Shuji awoke feeling disgusted by his dream.
“Why are those two in my dream?” he exclaimed, annoyed, and shook his head.
He punched his chest softly with his fist, knowing deep down that it was wrong to be jealous of two people who were talking in his dream.
Shuji took a cigarette stick and went to the veranda to light it. As he looked outside, he could see the sea and the entire resort.
“When I’m at the resort or the beach, tourists and visiting guests like my work colleagues can’t even see their mansion when they look up,” he recalled something he had experienced at the resort and the sea.
Shuji smoked a cigarette, lost in thought about the dream. He wondered why he was dreaming of Lixue kissing him on the lips. He threw the expired cigarette in the trash before returning to his bed to sleep again.
A few hours later, Shuji woke up again, washed his face in the bathroom, and changed his clothes.
“Good afternoon?” Lixue greeted him when she saw him in the living room.
Shuji nodded and yawned, still feeling drowsy.
“This is…coffee. You’re still sleepy,” Lixue said as she handed him the coffee he was drinking.
“Direct kiss? Are you trying to make me fall for you?” Shuji asked Lixue.
“There’s nothing wrong with falling in love, even if I don’t want to take something that isn’t mine, Shuji. If you don’t want to drink it, don’t,” Lixue replied, draining the contents of the cup.
“You know, since you kissed me and healed my wound, I can’t be bothered anymore,” Shuji said to Lixue.
“I just healed you directly from your wound with my powers that you swallowed and flowed into your wound,” Lixue replied to Shuji.
“Is that what you’re doing to the one you’re treating?” Shuji asked, sitting up.
“No, Shuji,” Lixue said to Shuji.
“What does ‘chosen’ mean to you? My understanding is that I was chosen to be with someone forever. What if I can’t accept that because I have a girlfriend and I love her,” Shuji said, looking at Lixue.
“A child, the one destined to save humanity, will not be born in this world. If that doesn’t happen, many people will die, and many will become disciples of evil,” Lixue replied seriously to Shuji, causing him to remain silent.
“Evil-deluge will engulf our world, and people like me will become disciples of evil. Your enemy is the devil?” Shuji responded, his mind racing with questions he couldn’t comprehend.
“The one who will take over our world is even more powerful than the devil, Shuji. If the birth of the child destined to save the world doesn’t happen,” Lixue answered seriously.
“Why are you confessing everything to me? Neither you nor your father are ordinary people. What do I have to do with this?” Shuji replied to Lixue.
“Because he chose you, Shuji. The seed that will create a baby and save the world will come from you. But if you don’t accept what you know, there’s nothing I can do,” Lixue answered, standing up immediately when Shuji stopped her.
“I love her, and I don’t know yet who will bring the child destined to save the world,” Shuji replied to Lixue.
“I told you, Shuji. We won’t force the prophecy on you if you love your girlfriend. If everything changes willingly, the girl destined for you can carry and give birth,” Lixue answered, leaving feeling a pang of pain in her heart every time Shuji said he loved Erika.
Lixue knew deep down that she was the second choice in Shuji’s life. They weren’t meant to be, but they loved each other. Shuji watched Lixue walk away, noticing the male bodyguard following her.
“Who will bring the child into the world if the sperm comes from me?” Shuji wondered to himself as he went to the kitchen and brewed his coffee.
Shuji didn’t accompany Lixue to Palawan City. He was left behind, looking around the house.
“How many years has this house stood?” Shuji asked the bodyguard who passed by him.
“This house has been standing for a long time, sir, but I don’t know the exact year,” the bodyguard replied to Shuji.
Shuji nodded to the bodyguard and headed back to his room to change and take a dip in the pool.
Shuji and the bodyguard, who always accompanied Lixue, navigated through the restricted area.
“Here we are, sir,” the bodyguard said.
The bodyguard pressed a button, and a mirror appeared, revealing the pool’s water to have vanished. To Shuji’s astonishment, a tunnel opened up.
“Go through there, sir. Enter the other pool,” the bodyguard instructed.
“The pool here is fine with me,” Shuji replied.
“This water isn’t ordinary. There’s a magical waterfall here that only you, Lady Chen, and your family can bathe in. Only you are allowed, no one else,” the bodyguard explained.
“What? There’s a magical waterfall here?” Shuji exclaimed, looking at the people bathing in the pool, who were all staring at him.
The bodyguard simply smiled, and Shuji sighed, deciding to go down to the other pool. As he descended, he noticed tourists, guests, and others watching him. Shuji quickly averted his gaze and started swimming.
Meanwhile, Lixue was engaged in a conversation with another important family business partner.
“50% is equivalent to the 20% you want to raise 1,200,000. The remaining 50% is yours, which amounts to 960,000. You have three days to make a decision, Mr. Montero,” Lixue informed their business partner.
“That’s a great deal! Do you still have a budget for your company’s materials?” Mr. Montero inquired.
“You know my father, Mr. Montero. He’s even willing to give you a billion if he takes out money for our business,” Lixue replied to the businessman she was speaking to.
“I’ll consider it, Miss Chen. We’ll meet at your resort. I’ll go there, and you’ll know the outcome of our conversation then,” Mr. Montero responded.
They both rose, shook hands, and left the restaurant. Lixue returned to the resort by flying with someone close to their family.
Lixue catches up with Shuji in the underground practicing martial arts. Lixue went back upstairs to rest in her room.
Shuji learns that Lixue has returned from the city. Shuji immediately went back upstairs and told him that Lixue was sleeping in her room and he went to his room to rest.
