eyes, acting like she didn't know I had amnesia. "It's a competition the school does every year between the magic faction of the school and the weapon faction. Winners of both will compete against each other in the final round." She waved her hands in my face. "Now shush, the principal is speaking!" I pursed my lips and slowly turned my head to face the handsome principal. "In a month, the event will commence. Over the course of the next week, your teachers will discuss on which faction best suits you." He paused for dramatic effect. "Also, I have a special announcement. This year's tournament will be attended by our very own King and Queen!" Chatter exploded at his words. "The King and Queen?" "No way!" "Quiet!" Roared the principal. He cleared his throat. "I hope you will train your hardest over the next few weeks and not disappoint me," he paused. "-as well as this academy. You are dismissed." With that, we all returned to class. XXXXX The hype over the tournament remained over the next week. People were already placing their bets on who they thought was going to be the winner. "Place your bets here!" A guy was even running a stand. "Oh, 10 jewels on Prince Alex!" A young girl placed 10 red jewels, which was considered the currency, on the table.
