"What do you mean by that?, aren't you supposed to know how to reverse this". Charlotte jumped from the bed shocked by what Isabella said. Who in their right senses want some else to replace them when they had such a perfect life.
"From the way you speak, I'm starting t think that you have a hand in what's going on". Charlotte inquired suspiciously. Because if she really was a victim in this swap, she wouldn't be as calm as she was now.
" Look here Charlotte or whatever your name is, I'll never, ever, wish to exchange my life for anything in the world. Just because I'm more at ease with the situation, doesn't mean I don't care". Isabella was at her wits with the immature and insecure child on the phone. She was raised in a family where love and time, were secondary and only given when available. She had to grow up when she was just 6 years old.
Her father was always never around, even for her birthdays, but he never forgot to send her gifts. Her mother, that woman cared more about what people would say rather than what was happening at the moment. She never had any siblings, so growing up at a young age was a must.
Now when she came across with a teenager who was still acting so immature, that irked her.
After the shout that she had received from Isabella, Charlotte tensed body relaxed a bit and she started to think clearly.
"Ok, I'm calm now. Isabella what do you mean by I have to be you?"
Isabella took a deep breath as she explained.
"I want you to put on those contact lenses so your eyes color which I believe is brown, would be covered".
"Why do you want me to behave like you, can't you fix this s**t"
" If I could I would have done it by now. If you don't do as I say and my parents finds out about it... " Isabella paused for a moment then continued. "...they wouldn't care. They would think that I was throwing a fit or being rebellious and then we would never be able to find a solution to this, whatever it is".
" So I need you to stay calm, and pretend to be me, so my parents, mostly my mother, wouldn't notice".
" Fine, I'll do it. But what would you do? How are you going to cope?". Charlotte had sat back down on the bed holding the phone which looked really expensive, close to her so it wouldn't accidentally fall.
" I'll pretend to be you too, how gard could it possibly be". Isabella said indifferently. " How hard could it possibly be".
"You'll find that out very soon". The door to the ward opened and Charlotte immediately ended the call. "..I'll talk to you later".
Mrs Fabiola walked into her daughter's ward and saw that she was on the phone with someone but she quickly cut the call. She couldn't help but ask
"Honey, who was on the phone?"
Charlotte looked at the woman who looked to young to be the mother of a grown teenager and was short of answers,
What should she say?
" En... it was one of my friends"
"Which one?"
"It's, mm, someone you haven't met, so let me not bother with the name".
Fabiola looked at her daughter who looked like she had just ran a marathon
"Honey, why are you sweating that much? "
" Em.. it's really hot in here". Charlotte even fanned her face with her hands to make it believable.
" But this is October, it's cold". Fabiola reminded her daughter.
Charlotte couldn't come up with anything else to say, so she changed the topic.
" When am I going to be discharged? "
That was when Fabiola remembered. Isabella had been acting strangely some few hours ago.
" Isabella you were supposed to be discharged today, but after the stunt you put up when I visited her the first time, the doctor had to prolong your stay in the hospital ".
" But I'm better now". Charlotte's face fell when she heard that she wouldn't be discharged today. One thing she hated the most was being in a hospital bed, even though she wanted to become a doctor.
Fabiola smiled.
Her daughter was back to normal.
"I'll see what I can do". When Fabiola left to convince the doctor to discharge ' Isabella ', Charlotte took in a deep breath.
This would be her life for the next few days, or weeks, or month.
...
When Charlotte cut the call, Isabella pocketed the phone and looked at her surroundings. She was sure she wouldn't be able to last in this girl's body for too long, especially if she had to work.
"Isabella, I'll help you get started with Charlotte's life". Isabella turned to see who said that and it turned out to be Jason, the brother.
"Thanks".
And that was how her life as Charlotte began. She found out Charlotte was a waitress in the restaurant, so she continued from where Charlotte left off.
She went table to table and collected their orders and brought them to the assistant cook, who happened to be the brown haired guy, which name she found out to be Elijah.
The mess she had caused when she first woke up in a different body, had surprisingly not gotten any attention, from the customers or even other employees. Which she was grateful for, 'cause if they asked what would she say?
I panicked because I woke up in a foreign environment, stared at by two boys who were extremely handsome looking. Oh and also, I'm not Charlotte?
Isabella thought to herself,
' But she was Charlotte, to everyone here, and until this reverses'.
...
Both girls began their living the lives of the other, how will Charlotte cope with being a singer, and having to associate with bratty rich kids? And how would Isabella cope with having no one at her beck and call, and having to do everything for herself and also for others?
