Truth of a wolf
Chapter One — “Truth of a Wolf” One day, it was written for me to live as an illegitimate child… without a family, without a name to represent me or make me proud someday. All I know is that my parents made a “mistake” by giving birth to me… at least, that was what they believed. To them, I was a curse that had fallen upon this world without mercy. The only thing they left behind for me was a small necklace engraved with a white polar wolf… nothing more. They disappeared from this world without warning, without a letter, without even a final goodbye. I was thrown into the streets of the Kingdom of “Snoweaze,” also known as the “Kingdom of the Polar Flower,” crying beneath a cruel cold that nearly froze the bones. I was only a baby barely capable of crying, yet even my tears froze upon my cheeks. Until a man and a woman took me in… for a moment, I thought I had been saved. But I was nothing more than merchandise. They trafficked children, exploiting the innocence of the young to sell their organs. A child who could barely speak… what could he do besides cry? Then a couple who wanted a child came and bought me from them. But when I reached the age of two… they died. After that, a friend of theirs took care of me and adopted me… or at least, that was what I thought. He was terrifyingly cruel. He beat me every day, deprived me of food, sleep, even speech itself. He enjoyed children’s tears as though their screams were music entertaining him. But strangely… I never cried. I was almost emotionless, without reactions. Only a cold silence and sleepy empty eyes filled my face, as though I were looking at the world from somewhere very far away. He beat me in the cruelest ways possible… while I stared at him without a single expression. Two years later… One night, I sat beneath the window watching the sky filled with stars. But what truly caught my attention… was the moon. It was close to becoming full. There was something about it that pulled me in strangely, as though something inside me had known it for a very long time. The next morning, the man’s wife poured freezing water over me violently to wake me up for work, even though I was only four years old. I rose wearing my ragged torn clothes and wandered through the streets collecting money from jobs far beyond my age; cleaning, carrying heavy things, and sometimes… stealing. Even then, nothing was enough to satisfy his greed. Every coin I earned disappeared into bottles of alcohol. That night, while I was returning home, a group of young men working as thieves blocked my path. They formed a circle around me, and I still remember their exact number… despite being only four years old. My memory was sharp… like a wolf’s. One of them approached mockingly. — “Heeey, little brat… give me the money. It’s not even yours in the first place. What does a child like you need money for? Hahaha!” I did not reply. I remained silent with cold features, as though the winds of the entire world could never move my mountain. Another one laughed and said: — “Look at him! Is he trying to scare us with those eyes? What a pathetic little stray… hand over the money before we sell you to organ traders!” I walked past them as though they did not exist. But suddenly… One of them grabbed my shirt violently until the bag of money fell from my hand, then shouted angrily: — “You damn brat, who do you think you are?! Trying to imitate wolves?!” At that moment… I spoke for the first time. In a cold emotionless voice, I said: — “I like wolves… I admire the way they deal with insects like you.” Silence spread for a moment. The young man froze from my words, and from the coldness in my eyes that carried no trace of childhood. Then suddenly… He punched me hard in the face until I fell to the ground. All of them began beating me violently while all I did was shield my body with my arms. Until one of them placed his foot on my bloodied head and mocked me. — “Just a chicken chick pretending to be a wolf… you’re still a little stray.” I struggled to stand up. But before I could defend myself, one of them stabbed a knife deep into the left side of my chest… then twisted it cruelly. It felt as though my insides were being torn apart. I clutched my wound while pressing my lips together from the pain. For the first time… death felt close. They took the money and left, except for one of them. He stayed behind laughing. — “I like this child… maybe I’ll sell him, or kill him and take his organs.” Then he pulled out a knife from his pocket and slowly opened it in front of me. The only thing I did… was look at him with cold confidence. Suddenly… I felt something strange inside me. An instinct. He lunged toward me, trying to slit my throat, but my hand moved with terrifying speed and grabbed his wrist tightly. His eyes widened in horror. He tried to break free… but my grip did not move. Then he looked into my eyes… And in that moment, his entire body trembled. My eyes had widened in a frightening way, a faint glow reflecting within them, as though monsters were awakening in the depths of a dark ocean. I let out a soft laugh. A laugh that terrified him even more. I lifted my gaze toward him and calmly said: — “I’m starting to enjoy this game… aren’t you?” Then… I crushed his arm with enough force to tear it from his body. He screamed hysterically while crying in agony, and I threw his arm away without the slightest care, as though it were garbage. I rushed toward him and struck his face until his nose shattered completely. At that moment, while I was leaning over him, my necklace fell forward before his eyes. He looked at it… Then his eyes widened in madness as he screamed: — “Noooo…! I don’t want to die! Please, don’t curse me!” I understood nothing. But in the blink of an eye… He froze in place… his hand raised in desperate pleading, his widened eyes shedding tears and blood, his dreams shattered just like the body I had broken. And when I looked at him again… His heart was in my hand. His heart. It was warm… beating… and its scent seemed horrifyingly delicious. I crushed it between my fingers until it became pieces of flesh. Then I licked the blood clinging to my hand. At first… It tasted good. I returned home without money, fully aware of the fate waiting for me. Beatings. Only beatings. I stood before the door while the disgusting smell of alcohol seeped from inside. Then I looked at my bloodstained hands… and felt my hunger growing in a terrifying way. I no longer wanted ordinary food. I wanted… meat. Any kind of meat. At that moment, I grabbed the doorknob with my small cold hands stained by the brutality of this world’s blood. I entered the house, and the man’s wife greeted me with a powerful slap. — “You damned brat! You tore your only clothes and stained the house with your filthy blood!” Then she began beating me repeatedly while screaming: — “Clean the house quickly! Your real punishment will begin when my husband returns!” I washed my wound and wrapped it with a torn piece of cloth. I was still very young… yet my childhood had been stolen from me long ago. No games. No warmth. No mercy. Even my name… I did not have one. They only called me: “Nothing.” While I cleaned the house, the woman mocked me while hitting me with a broomstick. — “Work, you worthless thing! Even your parents abandoned you… did you think my husband’s friend adopted you because he loved you? No, he only wanted you as a servant! You were always meant to be a slave useful to us… selling you is your destiny.” Then she burst into a disgusting laugh. But her words… pierced through my chest. Only then did I understand why I had no name like the other children. I… was nothing to them. Then she said while drinking alcohol: — “Do you know? Your mother was a w***e, and you’re just an illegitimate child… you deserve death.” But I did not react. Because I was used to hearing those words. Then suddenly she asked: — “Where’s today’s money?” I paused for a moment before calmly replying: — “It was stolen.” The very next second… She smashed a bottle over my head. Glass shards scattered everywhere, and blood flowed down my face. It hurt… But I was used to pain. After finishing the cleaning, I went to the garden where I had slept for years. I lifted my head toward the sky… And the moon had become full. It shone with a strange light. Suddenly… I saw a glowing wolf emerging from the moon and rushing toward me at terrifying speed. I thought it was an illusion. I rubbed my eyes hard, believing it was only a mirage. …but before I could understand what was happening… It pierced straight through my chest. I screamed for the first time in my life. Then I collapsed onto the ground gasping for breath while blood poured from my mouth. The red color slowly spread into my blue eyes, and my black hair became darker, streaked with white strands. When I touched my face… I felt that something inside me had changed. My emotions. My instincts. I looked around me… Then my eyes landed on a chicken. Drool began to drip from my mouth. My fangs emerged… and so did my claws. I pounced on it with terrifying speed. I had been starving for days. I devoured it whole. Raw. Then I drank water from the chicken’s bowl… they cared for it far more than they ever cared for me. But when I looked at my reflection in the water… I saw eyes that were not the eyes of a child. They looked like the eyes of a wolf. I noticed the mole beneath my left eye becoming clearer than before. I whispered to myself nervously: — “Did I… gain a wolf’s instincts?” At that moment, the man returned home furious because he could not find money for alcohol. He shouted angrily: — “Did that worthless freak bring any money today?” His wife replied with disgust: — “He’s useless. He couldn’t even bring enough. Selling him won’t work either… they’d return him to us in this condition. The best choice is to get rid of him.” The man growled angrily: — “That freak… I’ll show him.” His wife screamed: — “Kill him!” While I stood there absentmindedly staring at my hands… and my face… The door burst open violently. In a fleeting moment, I looked at him as he slapped me hard, removed his belt, and began whipping me like an animal in the cruelest way possible. Then he exhaled heavily and said: — “What use are you? Nothing… I’ll cut you apart and sell you to people to eat you… hahahaha!” He grabbed the axe he used to destroy everything around him and raised it high while approaching me with a massive grin on his face. — “What I love most… are children’s tears.” “Though sometimes what I enjoy even more is cutting them into pieces while they’re still alive.” Then he lifted the axe high into the air. While I backed away in fear until my body pressed against the wall. For the first time… I felt real fear. I simply closed my eyes… waiting for the end. Then he brought the axe crashing down toward me— But what no one expected was… {To Be Continued} Written by: Moone Chan (Moone Art) #wolfbound #MooneChan_Novels Moone Chan Novels Follow Mony-chan on all platforms... under the name Moone-chan,or moone art on f*******:, t****k, Twitter, Telegram, anywhere.
