Apology Accepted

A/N: Hey guys, sorry for the late update. I think this story is going to get an update once a week, although exams are coming up so they might be delayed for a little. Just be patient, I won't give up on this story just yet! Also, I changed the title of the novel, sorry about that. I still don't really know what I should call this story. It might be temporary, it might not. Anyways, enjoy the chapter! It's also a little bit more background, so sorry if it's a little boring. I stayed in that position, head down and back bent at a 90-degree angle for a good minute. Silence followed my actions, and no one dared to say a thing. I had wanted to stay like that until Alice spoke up, but it looked like she had no intention to do so. Was she looking down on me? I couldn't take it anymore and straightened my back, and our gazes met. She looked shocked, to say the least. There was also something in her eyes that I couldn't identify- was it fear? Nevertheless, I had no intention of backing down. Now that I had apologized, all she had needed to do was to accept my apology and I could go on with my life peacefully. Yet she continued to look at me, a little dazed. Finally, she snapped out of it. Slowly, and more than a little unsure, she spoke. "W-why?" At first, I was confused. Was she asking why I had caused harm to her? There was no way I could've answered that. But then I realized that she was confused on why I had actually apologized to her. It made sense; it was impossible that the old Camille would have shown any remorse in harming others for her end goal. That, I know for sure. "Because it was my fault." In any case, I was determined to solve all the conflicts between me and this girl today. In truth, I have never been bullied in my last life. I wasn't going to allow it to happen in this one. Not to mention, I have also never been so blatantly slapped by anyone before. Though probably one of the gorgeous people I have ever met, Alexander was someone I hoped to never offend. "Though the events of that day seem to be a little blurry," I lied, hoping to evade any specific questions with the statement, "one thing is for sure. I was the reason that you are injured. So I hope you can forgive me and let our past conflicts go." There, that sounded sincere enough, right? It looked like my words only confused her further, and she kept fidgeting, trying to avoid my eyes. Finally, recognizing that I would stay there until she accepted my apology, Alice nodded. I gave her my brightest smile and gave her a quick hug. "Thank you! I know this is abrupt, but one day I hope we can be friends!" I exclaimed. Well, now it looks like the whole class is shocked, everyone having an expression similar to Alice's. I shrugged it off, turned around and walked back to my seat. Hey, the girl sitting next to me doesn't seem so far now. Slowly, Alice also walked to her seat -towards the front of the class- and sat down. A few minutes later, the teacher came in. She walked towards the front of the class, where her desk is, and greeted us. "Good morning, everyone! Why is it so quiet? Ah, Miss Camille, it looks like you're back! I hope you don't follow behind!" With that class started. XXXXX School was boring in this life too. My schedule was as followed: English, Math, Magic, History, Weaponry, and 'Etiquette'. Why did I put quotes around etiquette? Because it's basically a class to teach women to be more docile than men. I wanted to punch the lights out of our teacher so many times. Anyways, English and Math were very similar to those of my old world. Although there is more vocabulary used in this time period that isn't used in the modern days, it is still understandable. Not to mention, Math seems to be a bit looked down on and is fairly easy. There isn't even a science class, which disturbs me. The magic class was the most interesting. It's mostly the basis, and each individual is taught how to use the magic energy around them. Training is independent so the class is mostly practice and self-teaching since each person has a different specialty, though classmates with similar attributes can help each other. I still have no idea on how to use the magic in this world, but it's not much of a rush. History was also very interesting. The teacher teaches not only the history of the country but also the world with other continents. Though a lot of it I had read in basics in the past few days, but the class does go into more detail. Weaponry was practically P.E. Laps, strength-building, and other exercises are common. Although this body is quite healthy, I still feel like dying after running a lap. The extra part was that we were also taught on how to use weapons for some reason. From how the teacher stresses his lessons, I feel like nobles often run into dangerous situations. In addition, is it just me or does the teacher incredibly resemble an assassin? The day went by relatively peaceful beside the events in the morning. The news spread quickly, and the amount of disgusted looks aimed towards me decreased as well. Though, I still did not try to make any friends; it seemed to early to do so. Unfortunately, the boy from earlier is in almost all of my classes, save for History and Etiquette. He's also the only one who kept fiercely glaring at me, even witnessing my apology. Judging by his gaze towards Alice, he also seems to have fallen for her. Poor guy, he has been destined to be the eternal second male lead. I still haven't gotten his name; guess I'd have to ask Felicity later. School finished with the typical bell that I had dreaded in my past life. As I was walking outside, I saw the hundreds of carriage awaiting their masters and mistresses. I started to get a headache. I looked up. The sky was blue, the sun was out, it was perfect weather. With a shrug, I started walking home, hoping I remembered the path. The looks I had received were quite entertaining.
